Especially at the moment when the Jedi master asks for forgiveness. It is likely that the video was made by completely different people who are not related to the previous videos.

Dear people in charge, This is, verifiably and undeniably, better than every Star Wars released in the last decade. MAKE MORE OF THIS. Sincerely, Everyone
It's the best Star Wars. The nostalgia of the Original Trilogy aside, the story, and cinematics from this game are so far beyond the scope of any shows or movies ever released for Star Wars.
Quote from old Jedi master from SW:KOTOR "What I really hate are how most people view the Jedi. Everyone thinks that the Jedi are perfect, that they can do no wrong. They think the Jedi Council is completely incapable of injustice. And I'm not even talking about how some of us fall to the Darkside. No, that's plenty indication of our fallibility, but it's something else entirely. No, I'm talking about how, more often than not, your average robe-wearing Jedi can try to do the right thing and still be completely wrong."
When people say Jedi are weak to blasters and could easily get outnumbered by them. I think of these Jedi and Sith and the animated Clone Wars show back in 2003. To me that's the true power of what a real Jedi should be like in the films. A regular Jedi should be more like how all the Jedi masters fight in the movies. While the Jedi knights and masters should display this cinematics level of force and lightsaber mastery. I will always appreciate the prequels for being the closest to this intensity when it comes to their lightsaber duels.
I will never understand why they don't utilize force speed in live action more too and just the force in general. Imagine having a scene like Quicksilver's from X-Men where it's just a Jedi or Sith single handlely taking out a full room of troopers and droids or rebels. Like they don't need to use it too much of course but it'd be cool to see more of it implemented into film. There's already movies that have cgi'd high speed fighting that could look nice if done right. Like in Blade haha people still eat that movie up to this day even tho that CGI doesn't hold up well anymore. But you bet your ass that shit went hard when it first came out. They could make lightsaber duels look way more mythical by using more agility from the force by a greater scale. Not simple gymnastics that any normal athlete can pull off. But shit like Darth Maul force jumping away from Qui Gon and Obi Wan. We need to see more shit like that in Jedi duels because those kinda details are always very transparent in animated versions.
Same, really confused me and still does that Disney didn’t decide to do something like this and move away from the skywalker storyline. They either needed to take George’s notes on how to finish it or tell a completely new story
@@alsimmonshellspawn6021 it actually deeply saddens me how they waste the potential star wars could be again and again. like if they REALLY wanted to REALLY tried and had the right team, they could make films that are as good as these cinematics and without a shadow of a doubt they would save star wars.
The entire “Old Republic” era is really just what Star Wars was always meant to be. It’s basically if Star Wars was created today, modernized, the “Old Republic” is basically that version of Star Wars. At its core, Star Wars is the creation and work of George Lucas and the canon and lore of the Skywalker saga is the core story of Star Wars and so in sticking true to Canon, we set this version of Star Wars in the distant past at 10,000+ years before A New Hope.
Kinda confused with sticking to canon and the 10000+ years. As far as i am up to date this sadly is legends and doesnt even exist in canon(even though I dont See it that way) and swtor actually takes place at around 3700 BBY(basicly 3700 years before episode 4) or am I somehow misunderstood here?
@@leonvanbommel2829 the end of TOR was 1000BBY, just 100 years before yodas birth. This was when the sith empire fully collapsed into anarchy, and bane hid away to train next generations, bringing the jedi to power. The old Republic era STARTED with the rakattan infinite empire, which were the first to fully learn the dark side and exterminate the je'daii( grey/ancient jedi ) and the celestials ( mortis gods ). The rakattan held the galaxy under threat for over five thousand years, until eventually collapsing with the je'daii swearing off the dark side and becoming jedi. A millenia or so later a small jedi revolution came through and revealed the first true sith, which eventually led to marka ragnos, who trained vitiate, who raised the sith empire and the eternal empire in the 1,500 years of his life.
Every time i watch these trailers i notice a new detail i missed before. So much work went into these and they're genuinely some of the best star wars content ever made.
What's also to be praised is how well written those cinematics are. I mean : most of them I discovered without sound (or subtitles) activated. And it doesn't take anything away from them. For "Sacrifice", I even think it enhanced how powerful and clear the whole story is. Story-telling. It's an art. And they freaking get it.
I swear the ambush scene when Havoc Squad lets out a war cry as they charge into battle gives me such goosebumps. Why can't Disney Star Wars be this good?
It’s just interesting, there is tons of media out there that has such positive fan reaction to know what eras and things fans would like explored and yet Disney messes it up so badly. I don’t think fans are burned out by Star Wars it’s just the quality has gone down so much. Another thing you watch this, it has zero agenda in it beyond telling a great story. It has nothing to do with Skywalkers and yet has everything fans love about Star Wars. It shows what things could be like.
The burnout comes from the fact that instead of aiming for a few solid releases. What comes out is awful or kinda miss the prime audience, leading to people calling it bad(andor) People would not be burned out if star wars at least promised passable content.
at this point in time, the answer has been revealed: it was all 'part of the plan', the wokies/ lefties/ democrats schemed to destroy our heroes and all our entertainment...and if anybody still doubt this, just listen to the rants of these crazies, they are no longer hiding
Jesus EVERYTHING is better than that shit! Do we have to say it over and over? Do what Luke said in that trash and... let the past die! (that past specifically)
2:41 for me, this is some of the best choreo I've ever seen. I mean, you can go frame by frame and find absolutely nothing wrong with it and there SO MUCH GOING ON.
We've never had 3 or more lightsaber users fight at the same time and I think it's about time they do it in live action because obviously as you see from this it is awesome
Was looking for a comment on the choreography. When the green sabered jedi starts going ham in the first episode and stabs guy through chest it’s flawless
I would say some of the clone wars battles would be right behind it through choreography. It’s the best of both worlds very cool scenes but without the silly looking spinning.
Bioware treated star wars like such a passion piece and it shows how deeply they know and understand this universe! And as for dragon age, their storytelling is incredible and paced so artfully.
@@MrHawkelement Yeah, someone still did run and some die, but not the named characters. AND considering all the conflicts and chaos on Alderaan during the story there, he pretty much accomplished what he was after. I would also add another rule: Satele is absolutely owned and about to get killed, but saved in the last moment. in both of their fights Shan had someone to save her from death blow, be it a saber throw from her master or a Malcom's arrival (trooper name).
Because satele is a way better developed character tover everyone. Except maybe Finn and Kylo (they had so much potential and were the ones who carried the sequels even tho they still sucked)
@@loomman5296 How so? Dude went from being a Jedi to hating them and becoming Sith to hating them and wanting to start his own thing to stop it all. That is basically revans story, so are you saying revans story is bad? Not everything about the sequels were bad.

