My Carry Gun - CZ P01 Compact 9mm

- It's been a while since I directly addressed what my carry gun is. Yeah, I've done a little shuffling of pistols the last couple of years, but for the last almost 2 years I've carried a CZ75, or a variation of the design, as my defensive pistol. I break it all down in this video for you.

This video convinced me. Traded the g26 for a po1. It's incredible, love that the decocker lowers the chances of being decocked.
The decocker is so you can carry it loaded hammer down right?
@@jacobmarshall2907 yes
Lmao
@John Kale why is that lol
How do you like it after 2 years
I carried glocks for years. Bought a SP01 Tactical Custom....Now my G17 lives in the safe. Bought a Cajunized P01....now my G19 lives in the safe.
Yeeeet yyyeeeeeett!!
@Jason Somers If it's too heavy get a better belt and holster. I currently carry a Smith&Wesson M&P 2.0 9mm 5 inch fully loaded with 124 grain xtp. Is it heavy yes, but I have no problem carrying it even with my plain thick leather work belt and country style belt buckle. I'm using a basic polymer holster and its steel clips ate about 5 inches apart. I put the clips on either side of my 3 o'clock belt loop of my jeans and run my belt through clip loop clip and dont have any issues that way. It is very comforting having a 5 inch barrel with 18 total rounds in the pistol and another 17 on standby giving me 35 rounds on my person with only 1 backup mag.
@Ygor Lebedev love that quote
Sell em
Sold my Glock shortly after I bought it and I had never heard of CZ until the guy at the store suggested them to me. I’m so glad I listened.
I bought a 75B for my first handgun for about $650 back in 2018. Since then I've gotten a G17 and a 1911, and the 75 is still my best shooter. Love that gun to death
Same except different other pistols. that old heavy gun slaps hard.
So, almost 2 years later. How about an update on how the P01 has worked out!!!
Jake Minton
Absolutely
Hell yeah!!
Agreed. I’m thinking I may get a RAMI or the P-01. I carry a Glock 26 currently and I am torn between the two.
Well per a recent video he seems to keep it in his EDC rotation
@@vulture8878 Go P-01 or even better for CCW: P-07. The RAMI is just... Ugh, Well it's one of the only CZ's I've ever held that doesn't fit my hand well (large sized gloves). I have a P-01, P-07 nad G19 and of the 3 the P-07 is my favorite over-all. I love the Glock cause... well it's a Glock. I'm pretty sure I could rebuild several internal parts from a soup-can and it's just bare-bones reliable. THe P-01 is an ergonomic wonderland with the LOK Palm-swell grips but for a CARRY gun, the P-07 is like a combo of the two guns IMO. It's lighter and polymer like the GLock but it has similar ergos and equal accuracy to the P-01 and mine's chugged through over 5K rounds in almost 5 years and never had a single failure (it even feeds reliably from my P-01 and SP-01 mec-gar mags HA). If you go P-07 OR P-01 you can't go wrong.
Switched from a glock 19 to a sig m11-a1 and a west German sig p220 that I carry at the 3 o'clock. The piece of mind with your thumb on the hammer when holstering is priceless.
“I am a man of simple tastes easily satisfied with the best.”
- Winston S. Churchill
Also Beau Brummel!
Winston Churchill was possibly the greatest man of the Twentieth century. He had immense physical courage, demonstrated by his service in the Boer wars, India, Afghanistan, the cavalry charge at Omdurman, and the trenches in "The Great War".
Britian fought WWII from the first day to the last day.
When a reporter asked him, How will history remember you".
He replied. "History will be kind to me, for I shall write it."
And so he did. Six volumes!
@@kentnordland5034 "If you're going through hell, keep going." His bravery and willingness to take the fight to anyone at any given moment is certainly something we need more of these days. I also love the fact that he smoked a quarter of a million premium cigars in his lifetime.
