Great work being done by someone who truly appreciates the natural behaviour of these animals and wants to give them a better life

7:13 - I think that stand that was wheeled out was donated by my family and I when we gave our African grey Ollie to the sanctuary.

I used to love driving round Louisa. I am indeed a parrot person. Other birds can be cool. I've had limited success getting a parrot to talk for one thing I prefer not to keep one solitary. Getting them to talk, I've learnt not to make that the focus which I hear is a common error. There's just something much more about parrots, including budgies and cockatiels, including personalities

How do you keep them warm when the weather gets cold.

We got a 12v heated perch for Parrot indoors. Really helps prevent colds, and sneezing on cool mountain mornings. 120v seed pads are chew toys. Bzzzzzap.

God put Dogs, Cats and Birds on earth to be enjoyed by humans but unfortunately there are careless and abusive humans.

Matt, I really need your help. I inherited my mothers 22 year old African gray after she passed away from the Covid vaccine. I have a severe terminal disease and I just can’t take care of Barbarossa. He is the most loving kind of bird although he sometimes likes to try to nip me. he has been in a cage all of his life and I just feel so bad when I talk to him because I know he wants out so so bad. I am just too sick to care for him. Would you be interested in rescuing him? I don’t even know if he can fly or not because he’s never been out of his cage except for traveling. it just breaks my heart. I hope you will contact me because I’m at last end. He is very healthy but sad.😢

@ Freaksonatire be gone. What do you feed him every day? My Congo African Grey of 24 years died of genetic issue recently and I’m heartbroken. Hate to say this, If he is caged all the time he probably looks healthy but isn’t. Bird mask illness very well until they just kill over. My bird had perfect feathers and color and looked the picture of health when he died. Even had good energy. Hit x-rays and blood work told a different story.

Is it just me or do African gray parrots look like macaws in grayscale?

Birds as pets have led to wild birds becoming endangered in their native countries.