@@CheeseshredderSpoilers Basically, the Sith Empire, which has been built by Darth Vitiate, has been in hiding for over 100 years, and is ready to return to the known galaxy. That is when the first trailer happens. During the war between the Sith and the Republic, the 2 Noble houses on Aldeeran clash, house Organa being supported by the republic and the other by the Sith. That is when the second trailer happens. Satele, the Jedi you see, defeats Malgus, however he manages to survive. The Sith also conquer many more systems. That is when "Deceived" happens, Malgus alongside the Sith sack Coruscant and force the Republic to negotiate a peace treaty that is favourable to the Sith. A short oversimplified summary of the context around the first 3. I am honestly tired so ima go to bed, if I find your comment again I'll also add some more context.
@@rarescevei8268 oh cool, thank you for taking the time to explain. Sounds very interesting! I only know the movies and some of the games. But the KotoR is where I missed out. Im sure I could do my own research on a wiki or something and spare you more tiresome typing. But it's nice having someone explain it too... Maybe someone has already done that in more detail on youtube. I will run a search. 👍
Malgus had solidified his power and became leader of the sith empire but i believe he wasnt yet at his most powerful, and Satele shan was not just GM as she would come to be known, but both still immensely powerful, as you can see her stop saber strikes with just her hands and the force, and launch powerful force bombs like a Kamahameha wave, and Malgus able to tank grenades, force bombs, giant slabs of stone, and thats before he got his armor and respirator, which made his connection to the force even deeper. This shows him at 3 different stages in his life and conquest , and shows satele at 2 different points, wilhich i assume a later trailer will show when she is grandmaster of the jedi.
@@xxMpEGxx Satele was a Padawan, Malgus was most likely either a Sith or Sith Lord whilst his master was either a Sith Lord or Darth however Malgus wouldn't be higher ranked than his master but when he killed him he inherited all of his titles, positions and power base so Malgus probably became a Sith Lord after this battle.
I don't know why but I feel like this is one of the coolest lightsaber moves of all (Including movies and series) 2:53. It is just a very cool demonstartion of the potential of the weapon (the saber itself) and the wielder, and these unique mechanics should be more explored in all Star Wars media.
I can’t remember where it’s from but I remember someone from the modern Star Wars era say that lightsabers are like toys in the hands of children compared to highrepublic Jedi
No wonder Darth Vader is similar to Darth Malgus. Well there are many differences in them both: Malgus killed his wife because she became a weakness, while Vader killed his out of blind rage. They both required life support system Malgus broken his chains while Vader was broken servant to Palpatine who Ancient Sith despised.
@@berranari1 hahahaha I get it....you should really check it out though, if you can get past the movies being completely different from the books part you can get deep into the lore without even trying
@@Kolonol1 I have seen bits of them, so I should at least watch the first movie. Ok, I will do that. One of the actors said she had no interest in watching it. lol That's kind of how Alec Guiness was about Star Wars.
Did you ever hear the tragedy of Darth Plagueis The Wise? I thought not. It’s not a story the Jedi would tell you. It’s a Sith legend. Darth Plagueis was a Dark Lord of the Sith, so powerful and so wise he could use the Force to influence the midichlorians to create life… He had such a knowledge of the dark side that he could even keep the ones he cared about from dying. The dark side of the Force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural. He became so powerful… the only thing he was afraid of was losing his power, which eventually, of course, he did. Unfortunately, he taught his apprentice everything he knew, then his apprentice killed him in his sleep. Ironic. He could save others from death, but not himself.
The Old Republic is TRUE Star Wars. Not the stupid Sequel Trilogy. The OT, Prequels, Clone Wars, Bad Batch, Boba Fett, and Mandalorian were the best examples of Star Wars media in the Canon, but these Cinematic Legends, this is TRULY Star Wars at its core. Just imagine if Dave Filoni directed an Old Republic movie as awesome as these trailers.
