I strongly disagree. The narration part drives me crazy, he's clearly reading someone else's words off a script aimed at people who know nothing about cars. Everything is over explained and incase you're blind and missed the knob joke they added in a "whoops". The soul of his youtube vids is completely lost, British this and British that, that's fine, but that's Clarkson, not Chris Harris.
I'm fan of both Chris and the original Top Gear Trio. Top Gear is now a brand, and as much as I love Harris, he's certainly not fit to carry on with it. He should get his own brand to feat on the BBC, that'd be an amazing car show regardless of it not being named "Top Gear".

Honestly this review took me back to the Sesto Elemento review. Both Hammond and Harris showed true passion for the cars they reviewed. I always felt the intensity and passion of the Sesto review and (imo) this Vulcan review is up there.
The new top gear is not half as good as it used to be, but this review was amazing. Now, I like the Grand Tour better than today's Top Gear, but this was the better review of the Vulcan. There are to many people hating on one show or the other, but the truth is, for real car fans it doesn't really matter. We're getting more content than ever before, and both shows must do their best to compete against each other. That can only be good for us, is it not?

If you listen closely you can hear the clarksonesque writing in this review. Or is it the fact that hammond tested a supercar on the same track in the last season of old top gear. All I hear is old top gear in this review
No EV could ever set your senses alight like this with its incredible sound. Just look at Chris' face! He's absolutely loving it. Along with the gears and the fact that it weighs 1350kg, this is just so much better.

"This guy" has taken the best cars in the world to their limits... Jeremy couldn't even put the Throttle down in the 800 HP mode. This guy is taking this car to the limits of it's capabilities while explaining in great detail all the technical aspects of it. There is no Car Journalist that can do what Chris Harris Does. Clarkson made it funny? Which was entertaining? I however learned more about the car and it's limits from Chris Harris.

Now here's an opinion that will make some people mad: This little bit of actual car driving is better than what I've seen of Grand Tour as of yet. And better than the rest of new Top Gear's content, as well. Chris is, simply put, amazing. I know this isn't a popular opinion, but Gran Tour feels really forced to me... May hating the sound of the Dodge in the latest episode just seemed so... Dishonest. I know it's supposed to be a show, but rather than doing stupid gags like painting fake pictures, I'd like it if they focused on the cars.

Grand Tour is shite. New Top Gear is shite. Old top gear went shite somewhere along the way. Right around the time they started using faked "races" and "challenges" to pad the show out to an hour. I don't want to watch a "race" that takes up 80% of the episode, when it's obviously not real, since the Range Rover with the cameraman in the back, stayed with Jeremy the whole way. In effect, Top Gear has spent around 15 hours of screen time, racing various forms of transport against a Range Rover full of people, cameras, spares, and food/drink.
There's a company called RML that will perform the conversion necessary to make a Vulcan road legal. At least one of them has gotten the conversion. All the other cars in the OP are road legal vehicles. The Pagani's and Bugatti's are definitely not cars designed for the track so why compare them to a track car unless you were planning to use them all on public roads?

Yes, it was awful. Even though Top Gear has always been scripted (it's a common belief that Jeremy, James and Richard did lots of unscripted banter, but this is not the case), it at least FELT spontaneous. The Grand Tour is just boring.
Chris Harris is the BEST in this business. He makes Jeremy Clarkson a has been, and that's damn hard to do. This was shot masterfully, the dialogue was superior and Chris is superior as a driver/presenter. Chris Harris is what CAN save the Top Gear brand, if they utilize him properly. As a "vs" comparison of the Vulcan, Chris Harris and Top Gear just destroyed Grand Tour by a country mile.

I am really not TG nuthugger, but CH did much better job here. Straight to the point. Drove the car like it should be driven and present it. Clarkson totally wasted first half of review with stupidity around practicality and seeing his "old-fart" entry in car. Im big fan of british humor but that was not funny. Maybe to some 10yr old. This is car which competes with Zonda R, FXX-K, P1 GTR and you start review with practicality?!? And in the end, especially with these types of cars, CH is far better driver than anyone else in TG (except Stig) or GT (not really fan of that US guy). I hope BBC will support CH on these reviews and leave Matt to think on ways to entertain us, but I wont be sad if I do not see CH making stupid jokes.
I Honestly don't think Chris did better. After this review, I learnt that this car is very fast, light and loud. That's pretty much it. The few details he added about the origin of the name and the Honda engines aren't that substantial. After Jeremy's review, this is what I learnt: *What Chris said (fast and loud) *Not road legal (The cars you mentioned above are, so not in the same category) *How much it costs *The price affords you travel to any racetrack + a team that'll tweak it to your preferences and teach you how to drive it at its max power *No handbrake *Difficult to get into if you're fat or big (I guess Jeremy = fat and The Rock = Big) *Noisy breaks *Detachable steering wheel *Windows don't wind down *No accessories whatsoever Yeah, i know that some of the stuff I added there are unnecessary and just makes me seem like I'm biased towards Jeremy, but my point is that i think we all learnt a lot more about the car from Jeremy than we did from Chris. Chris was just going on about how good it is instead of giving an actual car review

If this review is any indication, then Top Gear is as alive as ever. Chris is one hell of a reviewer. In fact, I agree with the few who think that this review is better than the one in T.G.T. The rest of the cast is not nearly as good and I dislike em a lot, but ohh come on. Every time Chris reviews a car, it is a must watch! To the ones that dislike this, you can watch TGT. Such a distinct and beautiful sound.. Reminds me of the vacations in italy, standing outside the Fiorana track in the late nineties hearing the F1 cars testing.. Pure unadulterated music The closest thing I can think of, sound wise, besides late nineties F1 would be the scream from the Ferrari 599 GTO.

