This game was just out of this world, I don't think anyone expected, at this "game as a service" era, to see a game made with such love and that offers so much for cheaper than any of the generic triple A games being made by giant corporations. This one was made by gamers for gamers. Respect.
It's utterly insane how many hours people continue to pour into this game, a turn based game no less, and their response is not "how do we monetise this" but "how do we do this again". I have such deep respect for people who truly believe in their craft.
I met Borislav at this year's GDC finally and he told me my cover of Down by the River was the first cover of the song, which I never realized! What a journey it's been Larian, since early access dropped I've been so enchanted by the game and as a fellow D&D nerd and game developer, you have all accomplished something truly special and impressive with BG3. Wishing you all boundless success for your future projects, and I'll be anxiously awaiting more music to cover!
@@TrueMaskGames I was an employee on an open world AAA D&D game for 3 years, so I was major stoked to see what Larian was up to during that time. Unfortunately was affected by the many projects cancellations and layoffs in February! Of course I still love D&D and it will always be a part of me.
I thought games were in a rut, that every company seemed focused on microtransactions rather than plot and character. Then in the same year we got Baldur's Gate 3 and Stray Gods, two games what videogames are capable of as a storytelling medium more than any title since Final Fantasy 7 did. They were groundbreaking, innovative, the Absolute (pun intended) peak of what they were trying to do.
It says so much about Larian that in their 1 year anniversary/thank you video the majority of the content is actually focused on the community creations/creativity/content rather than Larian themselves. Never change, Larian. This is why we love you.

I am 60 years old and had never played a game like BG3 before. I was surprised, shocked, a little embarrased and then totally hooked. I got stuck in Grymforge but the online community came to my rescue with advice and hints so that I eventually got that bastard's head! Unfortunately I got to the part where I had to decide whether to help or kill Orpheus and just couldn't make up my mind so I have never finished it. I have played it through to that point about 4 times but that decision wrecks me. I have always had trouble making decisions and was so pleased with myself for getting to that point when there were so many different ways to do things and I had done them without too much angst but that last decision was just too much for me. It didn't help watching UA-cam videos cos that just gave me more things to think about and made the decision even harder. I have the music on in my car, it is so beautiful but I have put the game to one side for my own sanity. I do wish I was younger and healthier though because that cosplay looks like so much fun. BG3 wasn't only a masterpiece of his Genre, in a time where microtransactions and DLCs became the standard for modern games Larian showed the world that is still possible to make a great game that doesn't require additional payment once you buy it. I never played a turn based game like that and at first i was scared i would have find it boring but I've never been more wrong in my life. I got completely absorbed by the environment, the companions and their stories (not to mention i definetely fallen in love with shadowheart the moment she said her first word ahah) and the music...i cried so many times because of the amazing songs they wrote and put in the perfect moments and thinking a game like this was made by a Studio that had not even half of the money of modern AAA studios made me really reconsider when a game is worth buying or not. Thanks Larian for what you have created, with a single game you created milions of stories for us to live and enjoy for everyone. I can't wait for patch 7 to start another run and enjoy once again one of the best videogames ever made. Thank you for everything!
The girl that spoke about D&D and her dad resonates so much to me... my dad introduced me to D&D and BG1&2 when I was a little girl. I feel in love with these stories and the world of adventuring always has been a fabulous one to explore even now as an adult. Larian created grate games in the past, and their irreverent, forward-looking spirit make me believe in the future of RPG/CRPS/Adventure games at large.
Some people would call me dramatic, but I know that a lot of people (you're not alone in this, none of us are) can understand me when I say... this game saved me. Maybe not directly, but it really, really helped making me understand that I had to stop making some bad things happen to me and take control of my life. Especially Astarion's story. This game and his character specifically came at exactly the right time in my life. I have been playing since december, non stop, and I'm still finding new stuff in every playthrough... but most than that, BG3 helped me being more assertive, starting to say no, distancing myself from bad relationships and situations. I can't put into words how grateful I am. Also, sorry for my bad english, I'm Italian. Thank you guys, sincerely. ❤

I always believed in you Larian! When my friends were cynical and said Baldur's Gate 3 would never live up to the hype I said, "just wait, it'll surpass the hype." By my estimations, even my own expectations were surpassed. WE LOVE YOU LARIAN!!!
Let's hope that its not once in a lifetime and their next games will be just as good as BG3. One of the reasons I'm happy that they decided not to do DLCs is that this means their next game will be in our hands sooner because they can focus on making the next game.

@@TheAzorg No need for that since the big update for official mod support is still coming. And in all honesty - it is impossible to include all races, subraces, classes, subclasses, feats etc., its just too much. Not to mention that most people tend to pick the same races anyway - just have a look at Larians own official numbers: The vast majority of people play elves, humans and half elves, a still sizeable but already considerably lower number tieflings, drow and dragonborn and almost no one plays any of the other racesm with halflings being at the end of the line. If they start to include some really obscure races like let's say Saurials or Wemiks that causes a ton of issues, starting with the fact that most of these races don't exist in the game. Even Orcs are not featured in BG3. Lots of work not only for the art design team but also for the animation team etc.
Sad its over... Thanks Larian. BG1 & 2 got me into D&D (a hobby that I still have today) and you knocked the IP out of the park. Hats off to you, and all your future endeavors.

One side is doing something valuable and they do it good, and the other side just wants to experience something that have been longed, and they appreciate when they do. what i love in this world has always been this mutual love stuff, and baldur's gate, larian and the community is one of the best examples of it.

One side is doing something valuable and they do it good, and the other side just wants to experience something that have been longed, and they appreciate when they do. what i love in this world has always been this mutual love stuff, and baldur's gate, larian and the community is one of the best examples of it.

Ich hoffe ja noch immer auf eine Verfilmung als Serie. Auch die einzelnen Prae-Storys der Charakter würden noch so einiges hergeben. Ich fänd noch ein alternatives Ende als nur aus dem Zimmer zu gehen schön, wenn dieRomanzen in den Monschein spazieren würden. Liebe geht an alle raus! Ich verbinde so viel Liebe und Dankbarkeit mit diesem Spiel, welches mich durch eine wirklich sehr schwere Zeit in meinem Leben getragen hat. ❤🧛♀
