Great info, thanks for taking the time to break everything down D! I'm still mastering the gimbal moves from the sandwich video, will add the "Bay style" upward orbit shot to the list. Your videos give me hella confidence too, as I assume all commercial DP/Cinematographers rent RED cameras and have shot music videos for 10 years before they venture into commercial work. Nice to know with a little knowledge, some gear and consistent practice, a regular guy can replicate the same techniques.
Agreed!
Bro this helped so much, I work at a local digital marketing agency and every time we go to a shoot, we are all disagreeing on what shots go where and when people need to say stuff, I was never aloud to take charge as an employee. I finally stood my ground and told me bosses the ads we were making were ass, not only do I not enjoy these ads but my dog wouldn’t either. I argued with them for about an hour and almost got fired😬 they gave me a task to shoot a commercial under my say. I used the story board and shot the best commercial ever, my pay went up and all was great. Thank you so much man.
NICEE
I feel like I've learned so much from Peter, Matti and a lot of the other larger youtube channels. One thing they don't do is what you do... show an actual project and how you did it.
Great tutorial Daniel, brighten by your tips as always! And thanks for featuring Zhiyun Crane 2!
Zhiyun-tech, does your Crane 2 follow focus work on Sony a6300?
singasong69it very good question
Zhiyun-tech Does the crane2 foĺlow focus work on sony A6300?
Hi guys, the function is not available on Sony yet, pls stay tuned for mechanical follow focus extension:)
@@ZhiyunTechGlobal Is this follow focus works with EOS M50? I don't know which gimbal to buy (Weebill, Crane2, AK2000 or Ronin SC). This feature would make me buy Zhiyun.
i swear to god bro, ur gonna become big in youtube very soon so long as you keep up the content. with only a few videos over the past few months and a 21k subscriber base, your booming like crazy. got lots to learn fro you. keep up the good work bro, cheers!
KOR Haku HD you was right
This looks so professional!!
fun working on this commercial together!
The pouring ice-cream shots were some of my favourite shots in the whole thing
Came out so clean!
This was rad!
This is a great video, Daniel! I have the Sony a6300 and just got the Crane 2, so it's really cool to see what can be done with it, in a commercial application! You did a rad job demonstrating that you DON'T need the high-end stuff to produce excellent results. Well done!
Really well shot and edited! Movement in a shot really helps up that production value. Thanks for the breakdown
I really enjoyed this video, it's great to how you open every scene and how it was filmed. I too make most videoprojects alone or with just little help from someone. It's often challenging but I do enjoy making best possible end product with minimal gear and crew. Hope you make more of these, keeps my creative juices flowing so to speak!
Nice! All of your shots turned out really well. The final edit is really colorful and clear. Great job!
thanks Daniel, I really appreciate that you share all those simple things that others might consider boring. I am tired of seeing countless "how to b-roll" movies that show how to make good looking shots but don't have a proper story behind it. This is where your marketing career kicks in I guess :)
Keep the good stuff coming, I am always excited about your videos and thank you!
That commercial came out awesome man! Great video.
Good choice of cuts. I especially like that you went out before the boy actually got a mouthful of ice cream. Less messy visually, how many people look good actually eating food?, and leaves the viewer in anticipation.
Breaking down the Gimbal movement when you were behind the child was great at 329 in. I wanted to master that type of shot and I’m gonna give it a shot with my own work. Thanks!
omg u weren't kidding when u said u own a shit ton of urban, i love it
Mate, your channel is the most useful out there! Short, informative and nicely made! You're quite an inspiration, thank you for that! I'm saving money for a6300, so I should get in the game by summer time here in Moscow, Russia. Thanks again and best of luck to you!
Collaborating is very important! Thanks for sharing your behind the scenes. Commercial turned out great!
Did the same type of video for a block climbing complex so it was such interesting and entertaining! Thanks man
i love videos like this! thanks
Great commercial! The slow mo / 1080p looks pretty good.
