"When we're practising, we're not practising to be perfect, we're practising to LEARN" !!! That's probably one of the most encouraging things I've ever heard any teacher say to me 🤩 I really enjoy your FM videos thank you, Angela!
All the great tips for turning to different directions! Thank you!
You sure make it look easy and beautiful!
Love, Love, Love!!!
Thank you for giving us these tutorials. You have spent so much time to help so many people and for free! I couldn't believe it when I found these tutorials. How incredibly generous. You make learning fun but also easy! You have such wonderful way of explaining things that just make it click! Thank you again!
I did it. It turned out so nice. Thank you so much.
I can see why you love to machine quilt. I think i am addicted. I cant wait to get started. Thank you for helping me learn these techniques. I enjoy watching you, especially when you are drinking wine, LOL
What a great video ! Thanks
I'm digging the Churn Dash. That is the second quilt I made after I learned HSTs, with Friendship Star as my first. Still 2 of my favorite blocks.
The leaves and swirls are so beautiful. I'm not new to quilting, but I am still relatively new to FMQ, so lots to learn. Oddly, I can do pretty decent swirls and circles, but I flunked squiggly meander (for the moment). Lol
I broke my wrist before Christmas, and watched a LOT of UA-cam! Jenny Doan gave me the courage to bite the bullet and start piecing quilts! Then I found all your different channels and videos - I have my quilts ready to go and am working up the courage to start FMQ , you make it look so doable! Thanks, love all your videos, thanks for the inspiration!!
Really like that leafy design, especially with the busyness inside the leaves. Isn’t it funny how certain designs really appeal to us.
They definitely do!!
Love the design.
So beautiful.
Without a doubt you are the best quilting teacher I have ever encountered. Thank you for giving us your time and wisdom. I can't wait until it cools down enough for me to feel like quilting.Best wishes from Australia.
I'm going to be trying this tomorrow on a small quilt. Been practicing today. Wish me luck ladies and gents.
WOW your amazing I just came across your channel and I for sure I subscribed to it 👍🏼 I wish I could learn how to do that I just bought a sew machine and I have been watching lots of quilting videos and Free-Motion Quilting ♥️
Angelia I have part of your rulers. Can't wait to use them.
So helpful...thank you 💁
Love how you give a detailed list of what you cover in each video.
Hi Angela, but upon your chanels. I am so thrilled that I did! I enjoy watching other quilting chanels too. But yours is so different in that you nit only show me how to piece the quilt top, you are teaching me how to free motion quilt on my sewing machine at home. I'm sure it takes many many hours of planning and filming to create each' episode on your chanels. I grateful to you for the hours your dedicate to the instruction, humor, and encouragement I find in each video. You teach in such a friendly and non-threatening manner that I really believe I might be able to free motion quilt too!
Angela, I do believe you now have what is called a ministry. These ladies, Karen, Patricia, Karen F, Wendy, Molly, and now their FB "HouseBound Quilters". Look what you have started. Good for you girl. And you ladies stay strong.
She is SO much fun to watch, a great quilting teacher!!! Wish I had a best friend like her :)
Angela, Thank you so much for all that you have done for the "quilting community" who needed that little "extra" to get us going! Your presence and expertise are much appreciated!! Thank you....thank you...thank you!!! (PS: Thanks also for always saying "watch your hands location as you quilt!" Hug around the foot area)----what a difference that makes! Thanks!
Yay!! Thank YOU for watching, I totally appreciate the support!
I remember this design from your book, but your video is wonderful to see it being stitched out in real time as compared to the book photos. Thanks so much for teaching us and all the work you do to make your videos!
Angela, I love watching and listening to you. You are funny and and you make me laugh. I always learn something when I listen to you. Thank you for all that you share-Karen
Hi Karen & Patricia. I also have similar chronic illnesses & am housebound. Quilting is my respite, I also care for my intellectually disabled daughter who has a condition called Tuberous Sclerosis (TSC) she has epilepsy, brain, renal & lung tumors. Love this challenge as I can’t leave the house to attend classes.
Oh my gosh, I laughed out loud “if I want to get this frickin’ finished!” Been there. Love your videos. Thank you so much for sharing your tips and knowledge Angela!
Love to you from New Mexico, Angela! Even though I've taught this design, I still learn so much from you. What positive energy! You're a joy to watch and learn from. Thanks so much! 💘
So thrilled to see a comment from a fellow New Mexican! Don't you just love her! I'm a newbie to free motion quilting and hoping to learn more!