@Bokehify How dare you sir. You do realize that Nazism was a bigger problem at the time, correct? He used the Soviets as allies against the Nazis because he knew it was the necessary evil for Britain to succeed, and afterwards, he basically turned on the commies to fix that problem. Churchill was a classic liberalist and loathed communism and socialism since he was old enough to understand it, so that tells you how dire things were at the time.
@@MH-nu4ip OK, nazi. Everyone knows Winston was a wardaddy, he had a thirst that only the strongest men have today. Shame on YOU for spreading deceitful information. "Ohhuehuehue they wanted peace and happiness" - Was this before or after Hitler planned his invasion of the Polish homeland, a nation to which Great Britain and France had guaranteed military support if it were attacked by Germany thus starting WW2? Mind you A.H. signed the Treaty of Versailles 19 years prior to END a world war. He only signed it so they wouldn't get wiped off the map, they were losing badly so he signed it and released the countries they overtook. I remind you that Germany opted to support Austria while France and Britain HAD to honor their treaties with Russia when the Austrians took that assassination ordeal personally(naturally) and marched on the Serbs, this included Churchill. You assume I praise Churchill blindly? Mistaking my praise for Churchill as if I held him to the highest of angel-like standards as a significant political party member as if he weren't a high ranking military officer with a sworn duty to his homeland? He was instrumental in winning the great war, he shaped Allied strategy in the war, and in the war's later stages he alerted the West to the expansionist threat of the Soviet Union. Hitler simply took it too far and got his ass kicked as a result, he couldn't even face his enemy, he took the coward's way out, something Churchill would've never done.
I've been debating about a RAMI versus a P-01 and your information helped make my decision for the P-01. Thanks for all the great info!
Thank You for another excellent vid, Tim. You're one of my few, trusted channels. CZs have many loyal fans for good reasons.
Too fast reholstering is part of the cause of NDs. There's good reason to practice fast yet safe dews, yet no good reason to reholster quickly.
Be smart, be safe, move slower and more deliberately guys when reholstering.
Hell if I've had to unholster I'm keepin the sob out till me or the problem is fixed...then I'll take my good ol time puttin er back in
Yep. You have aaaaaaalll the time in the world to holster your gun. Don’t rush it and hurt yourself in the process.
Having a safety and engaging it before holstering is good practice
Just make sure you aren't holding the gun when the police respond to a self defense shooting situation.
You should run the P-01 through the gauntlet. I really like my P-01. It's been my carry gun for a few years now.
I also love my P01 that has been Cajunized as well. I only discovered CZ's about 6 years ago and now have 4. Love 'um.
This is all exactly why I carry a CZ Compact PCR, and appendix too. That extra level of safety when re-holstering.
The jokes on you, my wife has been unhappy for years!
HA!
I was fixing to say, it might make them happy.
mtsEnrique lmao
lmfao 😂 you won
mtsEnrique lmao
Would love to to see a pure CZ video. I really want to see how you CZ Bren 805 is doing and how mean rounds you have through it, and if you have had any problems. Looking at getting it as a new rifle. Would love to hear back from you. We all really appreciate the videos that you do, take care MAC stay safe.
I'd love to see the all CZ video! I'm Interested in learning more about them. I recently transitioned to appendix as well and life is sooo much better! I bought the Beretta PX4 compact for the same reason you went with the CZ (DA/SA, etc.) I'm extremely happy with it.
Are you still carrying it ?
He is
Absolutely love my P-01. Great gun stock. With CGW parts it's unbelievable
Love it! My EDC is a CZ 75d PCR. Same gun as your PO1, minus the rail and plus a chamber indicator. It's wonderful and is going to Cajun soon for some cool stuff.
Test the Cz in the mud!
I have one of the kore belts. I used it when I went on protection details. I hung a G17, 2 mags, a baton, a flashlight and a radio on it while on any detail for over 2 years. It held up perfectly.
I just want to say of all the UA-cam gun channels I do prefer yours. I also watch several other channels and you are indeed my favorite. Thank you for your in depth reviews and your commitment to the 2A community.
