- Hi guys! I hope you enjoy this fail vs successful bonding video. I was glad to film the two in one video so you can see the difference between pigs who don't belong together and pigs that do. Enjoy 😊

In my experience, having more than one pile of hay is best that way the less dominant piggies can avoid the drama and nibble comfortably to the side.
Same! The best way to bond males is to provide them a large space, separate food and water sources and just let them get to understand they aren't competing. The dynamic between the males in the first part of this video is obviously fighting over competition of a food source. They don't have ANYWHERE to go to feel safe and try again so it results in a fight because they are just constantly getting amped up. They need those hides to wind down for a moment before trying again and they need separate food source so they feel safe eating until they get used to each other and can eat together.
Both my males were highly aggressive to each other, they had a fight fights where they basically turn into a ball of chaos. After correcting the issues, the fights stopped and now they live together and freak out if I take one without the other out of the cage.
Very little food is best. You want them to pay attention to each other not the food.
@@IONullwell that would take common sense not often found in people this lost in life.
“it’s like straight males, they’re their own breed” 😭😭🤣🤣 yes
Rawr
No truer words were ever spoken!
The lack of testosterone in this video is horrifying.
“Calm your balls” I’m going to use this phrase as often as possible now 😂
I WAS DYING WHEN HE SAID *VISION CALM YOUR BALLS😭🤣🤣😭🤣😭
I can’t with the time lapse they went in a circle so many times 😅
Caroline burying herself in the hay is a total mood 🤣
I was praying for the female herd to work after everything you’ve been through this past week with the boys!
PIGGIE SLUMBER PARTY🍾🎉
Omg hiiii
With Ezra & Vision’s circling around the hay I thought I was watching two gladiators ready to fight to the death! Sorry it didn’t work out, and blood was shed, but so glad the girls are getting along well!
At one point I had 4 boys (Charlie, Stewart, Noah & Finn) with only one successful male bond (Charlie & Finn). Their bond was intense, in a good way. It started off with 21 day old Finn running to Charlie to nurse from him, & Charlie let him! Whenever I would take one out of the cage the other would SCREAM out & run around frantically looking for the other. Unfortunately Charlie unexpectedly passed away in September of 2020. I think it broke Finn’s heart. He’s never been the same since losing his adoptive dad. They were together for 2 years. I feel so lucky to have two males bond so deeply.
After Stewart’s passing in October 2021, both Noah & Finn are now neutered. Noah lives with his sister Penelope, & Finn lives with Lola & his mother Delilah.
So glad it went well with the girls!🥰
Austin your piggies are so beautiful they are very lucky to have such a caring dad that loves them ❤ 🐹
I am so excited to see the new cage set up for the herd. (=
I have been very fortunate with all my male guinea pigs.I have three males living together and two are brothers. All the very best to you with your bonding efforts.🤗
I love the little jumps they do when they are showing their dominance
Congrats on your new herd!! I loved seeing all their personalities.
Yay so nice to finally see a herd ^^ hope you can keep bonding your guinea pigs where possible so they are kept as they're meant to
Great video!! The five piggies are still feeling eachother out it seems.. the video of them sleeping in the bottom bunk beds was the cutest Ever!! I hope the group of five are able to work the kinks out!
My herd of 6 girls still have dominance fights ever so often with the middle three. Herd leader and second in command also fight but that's normally for food. Bottom of the herd doesn't fight she's still a baby and the herd sees her as a baby and she'll go cuddle with herd leader. My other three are teenagers and often fight for who's third in command. I never have to step in because herd leader will step in and stop them. Even after the fights they go back to normal. There is a teen leader and other two submit to her, but sometimes they want to challenge it.
I love your effort to try to get them together and let them do their thing. I think I would be scared more
The music choice while time lapsing their encounter was a fantastic editing choice.
Nice educational videos. Love the love you show your pigs.
It was so adorable when they were all in their bunkbeds !!😂☺️
So glad it went well with the girls. Your piggies are so cute😍
I am so happy you finally had a successful bond!🥰
it was like watching days of our guinea pig lives
Thank you for posting this! I have 3 pairs of girls that I would love to bond into a herd so watching this gives me hope!
