The big problem with all the trackers is that if you hide them inside the frame they simply don't work due to signal interferences (or lack of signal). If instead you place them on the frame (bottle cage; backlight) well, they are outside and pretty visibile and i guess easy to tamper with. It's really quite nerve wrecking settle on one of these devices...
I think handlebar trackers are your best bet. The antenna hides away under your grip. The only major drawback is you have to cut the handlebar on that side to ensure it’s the same length.
@johnnaylor9668 28 seconds ago Air Tags don’t work any Apple have decided they could be used for a dodgy wys to track people too so now they notify the thief that an air tag unknown to the thief that an air tag is near, then shortly afterwards the tag starts bleeping so it notifies the thief of its exact location. IMHO an Air tag is as much use as a chocolate fireguard.

Everything was great until you said “subscription”
that's how nearly all GPS trackers work
To send info you need mobile data - either a SIM card you pay for, or a subscription that covers the data
This was really good. Thanks so much. Quite a useful device.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Nice video. Any idea what’s the front rack at 4.00?
You lost me at “subscription”.
any gps tracker is going to have some kind of subscription, whether to a specific portal or to a SIM card
@@roadcc I don't mind a small subscription IF it would be fairly effective service. After all bike insurance is very expensive..
It's an interesting series and idea for videos! You could look into the Hoot (500 or 800); looks worth a try
Bikefinder seems to be really good as well! You should try and compare them!
Would be great if you could ping the device from your phone when you were near the bike/device, like find my iPhone. Looks good though , thanks!
that would be a good feature.

One thing at people have started doing is modding the AirTags to remove the speaker.
If thieves use grinders they could easily just destroy the tracker!