I own a CZ PCR, I love it. However, after investigating many UA-cam videos I was surprised to find a design flaw which TYM, Hickock, GunsNGear, and MAC never mentioned:The stock roll pin from the factory which detains the firing pin is too soft. Often dry firing or even normal use will gouge it and ultimately break it.CZs should only be dry fired with snap caps, some people even put a little rubber O-ring over the firing pin in the rear if they wish to practice technique with dry firing. The best fix is apparently to order a hardened roll pin from Cajun Gun works. I noticed some parts breaking on CZs detailed in other UA-cam videos by real CZ heavy users. The big gun channels and fan boys never mentioned the roll pin issue or other issues.
Generally speaking it takes quite a while. Firing pin retaining pin and trigger return spring are the spare parts to keep around, but it's not like they break often.
But if you want longer service intervals, the CGW FPRP and TRS are much higher round count parts.
The best fix is to use a snap cap
How many times was the P01 dry fired in testing before failure ?
Update: I ordered a hardened firing pin retaining roll pin from Cajun Gun Works and had a local gunsmith install it with a couple of springs too. I still use snap caps but I do dry fire the gun without worrying about it.
I would love to see an overview of CZ-75 guns. Both from CZ and the "clone" manufacturers. IWI, Sphinx, EAA, etc..
lots of good reviews on the Tri-Stars. but safety only, no decocker. and Turkish, if that matters to your international politics...
Ramble on, Tim. You always give us good stuff. Thanks for all you do.
As a fellow CZ fanatic this video made me happy (although conversely I'm actually carrying my new Gen 4 G19FS more this summer as it hides better then my P-01/P-07 with just a T-shirt and shorts) such incredible firearms, the ergo's the accuracy the build quality, all top notch... NOW, if CZ would just get on the ball and make us that 10mm CZ some of us have been crying for for years... well I'd be very happy. I feel like MAC would be on board for a 10mm CZ.
Love your videos..I also traded HK VP9 for CZ PHANTOM...I am a CZ nut.. I now have CZ p10c, czp09, & phantom...it's a disease lol. Keep up the good work
Thank you very much for the warning about the VP9 spring update.
I wonder if mine is undersprung. I didn't buy anywhere near when they first came out and I know, like Sig and others, they'll just subtly "upgrade" lines when issues are found. I'm fine with that, I just want a safe reliable pistol. Still haven't sent my gen 1 P320 in for the recall mods yet either!
Great review MAC, I really appreciate the info on the type of holsters you buy for your CZ pistols. I have a kydex holster for my CZ-75D PCR and it works great, but now seeing this review you did I'm thinking of buying the holster you got for your CZ compact. Thanks MAC
Yup d/s action is good to have specially for your carrying style, i carry on the side iwb so any gun configuration will work FOR ME.
It sounds like the SIG P229 with SRT would have been a good option for you also. About the same size and capacity as your P01, with a great trigger from the factory.
Love your Underwood Ammo tests. I carry Underwood Extreme Defender as well.
Very nice summary of the CZ pistols available for carry. It was informative and very easy to watch. Cheers!!
Just picked up one after watching your awesome video. What a great feeling gun this is in the hand. Can not wait to get some rounds down range. Thank you for the videos!
I carry the P-01 Omega daily in a Harry’s holsters Aiwb, it is extremely comfortable to carry and conceals very well. It’s a great choice for edc in my opinion
What’s your height weight and build?
Actually, I think the reason you gave for getting away from the Glock 19 was that the trigger guard was too small for gloved hands. That's what you said in the video. I remember.
As always, honest and extremely thorough. Keep on keeping on and God bless America
I have been trying to decide on a new carry (over my CCP). Our area doesn't have a range/club w/the variety of firearms for renting that I have in consideration, so videos like this are greatly informative for helping me collect as much data on firearms like this (short of being able to put them in my hands). Of the carries that I'm considering, the CZ P-01 Omega is in my top 3.
