I'm a but disappointed. Previous versions were a bit better. It's too much overpriced. I atleat believe they won't do such things with the Omen version of it.
My model is a 16-r0016ns, wich has RTX 4060 and 144 Hz display, although its not great in colors and other stuff. I like the model but, like any budget gaming laptop, it has ups and downs. Among the weak screen (totally repairable with an external monitor), has only one storage slot with a fast 1 TB SSD (although for me isn't a problem, since I have 2 TB external storage for media and backups). The rear air vent is badly designed in my opinion, it seems to me that the bottom of the screen its in the way of air flow. Its BIOS is very weak, very few options. Only allows SO Standby mode wich only allows to see "balanced" energy plan in Window, If you disable S0, you can see the other Windows default energy plans but you won't be able to wake laptop from sleep state by any means. I've worked around that by creating an energy plan for gaming with customized settings, with a registry tweak, wich shows more options in Windows energy plans, one of them is setting the maximum CPU frequency (for both P and E cores), it works even with Turbo Boost Enabled or Omem Gaming Hub set in Performance mode. BIOS has the Battery Advanced Optimizer System, but battery still charges to 100% If you use your laptop plugged in most of time. Also, that system is auto, it doesn't allow you to set a certain percentage of charge. Undervolting or fan control is also not possible on this model. By the way, Omem Gaming Hub is the only way to control fans, once again, an automatic system. In short, my model is one of those that HP says ""don't worry about having a weak BIOS and almost no control of your machine, trust in HP, we do all the job for you". Of course, I'm liking its performance and cooling system is good too. I bought mine for 1115,65 euros, hence I can't ask more for a budget gaming laptop. Btw, I saw you talking about the processor, its strange. My model, If I use it without any restrictions, reaches 4990 MHz (its advertised as a 5 GHz max).

tbh HP have decent laptops and theyre often goes on sale.. this one is really overpriced you can get HP Omen's 16" with 3060 3070 for that price or lower
This should cost 550$-650$ at most. And even at such a price range I'd consider it a niche specific product, for people who either just need the power and don't care about the display (for office work perhaps), or people who will always be using a secondary monitor as their main display.
This laptop seem popular in my country right now. But I will never trust that kind of plastic build, especially the screen hinge. Lenovo taught me a terrible lesson with the hinge designed just like this one.
I am probably alone in this, but I couldn't care less about the refresh rate being 60Hz. I like 60. If I had to choose between two same laptops with one having a 60 and one faster, but the 60 was cheaper I would pick the 60 all the time. But yes, 1500 for a 4050 model feels a bit ouch.

Pls review the Victus with the 6gb 3050 and a budget CPU
That is such a weirdly priced laptop you got there. The HP Victus I see where I live is selling a similar priced laptop but with a 144hz (1080p) and RTX 4060. Strange.
Here it has 32gbs of ram, rtx 4070, 2560 x 1440 240hz display for CHEAPER. Shits crazy.
yea same i got mine like 3 years ago for 1250$ 144hz 1tb ssd rtx 3060 and i71180h, build quality is alright and i can lift the lid up with one finger unlike him for some reason, only issue i had was that the fan made a weird noise when i moved the computer around while it was running, but somehow it fixed it self like after a week
Amazing Video!
Thanks!
Hi. Is there no Micro SD port in this model?
Please review the 2023 vivobook pros , thin and loght with RTX 4050/3050
How is the battery Life ?
3 hours at most. Like most gaming laptops you should use it plugged in
need help picking a laptop out. I’m an architecture major in college (i’m a sophomore) and I need a laptop powerful enough to do renders and use revit and autocad. anyone have any suggestions? I saw this laptop for $1000 at costco but the sale ends next week. I built my pc 5 years ago and after that I stopped looking into pc parts and stuff like that so i’m not sure if this is good or not? (I personally have not had good experiences with laptops)
can you charge it via USB-C?
Does changing the backlit color works?
Thanks
It is a year later, but the Costco version is $899 today.
His 4060 hx version is better than the rog Strix G16 4060 or not
How good is Lenovo loq laptop????
tbh HP have decent laptops and theyre often goes on sale.. this one is really overpriced you can get HP Omen's 16" with 3060 3070 for that price or lower

Just dropped in price to 1,100. I bought this a couple days ago and they gave me a refund for the difference!
It's $800 refurbished at a microcenter near me
Good honest review and yep, too much for too little.
Thanks Bryan!
How tf u got 9 hours of battery on it, mine has a 4-cell 70mah and gives me 4 hours with eco mode on a good day
60hz
HP victus 16 Ryzen 7 s0094ax is good for buying
This should cost 550$-650$ at most. And even at such a price range I'd consider it a niche specific product, for people who either just need the power and don't care about the display (for office work perhaps), or people who will always be using a secondary monitor as their main display.
Show me a comparable laptop for that price!
@@Pencilneckgeek216people like this are people who always think theyre too smart but its not the reality
What???
$600? Office work? Really? L take.
Very nice, but when review HP OMEN 16
I already reviewed it
is it worth it if I bought this laptop with specs ryzen 5 7640hs rtx 4060 16gb with price $917?
In my city, it is sold for $850 !
This laptop seem popular in my country right now. But I will never trust that kind of plastic build, especially the screen hinge. Lenovo taught me a terrible lesson with the hinge designed just like this one.
well do you recommend a specific laptop that you liked?
big red flag, 60hz in 2023 and a 4050 priced 1500$!? this is not it HP
What if i can get it with ryzen 7 and rtx 3050 ti
Can't upgrade SSD? 👈
Can you test msi stealth 17 studio
I got this laptop for 999 at Costco 💀 and it has a 4060 rtfs 144 hertz screen 13th gen i7 and 32 gigs of ram
Costco has the 4070 now for 999
Costco currently has it for $999
3:54 what anime
let me know too
Might as well buy an ENVY laptop.
60hz ...wow . mindblown
I just don’t see a valid reason to pay for this. Even though is not extremely expensive it doesn’t look like a good option to buy.
The HDMI port looks horrifically misaligned, and the RJ45 and USB port are hairy!
Bought legion 5 pro 6800/3070 for these money, wouldn't exchange it for this victus
😒👍 thank you for opening it, its a no go because it only has 1 m.2 slot
I am probably alone in this, but I couldn't care less about the refresh rate being 60Hz. I like 60. If I had to choose between two same laptops with one having a 60 and one faster, but the 60 was cheaper I would pick the 60 all the time.
But yes, 1500 for a 4050 model feels a bit ouch.
chinese and Indonesia ver. has 2 slot nvme
This laptop is 1100$ at Costco rn
Looks like my previous laptop, HP Pavilion.
Avoid it. Bought one with price over 3k and in 3 months left speaker died. Never again HP... and no, i dont want to take it fo repair...

60 hz is a huge dealbreaker for me. I need to protect my eyes