Supaw glad to see the successful bonding! 🙌 Wanda is soooo cute and friendly! 😁
12:55 We hope his lip gets better soon. 💚
I'm glad the girls are doing well. 💕💕💕💕💕
The piggies in their bunk beds overnight was the cutest!
them piggies sleeping in their bunk beds were so cute omgggg
Brilliant blogg!!!! Really enjoyed it!!!! But I know I would not get piggies!!! I don’t have the time to dedicate to them!!! Love watching them!!! Thank you much!!! Ann from England xxx
I’ve never watched males try to bond and it’s not funny but it’s also so funny the way they square up 😂😂
i also have a guinea named wanda! she has red eyes and is a ginger/brown colour. I loved the show wanda vision and in a few months i plan on getting a fourth piggie and naming her vision. love your videos! i hope to also order from your etsy shop soon :)
that’s so such a cute idea! i’m a big wanda fan too!
I love WandaVision too! I’m planning to name any future pets Wanda & Vision (or just Wanda lol)
@@sadcodplayer same! such a good show
@@ThatAnimalHouse awwww it’s such a cute name i love it :))
My fingers are crossed for the girls! ❤️
I don’t even have Guinea pigs but I’m a subscriber. I love this guy!!
Now we get a new “rearranging my pig room” video and I am not mad about it
Ezra's picture in the beginning just reads "im gangster and not sorry" 🤣🤣
I'm new to your chanel ,but I really like it! My sister have "pigs" and I adore them😍😍😍. You are so polite and you really give so much information 👍😍 🥰Love from Sweden🥰 💖💖💖
A little bit of a beatch 🤣 Going to be bonding 2 more with my current trio of girls today, hopefully it goes like your second one!
Maybe could you do a video on your journey with guinea pigs and where you got them! I love other videos like that!
Super cute blanket!!!
Can you send the money 💸 the country
wandas just doing her own thing
the video of all the girl piggies sleeping on their own beds was so so cute omg 😭😭😫😖 i adore those beds! i hope i can get my 2 piggies a bunk bed one day 🙏
when i was younger i had gotten 2 boys from the pet store and thankfully we had NEVER had any problems with dominance bc i would have no idea what to do
im so happy that you finally had a successful bonding! sorry to see that the first one didnt work out though, maybe if you got vision neutered he could join this big herd one day
I have a herd of 18 piggies, a neutered boar with a bunch of sows. I also have two other males that each live next to each other because the one kept the other from the food all the time even though there were two bowls and two hay racks. Sometimes it just doesn’t work which sucks.
Where do you keep them? Like do they have a dedicated room in your home or a completely separate house in a yard/garden
Awesome I’m glad it worked for the girls. But i was surprised to see so many hides, didn’t you say you would let them sleep in the open. It was of course charming to see them all in their bunk beds. 😍
When they throw their booties to make themselves look bigger i can’t help but to laugh 😂❤ trying to be threatening while looking adorable and throwing @$$ 🍑
That love bite nip was pay back for her peeing in her mouth lol
I also bought one of my piggies from the petstore, because she has bright red eyes she had a hard time getting adopted. A woman screamed at her once and another person said she was of the devil because of her red eyes, but she's so sweet.
VISION LOOKS ALMOST EXACTLY LIKE MY BABY OMG- red eyes and all!! 🥺🥺🥺 i've NEVER seen a cutie pie look exactly like my guinea pig-
Can’t stop watching your content. Made me laugh so hard at the straight male comment cuz you’re so right 😂 ❤ love your energy and listening to your explanations. What is your star sign @The Pig Room
All Your Guinea pigs are beautiful! I love how you refer to them as “ your boys”☺️ what are the pros and cons of owning male piggies, and should they be neutered? I’m all set up, but have not acquired Piggies yet… not sure of the combination I want to start with or just let it happen and see who I fall in love with while looking for my Guinea Pig.
OMG VISION LOOKS JUST LIKE MY GUINEA ROOFUS like identical!!
I wish I could comment a photo but it’s so crazy how identical they look
Praying for everything to work out my boys didn't need to be bonded (they are brothers that lived together.
Great video!!
I'd like to thank you for also stating that sometimes it doesn't work. Our two boars never worked out. We tried in a 2x8' area and the one would lunge, mount, spray and bite to hurt the other. They're still side by side with a small divider but otherwise will even try to bite through bars. Milo is also a really big pig and Zeak is a dominant personality.
Bonding male guinea pigs is very difficult but one thing i learned is you should never ever interact in their fights while bonding. Until there is any actual agresivness like biting and stuff. This all is just how they show dominance which yes it's pretty painfull to watch. 😂
Edit: i am aware he got bitten which is a problem!
Omg that’s what I did too. I got 5 girlies together now. Sometimes they fight but having like some grassed at the middle of their pen is absolutely good for them to bond. Tho lemme see when I bond my boars 😳
Awwwwwwwww yay piggies!!
i have a herd of 7 girls. it was hard at the end of the bonding. but everything is okay now.