Thanks, Tim!!
Hi Tim, I'm curious how this P01 will handle the MAC gauntlet test. Thanks!
I don't know about MAC's test but my P01 passed a pretty tough NATO testing and passed every one of those. Might want to look those tests up they are damn tough on a firearm I don't imagine a lot of todays firearms could do much better.
I carry a PCR every day. Loooove it. I just got a P-07 too but it's a little longer in the grip so it's my dedicated home defense weapon. Cheers!
Does the beavertail poke you when you sit in the car with it? Only complaint about my PCR
Thank you for supporting HTC that’s a good friend/former coworkers company! Awesome channel man keep up the good work.
I have two CZ clones out of Turkey. One comes from Canik and one from Sarzilmaz. They are very high quality and have great triggers. The SAR K2 is a double stack .45 ACP with 14 rounds. Great gun.
Still love the videos. We have the same taste in firearms. I have been a huge fan of the da/sa hammer guns for a LONG time. Sig P229 older generation is my go to gun. The CZ is going to be my next firearm purchase. Keep up the great work
CZ and Sig Sauer are my favorites!!!
cz & sig
I agree
Tim the best carry gun period IMHO... Its also my EDC too
Great Job as always. I just bought the CZ 75 D PCR. Very dependable.
I am partial to DA/SA semi autos and double action revolvers for carry, but if you want to greatly increase the reupholstering safety of a glock, look into the striker control device by the Tau Dev Group. It replaces the rear slide cover plate and essentially acts like the hammer on a DA/SA pistol.
Great video Mac. I'm going to save up for one of those super cool CZ's with the upgrades and order from you.
Rubicon V m
How things have changed, the p01 is almost $800 now. I bought mine 2 years ago and was expecting it to be around $500 and when I saw the tag say $700 I was shocked
Its painful, I wanna get either a CZ or a Beretta, I just love the look and feel of a Full Metal DA/SA.
@@AlexDenton0451 that's a hard decision, it would come down to whether you wanted to conceal carry it. The Beretta is a big pistol
Got my P01 Omega for $600 total brand new this week
@@montevallomustang They make compact versions of the Beretta 92 and the PX4
@@bigshoe84 I'm currently between the PX4 storm compact and either the CZ 75D PCR or the P01
Love you're vids, awesome material. I'd love to see some more ammo vids, home defense/carry ammo for different calibers.
Been carrying the Cajunized P01 for years now. Absolutely love it. Just like you said, Everyone I let shoot it says it is the best shooting handgun they have fired. This is by far the most accurate handgun I shoot with and with the CGW pro package it is a smooth joy to shoot. One thing above the sights and the pro package I did was the CGW 10x barrel bushing. It locks that barrel in tight reducing play and lending to a little bit more accuracy.
Great video as usual 👍. Review request: Walther P99. Great double/single action striker pistol. I carry the compact (glock 26 size) in the summer and the 4 inch barrel (glock 19 size) in colder seasons.
Eugene Johnston considering getting one myself
Eugene Johnston loves me some classic Walther. Huge fan of the PPQ myself
I’m leaning heavily towards the Omega for my EDC because of all the reasons you mentioned (specifically AIWB carry), but also because of the ambi safety/decocker (I'm a lefty). I'm curious why you went with the 01 for primary vs the Omega. Is it mostly so you could Cajunize the trigger easier than the Omega?
+Military Arms Channel stopped by CGW today and picked up a Shadow 2 kit. I'd never been by there although I'm local to the company. It's incredible the amount of work they do there and the quality they are able to achieve. I planned to leave it but they couldn't put it together for a month or two so I'm gonna do it myself. If I mess up the disconnecter I'll give it to them to finish.
I had the same thing happen with my Core belt. They actually sent me a new buckle and new leather! The new one has been good to go so far.
Even if you had a glass of freaking _water_ on that table we would find a way to accuse you of outside sponsorship haha! On a serious note, I *really* need to get a CZ in my life.
