When I was five I got my first guinea-baby, Wirimu. He had no choice. He shared my weetbix with me, came shopping with me, sometimes I'd sneak him into bed with me (in winter. He lived outdoors), came to school a couple of times in his special carry cage (my mum would take him home afterwards). 7 years he and I were inseparable. Cuddles, kisses, feedings. We got him a girlfriend which cured his persistent constipation. Our vet suggested it as a joke, but it worked lol so a couple litters of babies that were always tamed (I've never let my girls have more than two litters) and sent to good homes (friends and family & friends of friends families, etc...) I stopped keeping them.when I had my own (human) baby because I couldn't give them the time they deserved. Maybe when my youngest is older I'll have a guinea pig again...they brought so much joy to people who met them.
My sister thinks I'm crazy when I'm holding the piggies and talking on and on and on to them but it really does make them feel safer because they associate my voice with food!
After I saved up enough money to buy a guinea pig I bought two males one guinea pig and a skinny pig (hairless guinea pig) I watched all your videos before I got them, 🙏❤️
As someone that just adopted rescued piggies, this is amazing. I already touched the nose of Robin and hand fed her a single pellet. Domino is super skittish so I'm giving him time to adjust while sweet talking both
Thank you I have 3 guinea pigs and I absolutely love them. When I was first starting out your videos helped me sooooooo much. Now they are as happy as ever . Thank you so much!
Being patient and consistent is basically the number 1 advice. My two ladies, Lieschen and Molle, were both tame in their own way. Molle was a verrrrry verrrrry tame pig. She was super curious and used to jump on my lap. I never trained it. She just decided I wasn't a threat. While Lieschen on the other side just minded her own business. She was a "my pace" guinea pig and very slow and shy. But she was very communicative, and always started squeeking first for food. Sadly they past away. But I still love them sooooo much.
Little Adventures is like a guinea pig band that I LOVE to watch & must know each of them by names, I’m pretty sure they all have their own separate fan base 😆🥰❤️
Great video just got 2 boys and your videos have helped me so much it’s been 5 days and we just got a play pen for them to run in! I’m only 10 but you help so much
i really liked reading my favorite book to them . it helps get them used to your voice & it’s quite fun for the owner as well . one of my piggies really liked me from the start , but the other is quite shy . the latter has really warmed up to me !
I made a huge bonding step with the 3 babies of the herd. (they are 2 months old) I've been feeding them pea flakes during floor time and have been getting them to come closer and closer. Well last night they all climbed on my lap for a payment of pea flakes of course :) one actually just stayed on my lap for about 5 mins.
This is so useful... I literally have had my guinea pigs for a long time, I’ve had my 2, nine months old piggy’s for a quite a long time and my older piggy since I was 6.. The little ones are still pretty scared, but they are certainly getting much more confident, where as the elder piggy is very confident with me.
I have my 2 young guinea pigs for 2 weeks now. When they arrived they were super scared and just stayed frozen in their houses and only came out when I was at least one room away from the cage. Now they know when it's feeding time and get excited and wheek for food and just today the younger one allowed me to pet his head carefully while handfeeding them dandelion. They really made a lot of progress and I think by next week they are ready for floor time :)
This is the perfect time for this video subject on Guinea pigs. Sami (my guinea pig), and I were just talking about how I have been super busy lately and how I need to reinforce our friendship. Haha 🐹
I love your videos. I don’t have guinea pigs, I currently have rabbits but hope to adopt a guinea pig or two in the future. A few of your tips and advice have actually helped me with my rabbits. Thank you!!
I love your videos and Lume is my favorite🥰 I just recently got a baby pup. Her name is Little Pig. She now knows when I chop vegetables. She wheeks the loudest I have Pigga and Miss Piggy. 😂
I’m getting my second piggie for a cage mate for my piggie in 2 days! The new piggie is a baby 8-9 weeks old baby, I’m definitely using these taming tips!