Now we need to know how much did you charge for that.
I am also interested
I’d assume maybe a couple hundred dollars? He said a few hours work, editing time, I wouldn’t pay more than $200-300 for a 30sec freelance commercial
Bro. Thanks your videos are super helpful. Thank you. Gives me great perspectives of how to approach shots.
Your video's are very informative man!
Thanks so much for all the info, great attitude and workflow! Keep rocking, best of luck to you and all fellow filmmakers!
Much appreciated! Thanks for your support :)
Cool possibility to produce a very interesting commercial video with little equipment.
I use a Sony A5100 and the Zhiyun Crane 2 gimbal. I am also fully satisfied with the two devices and use them almost every day. Hope that I also have the opportunity to produce such a video for a brand. Great channel, keep it up!
nice done commercial. Simple yet very compelling
You deserve waaaaay more subscribers. Your content is great.
Really appreciate the behind the scenes videos like this :)
Thanks for sharing man, it's awesome. I used a6000 with kit lens for make small money, the gear is not really matter, and you proof it above my level
Such great info and delivery. Definitely checking out your other content!
Thanks for sharing! Really liked the vibes of the commercial :)
I'll take the tip of creating a storyboard, even if I'm super crappy at sketching :D
Have a good one!
I really enjoy your super hands on explanation of all your processes, your videos are such a good resource for getting inspired :) . Thanks
Loved the breakdown of the shots, and and, the idea of not creating with what you have!
Great tutorial, and thanks for breaking everything down awesome. Can't wait to check out some more of your videos.
Solid video man, defs gotta try storyboarding some time and love that shot when the beat dropped too!
Thanks dude!!
Awesome! Great work on the commercial.
Damn! That's good and creative way to do the job. Congrats and thank u from Chile (South America) :D
Came out great man, nice work! Good info too!
Really sick video man! Bigups to you and matt!
Thanks G! Let's do a joint project together and I'll feature it in the next one, and give you a big ol shoutout
Thank you sooooo much!! This was great, I'm tiptoeing into commercial videography and this video was exactly what I needed!! Thank you!
Daniel, start using haze. This project would be amped up with it.👍
Great video, thanks for sharing. Really interesting to see the behind the scene.
im loving all your videos man. keep it up!
This is my dream camera and gimbal for a budget setup. This is so nice. :)
This is really great, love the commercial!
Awesome. I'm learing a lot but there are still so many things i have to learn; from lighting to getting the correct lenses for the shot.
So Great man, easy way to Film a commercial :)
Awesome video Daniel! With the right mindset and planning, it doesn't take too much to make a great promo video. Great tips, keep it up my man ✊. We all need to get on Discord again soon Haha 👌👌
Thanks man! And absolutely, that was a great time!
Love this video ! Great little promo too ! Story boarding, i'm going to try it 👌🏽
Great video and commercial! Thanks for sharing
Wow! This is a great video. As a A6300 new owner, it's reassuring to see how far you can go with a couple of lens and a gimble. I'm really surprised with the color. I'll browse your channel, looking forward your color grading process, if there's any video about it!
Awesome video. Excellent tips. I’ve set up a shoot for a 30 commercial using your tips.
But I’m curious as to what I should charge. Do you have a base price that you can suggest???
Almsot Crying when I saw budget sony A6300 and i'm making videos in a Sony A3000
Hi! I don't have a big budget but I'm wondering to buy the Sony A3000. Just one question. The picture quality is better than an iPhone 6s, right?
No big deal, but I noticed you said you shot the waffles using a 50mm 1.4, but linked the 1.8 in the description.
Still a great video, and I appreciate the detail you go into with your content. Really gives me some things to consider when I start making content.
Great breakdown! Thanks for doing this
Great work man!!
Thanks buddy!
I wish more videographers would watch this video and learn.
This is really good, thanks for showing. The storyboarding is a nice touch. I'm finding I'm editing a family weekend away and finding getting the general flow a night mare. Almost done but the sequence of events are completely out of sync to how it actually happened. It's that create part that has put a long block on getting it done.