I wanted to ask since this comment is over a year old. Did u ever acquire a CZ? I have me the P07 and I have never looked back!
Get a CZ75 single action only. It has a great trigger and slightly larger ambidextrous thumb safeties.
Gallery of Guns has a good selection of CZs
Night sights are available and easy to install.
Awesome video Mac, thank you for your detailed insight. Also, I would like you opinion on the IWI Jericho. You did a video on it a while back, would you consider it a good carry gun, how does it stack up against your currently carry gun.
I suddenly have a craving for coffee...
Thanks a bunch, I love how we still have double single action lovers out there.
Nice! Solid work here as always. Love me some CZs. Keep em coming...LOVE this channel.
I'm still using my CZP09. I also started using an M9 to be compliant with my group who are all also armed with M9s and 92FSs. The Idea being ammo/magazine compatibility within the group. I'm more than willing to comply with that.
Lol tell your “group” to step into the 2020’s and get a better gun 😂
@@damiion666 Your the one lurking on four year old comments.
@@shadowfoxcorp well your stupid comment is there for all to read so…stupidity has no expiration date 🤣
The exact reasons I prefer DA/SA; I want to feel where that hammer is. And I also prefer CZ and carry a P07.
Cant go wrong with the P07. EVER!
Why does felling where the hammer help?
I have one is 40 short and weak. The P07 slide has more grip area
@@GanttCarterservant He explains at 9:30. You can feel the hammer move if there is an obstruction while holstering, so you can stop and not shoot yourself.
Of course that's not the only reason I prefer DA/SA. The main reason is I will not carry a gun that has a safety, so the heavy DA trigger is my safety, then every shot after that is a nice easy SA trigger.
I have been using a dress ratcheting belt for two and a half years now. It’s not rigid! I had the buckle pull off like You but like You I trimmed it back. I really like it. I can loosen it when my weight is up and pull it tight when I’m carrying. I believe You will like the belt system if not the rigid belt. I have been looking just recently for a po1 (yeah, good luck). I had to check with You first. Your take on something is almost gospel and I wanted to make sure my entire hand fit on it. You have answered my questions. Full speed ahead on the hunt for my new carry gun. Thanks MAC!
The CZ P-01 Omega is my favorite. A great choice for ¢!
I prefer hammer fired guns over striker fired...that's just me. There is something about carrying a striker fired handgun with a loaded chamber that I just do not like at all...again, that's just me. I really like the CZ hammer fire line and am taking a close look at them for my next firearm purchase. But that appendix carry...ugh! Now THAT makes me nervous.
Damn Dogs well aside from the P320 most striker-fired guns are drop safe. And a good holster and trigger discipline helps the rest. But I'm not going to dissuade preference and I still love my hammers as well
I am in similar situation. I have a G19, But now I am moving to a hammer fire, checking the B92FS and the CZ75. In my case I shoot way better with these options than with the G19. I also don't like any gun near my family jewels, ja, ja
When I first came to Appendix carry I was very hesitant in the position, I initially carried an M&P 9 with Thumb Safety and then moved to a P30L LEM for the hammer. I currently carry Glock 17/19/34 loaded chamber and all depending on the day. I visually and physically check the mouth of the holster prior to holstering, if it isn't safe to do that then why am I putting my firearm away? Also with the holsters that I carry AIWB with currently you can lean back while pressing the hips forward and alleviate the "Danger" of shooting yourself. People that get wrapped around the axle about loaded chambers and AIWB and Striker fired weapons should likely reconsider carrying a gun in the first place. That said there's nothing wrong with a hammer fired weapon. I plan to move to a CZ for Competition and want to master the DA/SA class of guns for my personal achievement. JM Custom Kydex and Keepers Concealment only AIWB holsters I endorse.
president excellent alot pistols great fantastic great shooter's action nonstop powerful pistol collection to many pistol there perfect alot fun shooting there great excited everyshoot perfict fantastic have nice day////>>>////>>>>////>>>>////
Exactly, would rather shoot my ass off.