This game cinematics had more guts to risk than Disney in her entire "Star Wars Verse". They take risk doing a story that keeps you watching to see how things will go, how the characters who had suffered in their past will get stronger naturally to face their nemesis, and boy, those villains were well written. They actually explore the Jedi weaknesses so they can take whatever they want from them. It's something that Disney won't ever do. That Republic fall prologue really caught me off guard, man how I wish something like that was on stream or even in cinema.
Here’s my opinion on that. Animation can give you the feel that anything is possible and I can leave you with a better watch. Live action give you the sense that everything is real in my opinion the original trilogy works the best in live action because nothing was CGI and it really hit me the other day when I watched all three movies how the light saber combat improved throughout all of the movies. So while yes animation can have cooler fights Live action can look more natural and be a lot better to look at. In my opinion I prefer the live action for movies since they have a big budget and animation for TV shows.
Animation gives stars wars characters powers and feats that are very hard to replicate in live action. But if the animation is janky and not pleasing to look at (looking at you The Clone Wars) It doesn't really matter.
In every star wars story there is an evenly balanced 2v2 going on, then one of the Jedi runs away to let the other Jedi die. Just stay and fight you might win!
... And by the time you finish the entire video... Isn't it the BEST Star Wars you've seen since episodes 1-6? Really makes you wonder how GREAT things could have been...
@@DreamsOfLegend better than... Vastly better than. Doesn't mean they aren't good, but as movies go they're alright. The story is good, but the movies, objectively, weren't great.
@@roguewritingwell "OBJECTIVELY" we can only see their MASSIVE CULTURAL IMPACT and monetary phenomenon... BEFORE Disney tanked it, it was called the most valuable IP in the modem world. On those 6 ORIGINAL films. subjectively we can say whatever we want. That fact doesn't change. It's kinda like Socialism and Capitalism.. how do we know which is MORE powerful? The one so powerful it can CONTAIN completely the other.. In a capitalistic system you can THEN have social programs akin to socialism (just ask Sweden and Norway who have to keep telling people they're NOT Socialist) George Lucas Star Wars is so powerful all this other stuff can exist within it. That's the OBJECTIVE view 👍
Those 3 shorts minutes of sacrifice are still my personal favorite piece of star wars content that exists. They fit more emotion and story into those 3 minutes that Disney fit into 3 movies. There is so much more potential to the star wars universe
The sad thing is that Disney has no idea how much money they would make if they released animated films like this. I mean, I don’t care what era they would be set in. Just seeing this type of Star Wars action in a film would give the fans what they need. But Disney is stuck in their ways. And this will, if it’s not already, all be considered non-canon. They’re too arrogant in thinking everything they put out is gold, when fans have been screaming for years that THIS is what we want. But they couldn’t give even a single shit. This whole “You better love what we give you because it’s all we’re giving you, we don’t care” is getting really old.
You're right. But the thing is they get their money from somewhere like BlackRock. Star Wars means a great deal to us. But it doesn't mean Jack to them. Possibilities for this are endless. But it would be better if they didn't touch the Old Republic. Not until the guard at lucasfilm changes. Which won't be anytime soon sadly it's going to take something really drastic
@@ledzeppelinfan1001 I mean if you get skewered, you usually die. As people in history and reports show. Stab = death when you get stabbed in vitals, and most of the body is a fragile thing. Granted Sabine got stabbed a little to her right side. So it likely only struck... the stomach region. Granted star wars has advanced medicine and can just make more organs and stuff. But getting stabbed through your intestines is not only painful, but uh, pretty sure you need a new large intestines and a kidney. Surprisingly she can LIVE. But living without two vital organs to your body, as they help filter stuff and break down material like water for your body to utilize more efficiently. Even if you lack it, yeah you can live, but you'll be miserable. I mean, I saw someone with a hip replacement, and they had this sort of penguin styled walk at times to them.