Wanda's a little freak LOL
Omg i followed this on instagram!! Also i love your videos!
Like your Bock beer t-shirt, watched your house up grade for your 5 girls. Girls have their issues but easier to match then boys. Multi more fun with herd dynamics then 2 or 3 in homes, if you only had a few pigs matched before you'll love having a herd, all the best with your new herd...
Love your headband!!🥰
I really love your video and your piggies
2:55 I dieddd
I have 2 bonded piggies already but i want to bond my new one sonic. I dont know if it would even out fighting with my bonded over there food. And even thou the dominance? Or would they just fight continuously ❤
I Looove those carriers! What brand are they? Where can I find them?
I love how casually he calls his pet a bitch😂
i have three brothers that fight, not like growling like tussling, they are currently separated any tips on no fights? (they are also 9 months old)
About to try bonding my two four year olds to 2 new females . Fingers crossed they get along
When I got my 3rd male, I just let all 3 of them run around the living room a few times. Then slowly started putting the baby in the cage with them. They get a long just fine now.
Maybe Vision needs a baby female. I really had hope for the bonding. I’m glad the girls worked out! I love the big herd!💓
He would need to be neutered and wait six weeks then. I don’t think he is going down the route of neutering so baby boy would suit him better , fingers crossed 🤞
Yay!!
Is there a particular CBD you use for the piggies and how to you give it to them?
When you do this what do you put under the blanket so they don't pee on the floor?
I loved watching so I know what's not normal behavior I mean clearly I can tell if ones getting aggervated but this let me know also I know u said where u got ur piggy bunk beds at before in a video bit I can find it I just have to have one
Hey man, I’ve been looking for a good fleece blanket so there per doesn’t go through. How good is the orange blanket in this video?
Great video
I'm late to the party but I'm curious about not having a hideout for the whole night... it seems like that will be hard for them. Totally new to the Guinea pig mom life so I'm learning.
I thought that, too. Seems it would be stressful for them constantly :exposed: all night.
Pov: You get random guinea pigs from your parents and they get along so well.
Two boys five years and three years
im veryy happy it worked out for the girls but at the same time sad that it didnt work out with Vision and Ezra
Ur pfp is bootiful Albert
My sows lunged at each other but no blood was drawn I feel like I separated to quickly but they were fighting they’re skinny pigs and was scared one of them getting injured but really want to try one more time
I have 2 ginuea pigs one name s’mores and the other is Simon their both males and Simon is the dominant one but s’mores is way nicer and I need advice
Question: how do they get on the top bunk? And btw I stumbled across your channel and now I'm hooked 🐽
Guinea pigs can jump if they want to
@@ZekeVG wow🤯they are really interesting to watch.
What about jojo and Ezra? I think vision was the issue with both of those bonding sessions. So maybe they would actually get along?
So I am new to piggies and just realized a little too late I introduced my two young boys wrong. They're both a few weeks from weaned I think one is older. They mostly get along now. No marks or blood, but there is lots of grumbles and sounds. Do you think they'll be ok? I'm hoping they willl I wasn't planning on more than 2 pigs and I do have a secondary cage for worst case but maybe not the room to set them both up? getting tight. due to other animals this is the biggest covered cage I can find. I'm wondering if they'll bond in time since they're not hurting each other. IT's been over a week since they've been tossed intogether. Yes I see it should have gone more slowly but whats done is done at this point? Looking for advice.
Calm your balls! He's just trying to eat his hay! 😆🤣
do your piggies not push the grids to escape? mine have figured out they can do that to any unsecured grid panel and they know they can LIFT them and escape that way. My 3 boars have never had real issues but 2 are a dad/son pair and have been together since the baby was 2 weeks old and the third doesn't know he's a boy pig or a guinea pig at all. LOL. He thinks i'm his bonded buddy and the other two mean nothing to him; he just chills. Daddy pig is very clearly in charge even tho he's the smallest pig now.
32:27 You need a baby monitor, lol.
We have had successful bonding, but we’re having a tough time with our boy Petrie. We had a fail bonding session and returned a boy. Then we got Zazu and it seemed to go well off the bat. But a couple weeks in, they keep breaking out into fights. Last night blood was drawn. Is it a fail or is there hope after some time with a divider? Not sure if it is a myth that blood drawn means there is no chance of pair.
If blood is drawn separate them. There is a VERY low chance the bond will work and I would recommend getting them each there own friend and keeping the cages next to each other so they can still get enrichment from each other.
