I hate a thief too. In 2016, my house was burglarized. They got five of my Glocks while I was at work. Fortunately, they were in a hurry to get in and out and didn't get more. I didn't have a security system then, I do now.
The sheriff's office responded with a couple of great investigators who looked at the damage to the house, and I provided them with the information on the stolen property. The serial numbers went on a website called leads online. Within a week, they'd found three of the five Glocks. The first two were pawned in central Missouri about 120 miles from home, and two days later, the third one was pawned in Daytona, Florida. Stolen guns move fast. The last two have never surfaced. The really fun thing is, when your stolen property shows up in a pawn shop, you have to pay them what they paid for the items to get it back. It's stolen. It's my property. Having to pay the pawn shops plus shipping costs was like being stolen from twice. It doesn't seem right to me, but I wanted my property back.
The detectives were able to figure out who the burglars were, and they were arrested, tried, and convicted. The father and son team each got three years in prison and were ordered to pay restitution. Does anyone care to guess how much of the restitution I've received? If you answered zero, you'd be right.

I didn’t know you had to pay the pawnshop back. I thought in our state they lost their money but I’m not sure about that. Be proud you was not home when it happened. My cousin and his wife had a guy to break into their house while they were sleeping and came inside the bedroom with them and got his wife’s purse and the keys to their truck out of it. Also took the truck. They never knew he was there until they woke up the next morning. Thankfully they did catch him and they slept through it and no one got hurt. Door alarms and motion sensor lights are on my list now.
Isn't them buying the stolen property fencing? I don't understand how you'd have to pay them more that is bullcrap :(
@Off-target-xy6bx In my state, pawn shops are protected by law. If they purchase stolen goods, the rightful owner has to reimburse them what they paid. It seems completely wrong, but that's how it is.
One thing is certain if I'd been home. They might have walked in, but they wouldn't have walked out.
@@spoonermanIf you or I purchased stolen goods it's considered receiving stolen property, and the police confiscate it, and hopefully you're not arrested and charged.
Pawn shops have managed to get laws passed to protect themselves in the event they purchase stolen goods. I couldn't believe it either, but that's how it is.
It sucks, it took some thinking about whether or not to buy them back. I bit the bullet and bought them back. Two of the three Glocks were special to me as I'd bought them from a good friend who was one of the founders of our local gun club. He had cancer, which is why he was selling his collection. He passed away not long after I bought them.
Maybee get a better safe then. here in NY that's grounds for for losing your CCW

Lots of Americans wish they had that freedom too, pretty much only have rights here if the government lets you. If you're a nobody and on your own couldn't get justice you have no rights at all in the U.S.

I find the propaganda we face these days to be a more dangerous "assault weapon" than anything that sends a round down range. The 2nd amendment was written for a purpose. In our forefathers wisdom it was only 2nd to freedom of speech. Ponder that for a moment.

The Second Amendment protects the First Amendment. The Founding Fathers KNEW that the rights guaranteed in the First could easily be taken if not protection was held in the hands of We the People. THIS is why those on the Left want to dismantle the Second. It's so they can take the First apart and control the People. THIS is why vigilance is SO important. Imagine having no Second Amendment. In the mid 80’s I was burgled while at work. They took a bunch of stuff but the lever action 32 Winchester special that was given to me by my father hurt the most. It hurts that they stole it even today, sentimental value.
that sucks, we've had a few stolen, one was my son's Tanfolio, which I have one with a consecutive serial number. the ol Father Son set. There's always hope it will come back, if the SN was reported to the police.

I call myself an "escaped Yankee." I'm originally from Oregon, but moved to the Baltimore area 25 years ago or so when I met the Mrs. online. Formula 1 exhaust manifolds (headers) are made of Inconel, so that's an extremely tough material.
I designed forge tooling for 50 years. Our company made many parts out of inconel mostly for jet engine applications! A very tough material for sure. Was a bit surprised at first seeing how it’s used here but it definitely makes sense. Not the cheapest of materials. At least not back in the day. Very cool seeing inconel being used this way! 😊👍
Our heat treatment baskets were made of Inconel. Lasted for years of daily usage
Is a marvel, seeing the advancements, being made, in the tooling of weaponry, with the very same material, you produced for aircraft, and the material I installed, as as upgrade modification, to Boeing engine nacelles. S.O.A.
I haven't watched a video of your in a bit (truly embarrassed to say how long it's been) but this it the first since my father pasted a big influence in my life with guns and this video hammered home every thing he taught me and more.

They use Inconel in nuclear reactor pipework. My grandfather used to weld it. I got my mother a gift yesterday and gave her it today 😄.

(In-co-nel) Inconel is a ‘superalloy’ made of mostly nickel, chromium, and a few other metals. It’s very resistant to heat, pressure, and corrosion. It’s also very difficult to machine. I tried machining it once, and it was worse than titanium. My supervisor at work thought it would be ‘fun’ to make a part out of Inconel. It was NOT ‘fun’ trying to make it on conventional machine tools. It needs a more high tech type tooling than what we had at the time.

My mother wanted flowers while she could enjoy them and I tried to give them to her. Then a rare heart condition was diagnosed and three months later she was gone! The real regret, though was she and my then new wife had just become, not just mother-in-law and daughter-in-law, but good friends!

The "teeth of the second amendment". Now, after all these years I think I finally understand the beginning paragraph of an essay by the late William F. Buckley, where he countered the anti-gun proponents, with the idea that he could think of a particular instance where an AK47 or an AR-15 might come in handy. Buckley re-ittereated a wonderful image of "Ghunga Din" (played by Cary Grant) where he found himself thrown into a pit of poisonous vipers (and Buckley asserted that this was a nice situation to have an "assault weapon" in your hands). Back when I wrote my frowned upon essay against gun control, I really hadn't got the full message and import of what Buckley was getting at, but NOW I see it all so clearly.
Inconel has been used in aircraft exhaust systems for the last 80 years or so, tough stuff very heat resistant.

I got my first hunter safety course and my first small game license with the NRA . Forty seven years ago. Alot has changed about the NRA since then.
Happy Sunday hockok. As to backups, I use Backblaze, which automatically backs up my computer in the cloud for $7 a month. It works automatically. This is in addition to physical backups.

Inconel is a steel alloy. I think it has a high nickel content. It is used in very high temperature applications. I think formula 1 race cars use inconel in their exhaust manifolds.

Inconel is an alloy of Nickel and Chromium. It's used a lot in the Heat Treating industry inside heating chambers. It has a melting point of 2600 degrees.