Yeah Nahh, sorry but I went back and watched both moves and they’re 100% different (not to mention that he had a saberstaff and ignited one of the blades, whereas Malgus ended up facing the dude with a spin)
Because they need to milk the Skywalker era for all its worth. They rely on nostalgia bait and fan service to keep people interested, not good, original stories and characters.
this is so compelling... extremely depressing that the kind of people who made these cinematics aren't behind the current star wars tv series... star wars fans deserve so much better...
Because it’s a couple minute clip not a full length tv show. It takes them a long ass time just to make a 5 minute clip imagine how long it would take to make a whole ass show. That’s gonna take decades

Because movies/film today is nothing but a device used for programming and brainwashing. Wonder why they add so much political shit in modern movies? Even movies that shouldn't have them in at all, like Star Wars. Because it's not about making money, Disney doesn't need money, if they're movies all flopped in the next 5 years it wouldn't matter. It's not about money, it's about sending a message.
I feel like Into The Spider-Verse and Arcane should show the industry that style fuckin matters and companies shouldn’t be afraid to take such leaps in their entertainment. Both of the aforementioned titles are of great narrative and aesthetic quality; almost like passion-projects. They must do the same with Star Wars

Still doesn't make sense to compare two completely different media. And being part of KOTOR is the main draw, completely different stories beyond the original Empire vs rebels. And the original trilogy special effects were great and innovative 45 years ago, not anymore. People have this disdain for CGI and over glorify the puppets and physical miniatures used back then when computer graphics were not an option. Times have long since changed.
These are the profiles I like to play as the most: -Sith Inquisitor (I value power a lot, but I also believe only the strongest of mind or soul can wield it, and I want to see if despite being a Sith, I'm still worth it); -Jedi Consular (I don't really like the hero who goes against everything the world throws at them, I prefer the one who observes, becomes an anti-hero for control and manipulation in the name of preservation, or tries diplomacy); -Imperial agent (between manipulating in the shadows or dominanting in public, I prefer to remain in the shadows, to be precise and immerse myself in the details); -I'm unsure regarding the Mandalorian warrior. I want to build my own legend, to leave a careful trail behind to be studied and traced back to me, after my work becomes definitive. But I value purpose balanced with duty. And the warrior seems to want to build his legend out of pleasure alone. What do you think ?
No Star Wars marathon is complete without watching these. This may not be where it all began with the Sith and Jedi, but a very nice place to start from nevertheless.
Whenever a new Star Wars series comes out, I just watch this to maintain true happiness. Star Wars 1-7; Old Republic Cinematic Trailers; Rogue One; and Andor. Outside of the books, that's all I consider part of the Star Wars universe.
Bruh I felt a much bigger connection with the characters of these cinematics than the entire sequel trilogy. The latter made me forget my love for Star Wars The former reminded me of what made me fall in love with it
I've never played The Old Republic, but these trailers are still some of my favorite Star Wars media ever. Why can't they greenlight some of this instead of trash like Obi Wan and The Acolyte.
First fight. I love how you can't tell who is the master until they tell you. I also love the commitment to the Republic the people have. This is better than the actual films imo

