could you explain how you know which colors to pick for shadows and highlights after you have picked a skintone? im so confused >--

This was super helpful, and your art is gorgeous! May I ask how you get that texture? I have tried importing paper texture files before but it never works the way I would like it to.
Thank you! 😊 I dont use paper texture for this effect. We have these texture brush on procreate and those are the ones I use. U can check out the texture tutorial on my IG highlights to know more 😊
I have tried my hardest to follow this tutorial but it is hard for me to understand how to pick the colors. Is there any chance you could do another skin coloring tutorial but let us see which colors you are picking? That would be super helpful!

Hi, I have a tutorial on how I set up my canvas before drawing, you can check out my IG highlights, it’s also pinned on my tiktok profile.
For shadings and highlights, I only use lighter and darker colors 😊 I also go for warm colors and rarely use cool ones like shades of blues.

I make it a habit to make different layers for everything hehe. So the shadings for the lips, eyes and the whole face are all in separate layers so I can easily move things around. The outlines for the lips and eyes are all in different layers too 😊
