I visited this Santuary several times. Last time with my granddaughter - 6 years old - and also she, at her young age, saw that Nathalie is doing a great job for these birds. I love this place.

People dont realize that a bird is a huge commitment. I rescued a yellow nape and a blue fronted Amazon plus a double yellow head. I dont know how old most of them are. The blue front was 37 5 years ago. The sweet yellow nape was old. He moved very slow. He passed 2 months ago. Im still sad . He was very gentle and sweet. So do your homework first

Not every bird is there because "humans are evil". Some of these birds are there due to human illness or death, that's no one's fault. Some are there because people weren't prepared and didn't understand everything that goes into caring for one of these birds. That doesn't make them evil. At least they brought the birds to a shelter and didn't release them into the wild. Of course, there are some people that got caught trying to smuggle birds and they are in the bad human category but most of the birds aren't there because humans are evil. People being naive, careless and irresponsible are more likely reasons, not so much evil.

I had to cry seeing all these neglected amazing birds. It should be forbidden to buy parrots, or any animal, before you have taken a course how to take proper care of these magnifiicent creatures.
I never had a single bird, two at least, that they dont be alone.
Sadly people buy a parrot to have talking furniture, nothing more

Thank you. But this is heartbreaking. All these beautiful birds and the people had the best intentions but they failed. And the birds unfortunately suffer. This solution is the best solution that she has offered but I have a rescue of 24 birds and I am non-rehoming and the birds get love and attention and the best food and they all get along as a flock and I have all different species of cockatoos and Amazons and grays. I love my birds each and every one of them specially and I give this woman so much appreciation for what she's doing but it still is heartbreaking to see this many birds once wanted and no unwanted. I wish breeders would stop and cease to exist. No more no more baby birds. Adopt don't shop. Adopt the birds that are already here that need a loving home, good food, nutritious food, excellent veterinary care, exciting toys, and forever home. Thank you for what you're doing I do so appreciate it. I'm just in tears 🌸
This is a wonderful place and a wonderful woman and supportive family. I have been watching your channel to learn a bit about birds and the many good people that rescue and raise them. I knew that they were a big commitment and could get loud, but some of the videos have shown us just how really LOUD they can get, lol. Even one bird alone can be extremely loud, depending on the breed and bird. Hopefully, your videos will help bring attention to the problem of so many birds ending up in shelters and not being able to be held everyday and not have the intimate contact that might otherwise be better for them.
