Paul, Nice video I have an 02 en-450 and can tell you to be thankful the de compressor is gone. They had a nasty habit of breaking apart and causing lots of damage. Sweet looking bike though not many left running sadly.
Wouldn't vapor blasting have been the safer option? Then you could have just polished afterwards. Im sure the cam still functioned fine after this but id be concerned about the material removed even if miniscule and also hardness etc... for durability.
You are a good machinist and I enjoy watching the videos but I don’t like the idea of sandblasting and re-grinding cam lobes since they are case hardened.
@@PaulXchannel no count it works well. Reliability would be a concern but I’m sure you didn’t even get through the case hardening on the cam. It’s just for me I’d rather have a new part and not worry, could you even get a new part for this bike?
@@robytm I dont know, i dont think it makes the faces as smooth and i believe there was very little material removed. I am not an expert so dont quote me on this.
not true. I have 300+ mth on my 503 SM and yes, now it needs a rebuild, but I can say I also abused the bike on a circuit. Yes they are sensitive on oil level but once you check it regularly it lasts long.
Its always these small chanels that has the best content
@Aryan Bryant that was realy random?
@Danny Lionel ur not gonna convince anyone with that bullshit technique
Absolutely love all the ingenuity of your home made machining tools! Very well done!
You sir is who I wanna be when I grow up...I wish I had your machining skillz!Love watching your videos!
I can't stop admiring your inventions.Super
Thank you very much
Nice video. I think you should support both end of a camshaft for avoiding vibration/chatter.
here again, your attention to detail and tolerances, outstanding, take a bow machinist
The profile and lift will be different by grinding the base circle so much and what about the surface hardening?
Do not worry.
Nothing changes.
It is just 0.05mm on 6.5mm stroke of valve.

Great work as always ❤️❤️
Hey Paul, it's a clear and clean work if I may say so !
Nice, but no master? I would love to know how it goes long term. You definitely took your fair share off the ramps.
Another great video and your camshaft grinder is just awsome 👍
that camshaft has really tall lobes with pretty extreme angles
What about surface hardness and cam lobe lift value In this case could you explain please
Nice work man
Thanks
kerja yg sangat teliti 👍

Very nice. I need my 503 head redone with new valves and bearings, too.
Do you have a video cutting valve seats for the 503?
No for this model .
How can I contact you in private?

Hammering onto the shaft (into cold head) with power flow from inner race via balls into outer race? Is this good idea?
Do not worry . Outer ring overlap approx. 0.01-0.015mm.
Very interesting! Subscribed and liked. What kind of polishing wheel was it that you used on the cam lobes?
They are addictive , yous recordings of course the best REGARDS Ziggy Canada najlepszego zycze
It is very professional, and full of technology, sỉ😊👍
Thanks
@@PaulXchannel yes thanhk
I really like it, greetings new subscriber
Молодец и красавчик👍
Good job
Miałem takie moto fajna manufaktura👍
Does the cam need to be re heat treated ?
because the minimum material has been removed - no need
kamu menggerinda camshaft tanpa mengukur,? itu akan merubah titik sentuh waktu buka tutup klep.
Great bike!!
I don't understand why you grinded the cams.... in the video they didn't look so bad after removing the rust.
Because the camshaft was rusty.
Because of oil lubrication the faces need to be very smooth
🧠👍
Don't you think that a fine polishing could restore the roughness, without removing material like the grinding operation ?
@@robytm I dont know, i dont think it makes the faces as smooth and i believe there was very little material removed. I am not an expert so dont quote me on this.
Li sistema è quello però molto vecchia 🔥
thank you germany
Saya suka melihat kamu menainkan mesin bubut
Awesome
Где найти запчасти на такой мот кто подскажет ?
Такие сложности с очисткой деталей можно было и вд40 очистить
Those vertematis broke down just 10 minutes after they got rebuilt lol
Rebuilt by you then?
@@patverum9051 😂 nice one, but no

nejaky kontakt? pre buducnost ak sa nieco vyskytne ;)
The manufacturer is still not correct, is it?
Grinding cam profiles without a master interesting
Reupload?
I accidentally deleted the video :(
desastroso , le inventa el perfil a la leva , no usa plantilla en la maquina ( nada mas y nada menos que a una leva para rodillos)
Eso estaba pensando, ademas el grano de la piedra tampoco es el adecuado
Ramp angle less
polydyne correction factor gone.
hello if I could contact you
🤑😎
Holla my friend,
Can you teach us how to repair a primary gear on cub motorcycle.