Still carry my CZ Cold War 75. CZ's seem to be extremely underrated.
Warrior2200
I carry a full size 75B. Great accuracy and great trigger out of the box!!!
It's very popular in Europe.
The Speznatz used to carry them!
They were virtually Unattainable during the Cold War. And commanded high prices.
The Italians filled the gap and made CZ copies. EAA still imports them.
So did Israel.
I think anyone who’s explored the many different options of pistols can all agree CZ’s are some of best ever made.
WHO DARE UNDERRATE THY GREAT CZ75
CZ is underrated? Since when? You cannot go to a gun channel without CZ fanboys going into a feeding frenzy. In the interest of full disclosure, I have owned a CZ 75 for decades now, but sometimes I am thinking of selling it just so no one associates me with the fan club.
I agree with this line of thinking , hence the reason I am watching this video. This seems like the perfect choice for me. I have never cried about weight anyway , a few extra ounces is fine with me, especially to ditch the plastic.
It’s my CCW and I kept it stock. The trigger really smoothed out after 2000 rounds . The stock DA pull is fine at 10 lbs if you practice enough. It’s a fantastic gun.
Yeah... I'm a trigger snob for sure, but a 6 lb DA pull is too light for my carry gun. Like you said, 10 lbs is fine. I'm more concerned with eliminating creep/hammer-camming from the SA pull.
@@HalfCrazy520 I'm at 9500 rounds now and the DA is 7.5 lbs and the SA is about 3. Even with new springs.
Ramble away dude. I learn a lot from your channel.🔫🤓
I carry the full sized sp-01. I cannot recommend this gun enough.
I love my kore belt Mac! I bought mine years ago off this video and I haven't looked back! I think I might've gotten maybe the next gen design and it's been great! And I also carry a cz p07 based on your videos for my winter carry and I carry a xds9 sub compact for the light summer months. But my p07 quickly became my favorite pistol! I think the cz 75 is next!
Just ordered a Kores belt because of the video even though you haven't technically put it through the ringer....I'm liking the rigidity of it as well as the adjustability from waste lengths from adding weight, slimming down, bigger guns/holsters and just having to slide the ratchet rather than potentially buy a bigger/smaller belt.
The smartest and most well spoken guy in the firearms community. Great job.
Lol not even close.
How does this video have 2, 3, and 4 day old comments (according to youtube) when it was just uploaded 30 minutes ago?
Returning Shadow My assumption is his Patreon folks get first dibs and he lists the vid unlisted. Then makes it public after a few days for everyone else.
That's exactly what happens. Patreon subscribers get early access to the videos
Finally. Some common sense from someone. I completely agree with DA/SA or even DAO especially when it comes to appendix carry. There is a scenario that always enters my mind when it comes to that position of carry and after all these years I still haven't seen it in addressed in a video.
Springfield has the grip safeties you hate to mitigate appendix carry dangers. The XDS in my opinion is amazeballz. My girl just bought the new XDS MOD 2 IN 9MM. Which seems to me the most advanced feature Kaiden concealed carry pistol ever. It’s tiny but shoots so sweet, comes with night sights and has a pinky extension on their magazine baseplates. Thanks for the video.
As a Californian, I’m considering a Glock 19, Springfield XD, CZ 75 series (specifically P01/SP01 mainly because of their options for gun lights), Sig Sauer P226 (less likely because of it’s price), or a Beretta.