I dare not tell my partner I'm gonna story board the next holiday, may need to buy a cup for bash protection
So dope. Love the content Daniel. Would be cool to see a video on how you get jobs like these and how you go about pricing these :)
Yeah, he doesn't have to necessarily say what he charges, but just an overall idea of HOW cuz I find it hard a s a beginner into the commercial industry to start pricing my work. But yeah it's crazy how much some people can charge
Man love it .. great job .
The title of the video mentions "on a budget"... so what would be a close estimation for how much this type of commercial would cost the client? Really good video explaining how you did it.
All I can noticed in your videos are the shirt brand you wear in each videos. LOL
LMAO, I hope that means I have good style!
You do have a good style! keep it up, love your videos.
This is so helpful - great job!
Great video! Cheers from Argentina
This is awesome. Thanks for breaking it down.
Killer man! great commercial
Thanks my dude!
love that shoot...can you make a tutorial how did you do the slowing beats of your music? its amaze me verymuch..
you can possibly but way better stuff…but every time you post a video like this you prove me i can create great videos without spending a ton….thanks for being so insprational
Super interested in how you priced this job. Hope you do a video on that kind of thing soon.
Awesome .. What did you charge for the commercial
Very well done!!!
Would love to see a vid about creating story boards, need more info on that for sure
Thanks Daniel for the info! Thumbs Up
Thank you so much
I wanna know what frame rate are you shooting at? 60p?
i think he shoot at 30fps
Thanks for sharing something I would like to get into
Great work thanks for sharing
Is this the Daniel Schiffer filmmaking university? 😂. How much i learn whith your videos bro...Thanks. Regards from Chile 🇨🇱.
te amo demasiado nojodaaaaa
awesome video! did you use some picture profile?
Wow! thanks for showing us the possibility of making exceptional film on the consumer budget! Can you also comment how you changed focus on the ice cream while moving with the gimbal at 4:20/4:23?
That was really good!
Thanks!! :)
Hey Daniel - just curious about the rack focus' you used on a couple shots - how did you do that and not bump the shot/camera/crane?
Cheers.
Would you recommend the Sony a6300 as an upgrade from the Canon 600D/t3i (rebel series)? I'm looking to get something with a bit of a more professional "glaze" to it - and get a couple of lenses too (perhaps the sigma 30mm + something else?). Also, what do you think of the Zhiyun cranes? I was thinking about the Zhiyun Crane 2, but have just been reading about the DJI Ronin S (little more expensive) - what do you think between them?
Also, how would you recommend saving up for and purchasing new gear? Like, the priority when it comes to upgrading my current setup (Canon 600D/t3i (with 3 extra batteries) + Canon 50mm f1.8 + 18-55mm kit lens (without IS) and a trusty fluid head Manfrotto tripod that I love).
This is so helpful. Thanks man! :)
Love your videos Daniel! I just found your channel, your content is awesome!
Thanks for the inside view of a commercial shoot!
If I may ask, what do you usually charge for a commercial of this kind?
This video was really helpful and informative, can you share how much i can charge for a commercial like this?
Thanks for this! Very much helpful!!! Keep it up! :)
Great video!
love from india bro you are a pro 😍
Awesome video! But I have one question: What is the best way to go about finding music that you can legally use for promo videos like this if your client plans on posting it as an ad? I am making my first promo video in a few days and I wanna make sure I don't mess it up with some copyright problem.
really cool
I really appreciate the information. I'm curious about the talent. How did you find them? Just curious about that process if you get the time.
Im new to this and im really learning a lot. I like how you color graded your commercial. How do you color grade and what is your profile picture when shooting? Hope you will help me
did you place a customized lut or did you color grade it yourself? i cant get over how clean the color looks
Awesome!
Hey! if i am looking into getting into what you are doing is it best to get a fullframe camera?
