This is why parents need to be careful not to exclude existing children when new babies come along.
@@sirsandknights try to make her join baby activities, like showering dressing and playing. From what i know this helps when they get older and have a baby of their own. And it also helps if you maybe buy them a baby doll too(depends how old they are) and say things like "you are just like mommy.". In gemeral just dont exclude them, don't punish them if they do anything bad that is conected to the baby(they will think its the baby's fault. Its better to just tell them nicely and maybe help them improve) and try to make them have a bond with the baby. But dont force them if they aren't interested. Now it depends on the toddler tho
@@sirsandknights you will do well. Include your toddler and give them some responsibilities towards their sibling. Show them that their sibling is a part of them by allowing them to do things for the baby. I know it might seem like it's too much but little ones are so capable. Changing the baby, feeding the baby, bathing the baby whatever you do include the toddler. Something as simple as the toddler handing you the nappy and wipes whenever you change baby. Toddlers become jealous because they are given all this love and attention but then all of a sudden they are pushed aside. Begin to include them early on. From when you know you're pregnant Start to talk to them about the baby. Buy a gift from the baby to the toddler and include the toddler in choosing the baby's stuff like clothes buggies carseats whatever you're doing include them. They will feel a bond before the baby is even here. When parents don't do these things and then all of a sudden there's a baby in the house taking all the attention the toddler is confused and now left without getting as much attention it can be very hard to process. You've got this mama
@@lucianatanase6932 true my mom did that when my new siblings were in that situation tried to make them play and not fight for each other
Essel It is going to happen no matter what. You just have to control it well. I hope you have a safe delivery
I think it helps that the baby has to grow inside the mother first. The baby may not be a fan that it can’t sit on its moms lap for a while, but it somewhat will recognize that the new addition will bring some changes to the attention received and that it isn’t some rando-this is based off having four godchildren who are all under the age of 7. That said, you should be more fearful that the newborn is perceived of as a toy. I don’t know how many times I had to rescue the youngest at the time from the older sibling. Pure intentions and a laugh from me aside, some games were terrifying like: jump over baby and brush baby with hard bristle brush while I barely have hand eye coordination.

I don't think it is jealously. They fear for their survival at an innate level when they realise that the source of all nourishment, protection and affection can be taken from them. It's quite upsetting to watch their distress.

This is correct.
To an experienced parent, it looks more like children were responding to feeling neglected, not out of jealousy. They are old enough to know that a phone call or a book is going to end soon. If that book or phone call went on for too long, they would start to behave the same way. My toddlers have tried to close my book or take a phone before.
The baby said, yo can do anithing but not leave me by anybody. Then jealousy appear when have self conscience.
@April they’re trying to get rid of what she is neglecting them for.
@April I already spoke to that already in the back half of the comment.please see the prior comment.
Parents having another child and you being neglected are the same thing.
You're losing out on resources.
A chick rejecting you and a chick going with your mate are the same thing.
Well, technically, if the mothers took too long on the phone or a book, their babies would get impatient. If they picked a _favorite child_ outside of that, then they show their aggressive jealousy.

Hersh Shorsh in humans is more people who are assertive rather than agreeable.
That’s mostly baby’s and young kids
rendrick Luna Mostly kids? All the whining, calculating narcissism from grown adults that drives the attention seeking entertainers, media representatives and politicians let alone the selfish siblings and relatives we all have. I believe my reaction as a child would have been to just walk away. Grant it I’m a bit introverted but some of it has to do with the pathetic cravings of my sibling whining at every little perceived slight or seeking to control his mommies affections. If the parent pampers them then you will have an adult child and it’s sad but I see adults like this everyday. Should one whine, play the victim more to gain ground or stay agreeable and stable and get little to nothing.
It worked in the stone age but has no effect nowadays.

"Clear signs of jealously". Yeap that's exactly how I act when I'm jealous 1:23
Imagine what would happen when they get a younger sibling.
Jean Nelle I was thinking the same. They look like they’re about a year and a half tho so it could be normal they act that way
It wouldn't be as bad because in real life if your toddler started getting jealous of their baby sibling you'd try to give them some attention too, not completely ignore them as they cry like the moms did for this experiment.
AligningDucks and they would have longer to adjust. This was fast with no warm up.
That's why it's best to space siblings out a few years atleast, mine are 2 years apart and that was too close i found out 😑
It really depends on how parents handle the situation. It’s really, really, REALLY important parents try to pay attention to both children and not just the youngest one. Imagine if parents acted like this not only for a moment, but kept focusing on the newest baby for years. How do you think it’d affect the oldest child? Sadly, by personal experience, I know it’s devastating and causes lasting effects, as a child you feel like going crazy, you can’t really understand why you don’t have your parents attention and love anymore. I can’t describe the extremely intense negative emotions a child experience in this situation specially if this continues over time, and yeah as a child you end up hating the sibling.