You're so good with free motion quilting. Must give it a try.
I love it❤️ Thanks
Thank you so much Angela! I have been so nervous about trying FMQ. You are such a great instructor & have given me to the courage to try.
I love your sense of humor!
Angela has really opened the door for me and FMQ. My very first quilt had really nice blocks because I have no problem sewing straight seams and pressing. But the quilting! Forget about it! Hearing her say to just do your best and your best will improve over time. Now I. An do a pretty good job.
You are the best! Love how easy you make it look, but most importantly, your teaching skills are exceptional.
Thank you Angela, for inspiring me to get back into sewing! I’m 40 years old and sewed a lot as a teenager. College and marriage left me with not much time to dedicate to sewing. Your videos and cute personality are super inspirational! I may even sew some mini quilts for family members for Christmas!
I am new to free motion quilting. You have given me so many ideas in your series and if you make a mistake, keep going. Your mistake can be forgiving. I can’t wait to try some of these patterns. Thank you for your instructions.
Love the idea of leaves meandering down a curvy line....the filler really adds a lot to the design. I can see this as a focal point of the quilting and it looks like so much fun.
Thank you for stitching the “oops” and showing us how to get around it. It really helps people like me that stitch oops too often to admit. ;)
Heather North you’re not alone 😆
I love it!
FabU!!!!! I am so jazzed by all the tutorials! and I love the Midnight quilting show!!
All I can say is WOW! I love it. I can’t wait to try it.
Thank you for the PDF how to tips on the leafy meander. It was very helpful for me. Love this challenge.
I practiced this pattern on a charity quilt and it turned out pretty darn good - for me. LOL I am going to use it again. Wish we had a place to post photos.
Thank you Angela! I love your videos and your instruction! Looking forward to more! :)
Thank you so much, Angela. I have a comprised immune system too like someone else who commented and spend a lot of time at home. I so look forward to your videos. You have helped me be brave enough to try free motion quilting. I really appreciate you!!
Gale
Oh my gosh! It just looks so beautiful when you put smaller filler design inside the leaves, and around the outsides. Wow! Thanks for sharing this with us Angela!
I only just started learning this today I really only just learnt to quilt and love it, thanks Angela love your tutorials x
I’m excited to give this leafy meander a whirl. Thanks Angela!
Absolutely LOVE this motif - it is my go-to for cuddle quilts for my guild's community service program when I don't want a flowery motif. I also use it for making quilted tops for my local pet shelter! Even though I have quilted it dozens of times, I learned a lot from watching this video and instructions. I love how you combined it with other motifs to get a wilder style and how you used fill within it to make it look elegant!! Thank you so much for continuing to make and release these videos!!
Thank you for teaching this to us.
Thank you! You're an amazing teacher and make learning fun!!!
Thank you, Angela, this is perfect.
I'd call this the Bloomin' Onion pattern. Can't wait to try it out.
Hi Angela, I loved this leafy meander design! Thank you for the coaching and humor! :)
I love this design! Can’t wait to practice all that you have shown so far! Thanks for this series!❤️
Wonderful video!! Thanks So much Angela - very fun and informative!!
Thank you. I love leaves!!
I’ve been loving your leafy meander for a while. Now I can’t wait to try the fancy meander with a 2nd motif inside! I have the perfect elephant quilt that she been waiting for inspiration for the background fillers. Thanks so much for all these great videos. I’m learning a lot. I like the mix of FMQ and rulers too.
Thanks so much! I am so glad you found it helpful!
Cathy Calloway wz
Really pretty design. Thanks for the way you're building the FMQ techniques. Love this series!
It's almost like I have taught this stuff before....lol
This is a great design love how versatile it can be. Thanks again for another great tutorial 😀
I just love it... Really awesome tutorial...❣️ ❤️
Thank you for doing this, love your videos
Thank you Angela, for these tutorials. I have taken some free motion quilting classes at various quilt shows but your videos are so much better. I feel like I can learn at my own pace and your instructions are so much clearer.
Yay! I am so glad that you find them helpful!
Would you be able to use thread that show up better us old ladies u know
Encore des meanders 😜😜😜. Bonne semaine Angela ainsi que les Girls ! ❤️
Thank you, Angela!! That's a really pretty all-over design. Something that's really cool in the leaves is stems! (That would take a lot more time, but if you spread out the ones with stems between ones without, it would make them more special!!) I've already learned a lot from you in the past 5 years, and now I'm learning even more! Love it!!