Thank you for this video I just got my guinea pig yesterday and my mom‘s birthday I was so happy so thanks for making this video because I need some taping and bonding tips because he’s like two months old I don’t know how much I don’t know how old he is
Thanks for this video! I just got 2 girl guinea pigs today named Abby and Twizzer Abby is twizzer daughter 5 weeks old and she’s really skittish but Twizzer will let me touch her she just gets a little skittish so I’ll keep you updated thank you 🙏
Another great video! Thank you so much for brightening up all of our days! ^^ youre a great youtuber! Also i have a question, can guinea pigs eat leaves from outside?? Have a great day! :)
My old guinea pig, Willow, lived for 6 years, and she was so loving and cuddly with me. After a few months without her, I decided to get another, and eventually a second one. I just got Echo, the first one, and she is very scared, timid, and quiet. I'm having trouble remembering how to initiate the bond with a guinea pig since it has been so long. This video really has helped, but I don't quiet know how to handle a guinea pig with this personality. Do you, or anyone else, have any suggestions for a more timid, scared type of guinea pig? What can I do to make her more comfortable? ( I do plan on getting the second one in about a month, so that Echo has more time to adjust to me and her surroundings)
My piggies nibble and sniff me, they also don’t let me pick them up but let me pet them to sleep, pet their chin and boop their nose. They sleep outside and lie down outside aswell, they do take their time getting up aswell and yawn/stretch in my presence. Is this normal?
My guinea pigs are roughly 2 kg! Are they overweight? Do they need dieting? They are normal short hair american guinea pig one is 1 year 6 months and the other is 8 months old Plz. Help me !!
hi, I have a guinea pig named willow and my sister has a guinea pig (truffle). I got them on Feb 9, 2020. (they were born in October making them about 4 months when I got them from PetSmart. Its now march 29, 2020.) they don't really trust me and they spend all their time in their hideys. they have only been eating their pellets and hay, I watched a lot of your videos on how to bond and build trust with them but they never really come out unless they are eating. I do floor time regularly about twice a day for about half hour each. willow comes out and is curios and looks around and then truffle follows her everywhere. (Truffle is more the scared one, but they are both scared). I don't know what else to do with them because they are to scared. Whenever I come up to their cage, their bedding goes flying because they take off to their hideys so fast, even if im making very slow movements. I don't know what else to do to make them come to their cage door waiting for me like yours do. I have also recently tried to get them to start eating vegtables (I also watched your video about how to wean them onto them by starting with carrots) and I took their pellets away so they would be hungry enough to try them but they haven't touched them. I don't know if they don't like them or if they just don't wanna try them but I also don't wanna starve them. Willow lets me pet her nose when everything is very quiet and shes been sitting there for a bit but if I reach my hand into the cage to pet her she runs away. I have also tried a bunch of different treats but they wont eat them. I first tried to hand feed them but they wouldnt eat it from there so I left it in their cage for a couple hours but they still wouldn't touch them. But please help me with the veggie issue. Should I put the pellets back and keep putting vitamins in their water or should I keep their pellets away and keep trying with the carrots. (I wont ever take the hay away though because I know that's a big part of their diet so they always have acess to hay). Please help me :(
I have a question so I’m getting 2 of them from petsmart when I went they already was in the same cage with a bunch of other ones so when I put the 2 imma get in the new cage at my house so I need to introduce them or they will be okay since they know each other
if they were already together and the same cage at petsmart they could even be siblings. you won’t need to re introduce them since they’ve lived together already but keep an eye on them to make sure they don’t fight
Little adventures, I’m building a huge cage for my guinea pig, it’s going to be 49x29 and I couldn’t afford all those shavings, and I really didn’t want a blanket because I feel like that would get messy. Do you have any recommendations? I feel like wood shaving might be dangerous? If you have any recommendations Of cheap and safe shavings please let me know😊
I tried all of thoughs things last year it worked on one of my guinea pigs but it did not work on the other. I've had him for a year and a haf. What do I do?(I have two boys)