3000 years is quite a long time
@@leonvanbommel2829 the end of TOR was 1000BBY, just 100 years before yodas birth. I agree, even after all those years, the feeling is always the same of the first time i saw it.
It’s not fair how these random game cinematics are a thousand times better and more Star Wars than anything Disney has put out
It’s just interesting, there is tons of media out there that has such positive fan reaction to know what eras and things fans would like explored and yet Disney messes it up so badly.
What comes out is awful or kinda miss the prime audience, leading to people calling it bad(andor)
People would not be burned out if star wars at least promised passable content.

I guess Satele was a jedi master at that point and Malgus a sith lord maybe?
Malgus had solidified his power and became leader of the sith empire but i believe he wasnt yet at his most powerful, and Satele shan was not just GM as she would come to be known, but both still immensely powerful, as you can see her stop saber strikes with just her hands and the force, and launch powerful force bombs like a Kamahameha wave, and Malgus able to tank grenades, force bombs, giant slabs of stone, and thats before he got his armor and respirator, which made his connection to the force even deeper.
Is it just me or does star wars look better when it's animated
Here’s my opinion on that.
Animation can give you the feel that anything is possible and I can leave you with a better watch.
Live action give you the sense that everything is real in my opinion the original trilogy works the best in live action because nothing was CGI and it really hit me the other day when I watched all three movies how the light saber combat improved throughout all of the movies.
So while yes animation can have cooler fights Live action can look more natural and be a lot better to look at.
In my opinion I prefer the live action for movies since they have a big budget and animation for TV shows.
It depends on the story, both Animation and Live Action have its pros and cons in story telling
Animation gives stars wars characters powers and feats that are very hard to replicate in live action. But if the animation is janky and not pleasing to look at (looking at you The Clone Wars) It doesn't really matter.

-Imperial agent (between manipulating in the shadows or dominanting in public, I prefer to remain in the shadows, to be precise and immerse myself in the details);
-I'm unsure regarding the Mandalorian warrior. I want to build my own legend, to leave a careful trail behind to be studied and traced back to me, after my work becomes definitive. Disney... why can't you
JUST
DO
THIS?
It's not that difficult. What do we get instead? The power of one.
The power of mannnnyyyy
This is what the acolyte should have been with a 180M dollar budget
Where the hell did that 180 million go lmao.

Only saw darth Malagus in those cinematic trailers and he is already my favourite sith
It's incredible how these short cinematics are orders of magnitude better than the films combined
Whenever a new Star Wars series comes out, I just watch this to maintain true happiness. Star Wars 1-7; Old Republic Cinematic Trailers; Rogue One; and Andor. Outside of the books, that's all I consider part of the Star Wars universe.
When Star Wars had a soul… 😢
Bruh I felt a much bigger connection with the characters of these cinematics than the entire sequel trilogy.
The latter made me forget my love for Star Wars
The former reminded me of what made me fall in love with it
every time I come back and watch this, it's just a sad reminder that we'll never get this quality from Disney's Star Wars :/
These should be a full movie
I've never played The Old Republic, but these trailers are still some of my favorite Star Wars media ever.
Why can't they greenlight some of this instead of trash like Obi Wan and The Acolyte.
Imagine if they took the money they spent on the Acolyte and put it towards something like this. They'd be raking in the dough.
Way better than the Acolyte will ever be
Qui gon jinn was right about everything when he learned the grey jedi code.
Can we give Sa’Har some credit here? She held her own against Darth Malgus for a longer time than most
he may have gone easy on her out of pity as she kind of helped him get what he wanted
@@fktheproducer obviously. Malgus could have cleaved her in half within a second.
Still, that’s pretty impressive
First fight. I love how you can't tell who is the master until they tell you.
I also love the commitment to the Republic the people have. This is better than the actual films imo
When these first came out, they were some of the coolest things I had ever seen. They still are.
Disney, why didn’t you learn from this?
Malgus is the Sith Lord we have been looking for.