This is easily the best video on UA-cam. I don't know how many times I've come back and watched it to be reminded of the sound of this beast. UA-cam needs a "like again" button.....
Now here's an opinion that will make some people mad:
This little bit of actual car driving is better than what I've seen of Grand Tour as of yet. And better than the rest of new Top Gear's content, as well. Chris is, simply put, amazing. I know this isn't a popular opinion, but Gran Tour feels really forced to me... May hating the sound of the Dodge in the latest episode just seemed so... Dishonest. I know it's supposed to be a show, but rather than doing stupid gags like painting fake pictures, I'd like it if they focused on the cars.
Totally agree. Chris is a great car journo and the Grand Tour has been a real let down, feels more like the tat the guys put out on their spin off DVDs
Grand Tour is shite. New Top Gear is shite. Old top gear went shite somewhere along the way. Right around the time they started using faked "races" and "challenges" to pad the show out to an hour. I don't want to watch a "race" that takes up 80% of the episode, when it's obviously not real, since the Range Rover with the cameraman in the back, stayed with Jeremy the whole way. In effect, Top Gear has spent around 15 hours of screen time, racing various forms of transport against a Range Rover full of people, cameras, spares, and food/drink.

There's a company called RML that will perform the conversion necessary to make a Vulcan road legal. At least one of them has gotten the conversion. All the other cars in the OP are road legal vehicles. The Pagani's and Bugatti's are definitely not cars designed for the track so why compare them to a track car unless you were planning to use them all on public roads?

Yes, it was awful. Even though Top Gear has always been scripted (it's a common belief that Jeremy, James and Richard did lots of unscripted banter, but this is not the case), it at least FELT spontaneous. The Grand Tour is just boring.

Chris Harris is the BEST in this business. He makes Jeremy Clarkson a has been, and that's damn hard to do. This was shot masterfully, the dialogue was superior and Chris is superior as a driver/presenter. Chris Harris is what CAN save the Top Gear brand, if they utilize him properly. As a "vs" comparison of the Vulcan, Chris Harris and Top Gear just destroyed Grand Tour by a country mile.

I am really not TG nuthugger, but CH did much better job here. Straight to the point. Drove the car like it should be driven and present it. Clarkson totally wasted first half of review with stupidity around practicality and seeing his "old-fart" entry in car. Im big fan of british humor but that was not funny. Maybe to some 10yr old. This is car which competes with Zonda R, FXX-K, P1 GTR and you start review with practicality?!? And in the end, especially with these types of cars, CH is far better driver than anyone else in TG (except Stig) or GT (not really fan of that US guy). I hope BBC will support CH on these reviews and leave Matt to think on ways to entertain us, but I wont be sad if I do not see CH making stupid jokes.
Chris Harris is definitely better at reviewing cars, but top gear was some kind of a comedy show.
I Honestly don't think Chris did better. After this review, I learnt that this car is very fast, light and loud. That's pretty much it. The few details he added about the origin of the name and the Honda engines aren't that substantial.
After Jeremy's review, this is what I learnt:
*What Chris said (fast and loud)
*Not road legal (The cars you mentioned above are, so not in the same category)
*How much it costs
*The price affords you travel to any racetrack + a team that'll tweak it to your preferences and teach you how to drive it at its max power
*No handbrake
*Difficult to get into if you're fat or big (I guess Jeremy = fat and The Rock = Big)
*Noisy breaks
*Detachable steering wheel
*Windows don't wind down
*No accessories whatsoever
Yeah, i know that some of the stuff I added there are unnecessary and just makes me seem like I'm biased towards Jeremy, but my point is that i think we all learnt a lot more about the car from Jeremy than we did from Chris. Chris was just going on about how good it is instead of giving an actual car review

Thats why I am happy that I have GT to watch with my wife and hope that CH will get budget to do his part. He is amont 4-5 reviewers I watch. Others are just deflated bags.
I was in Abu Dhabi for the Grand Prix the week this was filmed. Let me tell you the sound of this thing is just brutal. But also beautiful too.

If this review is any indication, then Top Gear is as alive as ever. Chris is one hell of a reviewer. In fact, I agree with the few who think that this review is better than the one in T.G.T.
The rest of the cast is not nearly as good and I dislike em a lot, but ohh come on. Every time Chris reviews a car, it is a must watch!
