- Angel's Landing Zion National Park: Zion National Park is known for its red canyons and towering cliffs that sort thousands of feet into the sky. Zion features some of the most stunning and mind-boggling hikes in the entire National Park System and that's exactly why we're here. Several years ago we tackled Angel’s Landing, one of the park's most dangerous hikes, and braved through strong currents hiking up a deep river canyon called the Narrows.
Zion National Park is nestled in the southwestern corner of Utah just a few hours north of Las Vegas. The 6.5 mile scenic Canyon Drive weaves its way through 2,000 foot tall mountains in the center of the park, with stops along the way. Every turn we’re taking on this drive is revealing another set of amazing monoliths. For 150 million years, the Virgin River has been carving the red and tan Navajo Sandstone into these unbelievable formations.

We want to hear about your experiences from Zion National Park, and maybe other places around the world!
@@RockTheParkOfficial amazing and I look forward to seeing other episodes
My palms are sweating just watching this!! I could never do this.
That's a knee knocking trail where Colton slipped. I'd probly get blisters from clutching that chain so hard too. Super cool!👍👍👍
Im simply stunned that you guys don't have over a million subscribers
Found y’all’s show during Covid. It’s now our standard of watch the parks we are thinking of before going. Also definitely marking Angel Landing down as a ‘no way in h-“ for our Zion hikes this year. Thanks for the warning boys 😂
Love Angel’s Landing. Really amazing. Can’t wait to go back
Thanks for watching Daniel!
Just got back from Zion. I wish I had seen this before I left.
Spectacular! When my wife and I were there most of the big trails (Narrows, Emerald, west Observation Point) were closed due to rock falls. We had to do Observation Point from the east side and I did Angel's Landing solo because my wife couldn't stomach it. Fortunately, I started at 0630 and there were VERY few people on the trail. Never heard of Hidden Canyon so now we have to go back! Thanks for sharing!
I want to have a weekly, excellent, 30 minute program just like this one that airs on Saturdays in either the late afternoon, or the early evening. What I would do is go to different aquariums, museums, parks, parades, beaches, even county fairs, and describe what I'm doing! 🎳🎠🎡🎢🚜🛳🚂🏖🍓🍉🌲🐋
This is awesome, I did Angels Landing and Loved it.
Hi Ananth 👋 , thanks for watching!!!
I was there in early September of 2019, Angels Landing is awesome! The Narrows are probably one of the best, most unique hikers anywhere. I wonder when this was recorded, the huge rock slide happened already for going to Hidden Canyon when I went there? I had a chance to view the Condor from Angel's Landing shortly before it fledged. One of the most beautiful National Parks!
Wow! So amazing!
Glad you think so! :D
amazing! look forward to it for my next trip
Have fun!
The other year Angel's Landing and Kolob Canyon sections were closed off due to some flooding on trails, but it was also great exercise to backpack up from the canyon bottom to Observation Point the next morning. It was cool to be able to look down on Angel's Landing and still have a great view down the length of the canyon. A little bit of the Narrows, the hanging garden sections, it is certainly fulfilling to do what the episode shows, see a sampling of everything possible here.
Viasat Nature
my heart drops when colton slipped, i'm not afraid of height but that was scary!
A good reminder about safety during this trips
Did you guys ever make it all the up to Angels Landing? I too am afraid of heights but I took my time and arrived at the top with an euphoric and adrenaline rush that I"ll never forget.
One of us did, the other didn't. It was a pretty amazing at the top!
@@RockTheParkOfficial I agree..stunning! Not for the faint at heart but worth the effort. I hear that it's getting increasingly challenging with the increased crowds. Hopefully that won't be the case this year due to the current situation. Keep up the great episodes and hope to see you on a NPS trail in the future!
Just saying, you guys climbed The Grand Teton and Devils Tower which are way harder/technical than Angels Landing....Colton go back and do it! It's more mental than anything else, the chain got you and use gripping gloves...Can't wait to see that video of you guys on top of it! 💪
very crazy, a lot of adrenaline, all that current and trail near the cliff. I like adventure like that.
Fabio! Thanks for watching bud! Definitely let us know what you think about our other episodes
Ok I'll see others Episodes. This is cool
@@fabior.azevedo8055 Thanks for joining the Rock the Park family
You are welcome.
I'm from Brasil
@@fabior.azevedo8055 Brasil, that's awesome! How's the lockdown been there because of COVID-19?
I think the best part of my road trip was to see Zion through huge tunnel windows.
That's great! Did you pass through Mt Carmel Tunnel?
@@RockTheParkOfficial yes.. its so beautiful, driving on red asphalt along with red walls and canyons
How many days should I stay there
I dont want to look down either 👀🚩😳
could you have gone further in the narrows or was that the end of the trail?
Yes.. you can go 16 miles with a permit. And I think about 6 miles without one.
Yes, you can go further, but we were not allowed to for commercial filming and permitting reasons.
Hidden Canyon, weeping rock, observation trail from weeping rock closed.
Haven't been to Zion in a while. Wonder why it's closed.
Here is a tip DONT LOOK DOWN. :-)
Can you explain what you mean by no cameras allowed on the last part of the Angel's Landing trail? Is that just for Hollywood style movie cameras or GoPros as well?
The park doesn't allow commercial filming on the trail.
here is a tip DONT LOOK DOWN
Just over here laughing my ass off at you guys over-dramatizing the Narrows hike. Oh no! Scary music. And someone pretending like a flood is about to happen any minute!! LOL.
Note to people who haven’t done the Narrows but have watched this video. Those are grandmas in the background doing the exact same hike. The only thing difficult about the hike is that you’re guaranteed to get wet and dirty. But these guys pretending like it’s a death-defying adventure is laughably misleading.
Water's darn cold but the hike is a blast! Loved it better than angels landing.