💜
Sounds like you need to get a baby monitor for your bonding sessions I thought about getting one when I was doing introductions with my boy rats they can be a little bit difficult I will probably get one before I try reintroducing my oldest to my two youngest rats my mischief has kinda fallen apart recently
6:31 omg how is your arm doing that
Just FYI, neosporin can be toxic if they ingest it (if it contains bacitracin, it cannot be used orally in guinea pigs). I usually only use it somewhere on the body they can't reach. Bummer that the boys didn't work out. Bonding can be such a hard thing!
Hi! For the time I’ve applied Neosporin near the mouth (only once on another pig of mine), it’s only ever been a small bit where it will not be harmful to the pig. I gave Vision a close look after the failed bonding and saw the cut wasn’t too bad and opted to not use Neosporin and just gave him some CBD. He’s doing much better now!
@@ThePigRoom Yeah after I said that I was like the amount for that cut wouldn't be enough to hurt him lol I'm always just paranoid 😂 I'm so glad the girls worked out, bonding is so dang stressful
@@TheTinyHerd It really is!! I hope things went well for your piggies today 👀
Someone have an idea to convice my mom to go with out guinea pig to vet and buy more things for him?;_; she bought me and my sis guinea pig, ONE, when I was like 8 years old, I'm 14 and I feel really bad for him but I don't really own money and I think he needs a vet but my mom ignores it and my suggestions what to do to make his life better
I say if Vision is that aggressive, then yeaah neutering may help, and hey, bonus could bond him with the girls and he could be with the girls.
Neutering guinea pigs doesn’t change their behaviour it just makes them unable to breed.
I have my Freddy, male pig, who is SUPER aggressive toward lots of male pigs and does not like anyone in his space. I bonded him with my new very young male, Sputnik. After Sputnik hit his teen years, he's been trying to let some energy out (if you know, you know) but Fred will not let him near him. Now I have to wait until he's a little over 1 to try to bond them again. 7 months together and I have to restart! Hopefully, Freddy will mellow out cause he will be 2 next month and Sputnik will be 1.
I really think you should add some hides in the bonding cage. Sure, it will make the bonding last longer, but also it means that they can stay in the bonding cage for days, have a place to rest if things get to stressful and can break line of sight to avoid that ‚gladiator stare‘ that the boys had. While bonding my bunnies I always followed the rule for hides amount: Number of bunnies plus one as bare minnimum.
I know that the arena-like bonding is pretty popular but it‘s more dangerous, the animals get hurt easier and they would be way more comfortable with places to hide.
Not to trash on anyone, just my opinion, as an owner of prey animal that turn ballistic if their territory is threatened :D
With guinea pigs you should not use hides until they've had the initial interactions. Not being familiar with each other and immediately fighting over hides can escalate things very quickly before they have had a chance to ever check each other out. It's actually safer than two pigs fighting in a hide and injuring each other before you can get them out of the hide. I've been able to tell multiple times that I've put hides in too soon. Guinea pigs also should not need to be in bonding pens for days, you generally know within a couple hours if it'll work or not. I haven't don't bunny bonding before, but from what I've seen and read it's a pretty different process than guinea pigs.
@@TheTinyHerd I haven't bonded pigs myself, true, but as much as I researched the bonding process is pretty much the same except pigs should know each others scent before the bonding and bunnies shouldn't. The rest is pretty much the same. If they hurt each other in the hides it seems to happen in hides with just one entrance which is an absolute no-go. Also forcing them to interact seems more stressful than letting them do it in their own terms. I'm sorry but this just seems more logical to me. For prey animals forcing them in an Arena without a way to hide just doesn't sit right. As I said that's my opinion, and the opinion of most better online sites I could find after some research. And yeah my bunnies also fought over hides. Alot. But it's less stressful than not giving them a chance to get out of sight at all.
@@DarkDemonOfHel bonding is stressful regardless, I personally just like to have it be as short and sweet as possible. Everyone has their own opinion on bonding, so as long as it works for your animals then that's the best for each person. I completely disagree with guinea pigs knowing each others scents ahead of time (depending on how it's done) for instance lol and I have never seen that be recommended anywhere until youtube in the past year 🤷♀️ We all are learning as more people share their experiences so if better things are found then it's good to share. That's just my experience with hides with my bonding sessions. They do need hides, I just don't introduce them until I know they aren't going to lunge and attack each other. But I also don't talk to them or move around, I pretty much make the environment as quiet and calm as possible and sit very still and quiet nearby just in case.
@@TheTinyHerd yeah that's why it should be as stressless as possible. I do agree with most parts. It's just that stare between the boys that I think could be broken with hides. And I prefer longer bondings just to keep fights at a minimun when they move to their true enclosur. But yeah true. Well as long as noone tries the panic box method it's fine.