After alot of research on what fire arm i wanted to carry i decided on the p01 recently. I love everything about it. Its got a very cool retro look but has the reliability, accuracy and ergonomics to place it among the best carry pistols in today's competition. When i was deciding, it was between this and the glock 19. One of the advantages of the glock was 15 rds vs 14. However when I got my p01 I noticed mine came from cz with 2, 15 rd mags. Anybody else get one like this? Is it a new thing? And do they make a 40 model now cause my mags say 15 9mm on one side and 11 .40 on the other. Anyways I totally recommend this gun to anyone on the fence about it. The aluminum frame in my opinion makes it feel slightly more balanced than polymer pistols and it shoots like a dream. 250 rds, 0 malfunctions. The tfx pro sights are amazing when put on this gun, however because of the angle of the sights or maybe the barrel or slide it seems like i have to aim the muzzle a little higher to get my rounds where I want them to go. Anybody experience this?
I would like to see the P01 go through “The Gauntlet”
Man, the weird nostalgia of hitting this video curious about CZs and seeing the lower production and the Kore (I just got one this year) is kinda funny. May have to try one of these guns rather than a S&W single stack.
Because of your videos I got my first CZ about a year and a half ago. I now own 4 and will only carry a CZ!
Now brought to you by Starbuck! Just kidding, love your content! I own a P30, no issues. I don't like the VP9, I would definitely choose a CZ (any CZ) over the VP9. I do plan on buying a CZ or Beretta 92 soon for a new carry.
My main carry is a Beretta 92fs compact inox. I love it, but may consider a CZ as I have become more interested in changing out sights (the front sight on my Beretta is fixed).
Milsurp Mike - That is a good point on the Beretta, which is why I was looking at this one. www.wilsoncombat.com/berettawilson-92g-brigadier-tactical/
It's a bit pricey for a Beretta, but it's not much different than a pistol from CZ custom shop. I paid just a little less for my P30. Which, the only reason I want to replace it is capacity and my P30 is 40cal.
Now I don't mind 40 at all, especially this Hk. It's much smoother than any other I've shot. However with the new rounds that are out now, 9mm is more viable than ever. IMO 40 is a better caliber but I'd rather have the capacity. Plus after shooting my buddies 92 and SP01 better than my Hk, I'm sold.
I really want a P30... someday.
Military Arms Channel - I'll trade you for one of those CZ's. Mine's one of those evil 40's though. I will say, I thought at first the VP9 was just a striker copy of the P30. I was wrong, they changed a few things, not for the better. The trigger would be my only possible complaint. However it doesn't bother me now that I have a little over 1800rds through it.
MAC, we need an HK P30 gauntlet test before it gets cold!
How do you feel about the p-07
Helped me make up my mind. Was considering heavily the hk p30, p07 or p01, think I'll just stick old school metal framed hammer guns like Tim and have some room for upgrades like those cool sights and a holster and put a light on my nightstand gun. Really a nice setup
In my family we have several long guns, but I or we never purchased a hand gun. My wife and I have been talking about buying one for months, so I researched the Glocks, S&W's, Sprinfields brands. I was looking for a shield type for the comfort factor for my wife's hands. Then we went to a local dealer and looked at all those mentioned brands and my wife liked them, but said the grips just felt okay. The salesman asked if we tried a CZ, but we said no. So he showed us the P-01 and the SP-01 and immediately my wife said those 2 guns felt the most comfortable than the previous guns and I agreed, plus she was most comfortable with the safety of the double action hammer and decocker that the others do not have. We live in California and everything is on backorder now, but the P-01 is the handgun we are going to purchase. Thanks for the great review and the confirmation of our choice.
💥What happened to the reliability tests💥
The CZ 75 D PCR Compact is very similar to the CZ P01 Compact. Do you prefere one over the other? If yes, why? Thanks. I
really enjoy you you channel.
I carry a 72 Belgian Hi Power in a Galco Royal Guard slightly behind the hip. But i love my 75BD Omega just a bit big for carry IMO.
