Near the end of last year I picked up the RONIN, the OPERATOR, and the VICKERS TACTICAL MASTERCLASS all in 45 acp. Now that S.A just released the TRP in the classic model really want to get it as well. Thanks for sharing.

The more videos and reviews I see the more I want this model. I do wish it had a full length guide rod. But it's nothing wrong with that. Great review. I think they made a great pistol.

I have a Springfield Operator 45ACP and two Garrison in a 9mm and a 45ACP all 5" barrels. I really like my Springfield's and I own ten of them.

Is the 2024 TRP trigger just coated in polymer, or fully polymer?
Also, what grips do you have on the Operator?
i have the contour TRP and im not gonna lie this video makes me want the full sized TRP as well as the Operator 2 with the LOK grips. they just compliment each other in this video with their differences. then again, part of me is thinking well skip the Operator and just get two TRP's! but at that point its like well i can get a $4,000 1911 with that kind of money. and if im gonna get a $4,000 1911 i might as well get a $5,000... do you see my issue here???!!!
Nice comparison! The new TRP looks fantastic and seems extremely well put together here, but I gotta admit I still love what you've done w/the Operator, and might lean that direction. Have you seen the new Commander/Champion length Garrison Model? I need one of those, too. 😅 👍👍
Love my SA Government Garrison model, but I have not seen a Commander version yet. The Operator is a sweet 1911 for sure, and we both dig it, it’s almost a must own. Crazy time on the news, you be safe out there. All the best, Beretta Sr.
Emissary, the grip is narrower, the front strap checking is better in my opinion, and a bull barrel. The between the emissary and TRP, the slide fit with the 4.25" and the 5" models were about the same. I measure the slide fit by cocking the hammer, and whole holding the grip try and torque or wiggle the front of the slide. I just don't see the TRP as worth the extra $$.
I always thought the Professional was the FBI HRT model, did this change?

Yes, professional CRG serial prefix . TRP is not the fbi model.

Great vid with more data points to think about. Springfield for a production value gun offers multiple points of entry for various budgets. I am watching this from a marketing perspective. Refresh on a line. Expand on a line. And drop an item. I don't blame them. Although still remaining in channels, The Vickers Master Class was discontinued. I'm hearing positives about the commander offering. I come from the Anti MIM camp. Have you field stripped the TRP? I have not seen much discussed on this yet. The marketing focuses on TRP, FBI, Hand selected,etc.. This implies (Softly) it is as good as the original TRP, a Custom Shop build. With their suggested MSRP they are pushing into a new tier level to consider. Do you think Springfield with this release is competing with Dan Wesson, Les Baer or Wilson? I think the Dan Wesson is what they are on the level with, or very near to. I would have to look at the DW Specialist to see if they are over that $2,000 mark in 2024. I think I paid $1,800 or $1,850 for my Dan Wesson Digression almost 4 or 4.5 years ago. The Les Baers have almost 30 hours of custom gunsmith work into each pistol. The Wilson Combat is around 20 hours because of all the very expensive machines they use in different parts of the manufacturing process I believe.
I would like to check out a couple of the SA Commanders in the future.
After I put 300 or 400 rounds through the TRP I will take it down & take a look. Beretta Sr.
I was looking at getting a 1911 been looking at the SA 1911 trp should I go with that or keep looking around ? Any suggestions?
They always matched Trp slides and frames with numbers even before the refresh the operator used to come with a bowl barrel and no full length rail they probably stopped the bull barrel because it cut down on production cost
Who can hate a nice fromt strap checkering? I did mine myself on my Tisas SS45R, looks great!
Are they using mim parts in the new trp?
I am thinking on a few of the small parts, but I am not 100% on all of that.

I don't mind MIM grip safery or thumb safery, but donr want MIM on small critical parts like the sear, hammer (hooks engagement with the sear), or extractor. Those should be cut from bar tool steel.
What is mim and why does that material matter?

Good morning, Beretta Jr. & Sr. I love their TRP EDC pistol. Not going lie, I was like. 🤔........ should I add this to my collection. Yes, I 💯 agree and I know it's just a trigger. But, for 2,000$. I expect and demand steel.
We get it, even for $1,900 for the TRP, you should be able to order it with your trigger of choice. That how I think. 🧐

When did FBI HRT transition from their Glock 17m fde side arms as they just transitioned to the 17M MOS.
I think YB is looking into the past. Not 100% sure on that, as I did not add it.
I will take one of my 1911 pistols over my 13 Glock pistols if it is my choice as an EDC. Matter of fact I do just that 300 days out of a year. The other 65 days a year is split between Glocks, Hellcats, Shield Plus, and Revolvers. 😊😎🇺🇸👍🤔. Beretta Sr.

If a buyer has that extra $800 fairly easily, the answer is yes. If the extra $800 is a difficult stretch, then the Springfield Armory Operator is a terrific 1911. It is just the facts. I hope that helps a bit. All the best. 😊😎🇺🇸👍

Was fortunate enough to pick up a used TRP many years ago. No rail and pathetically small tritium sites but otherwise fantastic firearm. 20 LPI checkering is definitely aggressive .
Have been pining for a 1911 with a rail for the past few years, but have never pulled the trigger on one. Pun intended. Just can’t break JMB’s heart.
And as far as that polymer coated trigger, has prevented me from picking up a Ronin, just looks like shit.
I love my Government SA Ronin in 45ACP, but I understand where you & Young Beretta are coming from. I have never owned a TRP before this one in 2024. I am excited to test it out at the range. Stay safe out there. 😊😎🇺🇸👍

I went with the Springfield Operator Elite 10mm. Should have thrown that in the mix, that would have out powered and out price beat both. I paid $1099.95 for mine out the door (new) in NH and love it. No regrets 😁👍

Why would anybody want this when they have double stack 1911’s now?
Not being able to comprehend why somebody might want something that you don't is a very strong sign of low intellect. That hopefully answers your question.
I would just say different strokes for different folks. There is still a HUGE 1911 following. I would like to have 2 or 3 Double Stack 1911’s to go with my 30 Classic Style 1911 Pistols! Know what I mean. It is a love affair relationship. 😊😎🇺🇸👍. Beretta Sr.
Cause a SLIM 1911 is the easiest full size gun to carry ….if you know what you’re doing. not everyone wants to shove a 2x4 double stack pistol in their waistband…. But hey by all means get offended by what someone else chooses to carry …. MYOB 👍🏻

So I just bought the trp in coyote. It’s overall a nice 1911. It’s not as accurate as my Dan Wesson Specialist, which is a little bit of a disappointment since they’re the same price range. The safety on my trp has a lot of over travel and play. It may be going back to Springfield.

My question is why bother with these when you have a Cabot?
Because Cabot’s/ACW are mostly hype they aren’t built up to the same custom quality like a Nighthawk, Sbardella Arms or Wilson Combat Custom 1911.