Thanks so much! Enjoying this so much.
absolutely beautiful!! You are building my confidence!
One more thing...... I forgot to tell you that I tried "Slim" yesterday on a practice scrap. Gotta tell you that I am in love with Slim and know that he is going to be such a valuable tool for me to use. I do stitch in the ditch and am anxious to use for that, it will make that sooooo much easier. I love love love the black and white lines! I checked it out on white fabric and on black just to see what it was like. You gals are going to love that. And the grip is very nice. In this ole gals opinion, what's not to love.....Claudia
Great design. Can’t wait for the weekend so I can try it out. Thanks you so much for doing the programs.
Great video for my sit-down quilting. Thank you!
Thank you! ❤️
I totally LOVE this❣️❣️❣️
thank you for this video - used this on a give away quilt and I absolutely love the way it turned out. I have a few toe grabbers (was able to pick those out and redo) but it is the first quilt I finished that looks like a real quilt. I am very proud of it. I like to quilt the names of a person's children and grandchildren into the quilt. I call them the love quilts. This way you can surround yourself with those that love you.
Awwww......I am so glad that you found it helpful!
You are AMAZING! Last week's came out so good on a little quilt! I'm going to go practice leafy meander now. Thank you!! -Jean💟
Love this! So beautiful as always!
Wow... Thanx, for being my quilting teacher.. Love it. Greetings from Switzerland.
Great tutorial. The leafy meander is a beautiful design and I love how you also shared using it combined with different fillers, as well as swirls. Gorgeous.
I just picked up your first book from the library. I cant wait to try a few designs!!
Thank you so much! I'm excited to practice this one.
Thank you so much this week looks very challenging and will take me outside my comfort zone which I need to do.
Great tips. I look forward to trying this next week during spring break!
Thanks for another great video! Even though I have done this motif before, I picked up new tricks to improve my use of this leaf meander.
I love this and all your quilting, you make it fun
I love your quilting! You make it look so easy.
Awesome, I love watching you quilt. Now I just need to put another quilt together. I've only done one....
I received my 3 ruler set a few weeks ago and I am really loving learning to controll and use them. I am watching every video I find on Utube. You are such a good teacher. Thankyou so much.
LOve the idea of changing texture within the same design....:))
Forgot to say that the variation was great. Allover quilting looks boring to me unless it is on a print where the quilting does not show up much, but you always add a varient in design or size for us that gives it a wow factor. Thanks for that. Your designs are great for beginning AND for later as we develop more confidence - or just get bored!
I really like this. I know I will have to doodle it a lot before putting needle to fabric.
Love this!!
Thank you 😍😍😍
Love it. Thank you Angela for getting me off the couch to try FMQ. My 9 year old granddaughter is really impressed 😊
Love this design, would look great paired with the floral you did previously! The one with a few petals spreading out and then echoed. I really liked that one too, but wanted to put some leaves with it for variety. You are so awesome to share all this with us, thank you, thank you. God bless, and keep echoing.
I love it. Will practice and see if I can use it on my patriotic quilt. Thanks, just in time.
Practice to learn! What a great concept....as I want to be perfect before I practice. 😂😂 Thank you Angela
Wow Thank You.I will practice after my operation . Again Thank You from Australia
Grace Joan Donnelly Sorry to hear you have to have surgery. Have had too many of those myself. Get well soon, will be praying for you, Grace. Aussies are great!
Thank You Marcelle
I’m really enjoying this challenge. Thank you for making it. I just finished my quilt top yesterday. I’m looking forward to putting all that I’ve learned onto the quilt itself instead of just on practice blocks. I’m worried, though, that the extra weight of the full quilt will make FMQ harder. I’ve been really proud of myself for what I’ve been able to do on my samples; but now’s the moment of truth. However, your words “better done than perfect” have become my new mantra. It’s been so freeing to tell myself that. Thank you for keeping the emphasis on learning and mistakes being okay rather than perfection. (By the way, I love the “oops!)
I love this series!! I just finished my nephews quilt using your paisley feather. It turned out pretty nice!!
Yay! I am so glad that you find it helpful!!
You are truly talented!💖
Thanks for all you do Angela! Loved the "oops" on there... Where is Waldo? LOL!