The new PO1 Compacts now come with 15 round mags standard from CZ. The 14 round mags from my 75 compact work just fine in the PO1, as do the 16 round mags from my 75B full size. Both of those are all steel. The CZ 75 PO1 is the gun I've been waiting for. It is now my main carry gun. Although I don't like toy rails underneath my concealed carry firearms, I'm never sticking anything on a carry weapon, BUT, the extra weight right under the muzzle makes it a flat shooter and it is thee best looking gun with a rail on it I've ever seen. I have LOK Grips on mine & love the feel & look. Mine has an ambi decocker only on it. Not sure I like that, but it causes no problem other than I can feel it hit the leather holster a tad as I holster it. There was a kit in mine which I believe has the smaller decockers in it. I don't know if I can put the flatter one on the rights side & keep the big one on the left. The sights on mine, newer than yours slope back to the end of the frame & have a little ledge vs the straight up further forward kind. Adds length to the sight picture. They glow very bright when charged, but not Tritium. I might try a lighter spring to lighten the double action pull, but I don't mind the trigger on mine, it's not as hooked as the ones on my original CZ'S. if u know if I can just change decocker lever on right & not left, let me know. Nothing in manual about it. Thnx.

I appreciate your great videos. Good work bro.

Keeping the faith in a world of faithless idiots is a challenge!
I recently read a lot about p01 omega convertible extractor problems etc..? Know anything about this?
CZ75 compact. Fourteen+ one, all milled steel, self installed night-sights, all up $589. Hundred percent reliability. Hard to beat.
I absolutely love and carry my CZ P75 01
It's my EDC .
Great video as always.
14:19 He's doing a "Marco Rubio"!!!!! :)
Hey MAC, you've probably already moved on, but could you give a link to the package you got at cajun gunworks?
I have had a wonderful experience with Nextbelt, which ratchets, too. Very good belt, for a year of daily use.
Just got a P01. It’s beautiful. Fits the hand better than anything else I have, except for my Tristar P100, which is a CZ P01 copy, but with a steel frame instead of an aluminum frame. Next on the list of pistols to buy, an SP01.
Hey Mac what's your view on the PO7 as a carry gun?
Sheesh, man can't have a drink w/o being blasted by the internet.
For this case yes. It makes him a hypocrite.
@@michaelweston6083 Just now watching this review, why is that?
@@mitchellsands7617 because it was in my recommendations and I don't remember watching it. Why are you watching it?
@@michaelweston6083 you misunderstood me brother, I'm saying that *I* don't understand why he's a hypocrite. I have no context and was confused.
@@mitchellsands7617 sorry. Rereading I understand, I first read it as a question not a statement. He's a hypocrite because he constantly calls for boycotts of people and things but he is here drinking a coffee from one of the enemies.
BINGO! You nailed it. Everything I was having a hard time getting into the spoken word you articulated well. I am a 30 year Marine, retired. I know my handguns and I know what I like and why I like it. Maybe I cannot explain it well but I know what works. I too carry my PO1 compact. Funny story here. Was at the ranch one day and saw a fat bore hog lounging near the water. From about 40 yards, used that same gun to nail him right behind the ear. DRT. (used a cedar tree to brace myself.)
You make great videos. I have a number of CZ's The P01 is one of my favorites but for me it's a bit heavy to CC, especially after CC my Sig P365 now in Macro 17 round., it's lighter and thinner, I love it. But that doesn't take anything away from my CZ's. Keep the good videos coming!
I see you covertly advertising Starbucks Frappuccinos. Sneaky.
Hey man! Do you still carry this P01 to this day?? Thanks!
Wondering as well what you think of the omega version...?
I got on here to ask the same question.
😅, bros Same!
I was wondering the same thing!
I believe he posted a more recent video and has since switched to carrying a shadow systems
WOW! I just realized Copper Customs and you! I bought your Copper Custom Ruger PC9 chassis and I love it!
I definitely understand thumbing the hammer as you re-holster. Have you looked at the Tau Development Striker Control Device for Glocks aka the ToddG Glock Gadget? It adds the function of letting you put your thumb on the back of the slide when re-holstering to prevent trigger movement the same way putting your thumb on the hammer of a DA/SA gun prevents trigger movement in case something like clothing or a jacket drawstring makes its way into the trigger guard.
