Hi. This video shows - step by step - repair of a motorcycle shift lever - material of new shaft - 42crmo4+qt . . . for more interesting videos click ,, HERE " / @paulxchannel
I was born in 86 so I can imagine how this shifter must feels to be stepped on over and over again and treated like you owe it money😂😂😂 Awesome video man and killer job on the resto!
Good job as always. This threaded hole prevents sliding but weakens the shaft end, under normal circumstances this sliding cannot occur unless the thread in the lever is damaged. If the thread is too fine from the start you can use a Helicoil insert, in aluminum it works fine. You do not use heat treatment? Sorry for the spelling, I used the translator.
Hi Paul. Fantastic work, just subscribed to your channel after watching a few videos. Do you offer services for CNC milling? If so what is the best way to contact you? Looking to have some rearset plates made in 7075 aluminium. The original ones are cracked after a small crash. Kind regards
Very nice. Saving old machines is appreciated!
I would love to see a shop tour video! Amazing work 👏

Yes buying a shift lever, restoration, so I've been doing restoration for a long time
Bonjour quel type de traitement avez-vous fait ? Quelle température ? Combien de temps ? Est-ce une trempe avec revenu ? Merci
Great job .can you making bucket valve with shim . Diameter 31mm .L 23mm . Shim 2.7mm.
Brilliant.
just stumbled onto this. I need to do the same thing for my 74.5 Maico 440. How did you determine what knurl to make the proper spline count?
I tried to compare the knurling wheels on the flood shaft and then I practiced for a long time on the lathe : )
Parabéns top
Damn good work man
Great work 👍👏👌
Excellent!
Grossartig !
What a job... 👍
What are the odds that the knurling tool is going to cut the exact number of splines needed to match the shift lever?
There is a lot to test
There is only a result in the video.
What name has that knuring tool for making spline’s? Or where to buy? Need one for restoration of a 1980mod TS50ER!
Ebay
Hello very good video a question where did you buy that Knurling
Thanks.
Ebay.

Masterly done.
Am i to assume the parts are not available where you are or are they horrendously expensive to buy new?
Thanks.
Old motorcycle - no possibility to buy parts.

As always nice work. Just curious how you choose your material
material of new shaft - 42crmo4+qt
Or, 4140/42 - good stuff, especially when heat treated.
Magnífico
Only think missing is zinc plating :)
is immersed in oil
Nice 👍

Зачем заниматься херней? Лапку купил, а вал что - нельзя купить?! О_О
Why do bullshit? You bought a shift foot, but why couldn't you buy a shaft?! O_O
Who molested that poor bike / motor??
All the faffing about about twisting and looking and rolling, just get on with it
