I spent two months making our rings in my workshop. Made of brass, bamboo, and bronze, and each part has meaning to our time together. She absolutely loves it. ❤
First of all, we love your channel especially my wife because you remind her of herself. When we got engaged, we were poor and could only afford a cheap band but over time, the good Lord has deemed us worthy to receive his many blessings. Therefore, I told my wife I wanted to buy her the ring she deserved but she refused saying "This was the band that won her heart and that's forever" So what I'm eluding to is; that it's not the price of the ring that matters but the character of person you will be forming a union with and that is priceless.
Great video I'm taking a trip to the Philippines this Saturday Feb 10, 2024 to meet my LDR, and I'm very excited to meet her. If it came to me buying her a ring I would spend about $1000, because she is worth it. Keep making excellent videos. 💕 You and your family. Chester hixon
Interesting subject. I was paying the equivalent of $4500 for an engagement ring for my English GF. She refused the engagement saying 'we didn't need to get married, it was just paper' Maybe she didn't want others knowing she was taken 😮 After many many years together we split up & she told me that she saved me $4500. I guess she did 😊😂
I paid $1,800 USD for my wife's ring. Of course that was 20 years ago. I guess one would pay double or triple that with inflation over time. To me it was no big deal. My Filipina wife asked me- "Is that a real Diamond?" Ha ha. It is not a huge diamond, but it is a very nice ring. The price someone else pays does not worry me. Spend what you can afford.
Question - Why is it any onrs business what others makes. If what ever amount that man makes is what he can afford. The problem is when others invade the persons in the relationship that they have nothing to do with it but their opinions become probing and treaspassing. That's the problem. Not the couple that's ok with each other
This was good.. honestly, the cost of a ring should depend on the wife, but engagement rings usually come paired with a wedding ring when purchased. This should have been his plan. I also heard he was her boyfriend for 8 years. If this true, he could have saved much more money than 299 pesos during that time
This really depends on what the guy can afford...I would say up to $10,000 usd would be the limit...You must remember there is a engagement ring and a Wedding ring so that is two different prices
Nothing if it's all possible. Seriously as little as possible. Money doesn't grow on trees and money should be managed to secure a less stressful future together. Cost of rings and flashy ceremonies are a thing of the past for weak minded people. Better put that money to good use and allow that money to grow for tomorrow.
We meet again & we really do have a similar outlook 👍 25yrs ago I almost spent $4500 on an engagement ring, fortunately my then GF didn't want/need it. Since then, my thoughts are as you say.
If she does't think it's enough, then she shouldn't accept. If it's a nice ring and she doesn't accept, he should find someone else who doesn't want him for his wallet. You'll save money and frustration in the long run!
My husband and I been married for almost 3 decades ago and his wedding ring 💍 that he bought was $500 and I love it because that’s all I need it. Because the most important for us is our love and commitment to each other. And since my parents live in the Philippines he wrote letter to my parents and asked them their blessing to marry me and that’s very honorable and respectful to my parents. God bless us to each other and I thank God for that and that’s the most important to us. I like the old tradition in Philippines proposal wedding or marriage. Simple and more fun family ❤😊
This is "hopefully" one of the 2 rings she will wear on her fingers for the rest of her life. It's the ring that is supposed to reflect her value to you and the promise of a life together. You probably don't want to overspend, as you still need to priorities the most important things in your lives, but it would be nice to give her something that makes her shine and look at her finger everyday. It's about balancing expectations, your wanting to show your love and logic :). For me from $1000 to $5000 USD would be about right. You still have a wedding ring, wedding ceremony, etc.. to pay for later. I would probably not share the cost, because as long as she likes it, the cost shouldn't matter. If she's materialistic and her happiness is based on the cost, that would be a huge red flag. side note: In the US/Australia/etc.. you're also protected and can lawfully get the ring back if it doesn't work out, but I'm pretty sure there's no chance in the Philippines. Obviously, you were sure she was the one before proposing though ;)
True. Getting a ring back might be hard especially if that ring 💍 has been readjusted to specifically fit the Filipinas small finger 😅. So you better be sure that she's the one 😊. Thanks for watching!
My Filipina never asked for an engagement ring. Instead, she asked that we wear couple rings, just as you mentioned. They were very inexpensive, less than Ph 5000 for both. When we married, we got traditional gold bands and her parents, who had always been too poor to afford wedding rings, now wear our old couple rings to symbolize their marriage.
My Filipina fiancé only wanted a $100 engagement ring. The sales lady tried to talk her into buying a more expensive ring in Tagalog so I wouldn’t understand her. My Filipina doesn’t believe in spending several thousands of dollars on a ring because we both have the expenses of raising young children. Materialism is for people without children.
I'm sure you heard the story of the Filipina who found the receipt for her Temu ring & 4.75 USD I have an intrinsic value for the Pinay I wish to court if she will let me, and I'd go by the rule of thumb 3 mo salary, I know she'd poo poo that but everything I know about her is worth every hour worked
Ayun kinasal padin nmn dw sila sis haha khit ganun lng ang halaga ng engagement ring ni guy, parang ng rant lng si girl kc expected nya na ma pambili nmn sna si guy ng mamahaling engagement ring😅
I like how you cover a variety of topics, instead of the same old dating gimmicks other channel cover. I made my proposal to my wife during the pandemic.. It was over a video call, I asked I told her, “look, I don’t know when I’ll see you again, so we might as well do a k1 visa. Will you marry me and come to the USA with me?” And she said “yes 🥲”.. 2 years later she’s here, and I did a proper “simple” proposal at Bucca Di Beppo Italian restaurant in front of my friends and family. I also got her a simple engagement ring. I wish I could’ve gotten her a more expensive one, but on a k1 visa, plus planning a wedding, you do lots of spending. So far she’s happy with her rings.. so eventually I’ll upgraded in the future.
That is a very nice proposal! I'm sure she appreciated all your efforts. I am happy for you both. My husband and I did exactly that. We bought a nicer wedding band for our 10th year wedding anniversary. Thanks for watching and for commenting!

Thanks for this, I am flying to the Philippines tomorrow and I am planning on buying a engagement ring and don't want to spend a fortune.
Best of luck!
Hey there ,as always your insite is spot on congrats my C.F. friend.

Very nice! I think most Filipinas I know like the couple rings instead.

$0.00 or whatever a ring pop costs
Humor at its best 🤣
I plan on buying a 800-1000 us fake alternative diamond, I'll rather spend that money on a wedding and give it to her family

I don’t even want to tell you how much I paid.
Lol 😅. You don't have to. Congrats to you both!
@@conservativefilipina let’s put it this way, my adorable faince admits to been materialistic.
SAME AS CARABU
You mean carabao as in Buffalo 🐃?

@user-hm4oy7hw4t Some would probably prefer that. Kind of similar to a dowry, I guess.
what happens if thing don't work out, don't spend no more then $50.00 dollars
