It’s not the only difference. Voldemort wanted only power and be feared, because of his complexes from childhood. He was sociopath and he was enjoying every murder he did. Grindelwald was different. He wanted freedom for wizards. He wanted a completely new world without muggles which he took as problems, as barriers for wizards. He was like Hitler. Hitler also believed that things he do are good. Hitler also wanted to recreate the whole world. Hitler was sure that only one race is suposed to live, that one race is rare. Grindelwald said ‘Magic grows only in rare souls’. He believed that wizards deserve a world where they can live, love and be free. Grindelwald, in difference of Voldemort, could see emotions. He didn’t create his army by fear but by strong and liked thoughts. Also, he wanted to be a Master of death. That means he wanted to be stronger than death to reach his goals. So Voldemort and Grindelwald are completely differnt and in my opinion, Grindelwald is stronger and much better leader.

SkyWrath Gaming HaHA we don’t talk about that *pours holy water aggressively into the Potterverse to shield it from the blasphemy that would come next* Though weirdly, I actually went to go see CC a few months back and it was probably the most visually pleasing piece of stage production I’ve ever seen (not that I’ve seen very many but still), absolutely beautifully done in terms of giving you that eerie spine-tingling magical feel the OG books gave you but through set animation and imagery (magic tricks and special effects, stuff like that). The actors were also super talented which definitely helped, nevertheless the plot is so whack it makes the play hard to like especially storyline wise (especially if you just read the script and don’t go see the show, because parts of the show are the only redeeming qualities of this out of character arc-ruining unneeded sEqUEl that I still haven’t actually accepted as canon). I just..ARGH. So. Many. Plot Holes. Ok that’s it rant over.

People complain that the mirror should not have shown the flashback. I believe that moment of bonding with grindelwald is what Dumbledore desires most. It must have been extraordinary and euphoric to bind yourself to your lover in such a way. Of course he wants to go back to that moment.

When Newt showed Albus the blood pact he looked really unhappy. He seemed to not want to have it. Because he doesn't want to fight against Grindelwald, because he still loves him. When Newt asked if he can destroy it, and he answered "Maybe" then took it it was the same. He doesn't want to fight. Not against Grindelwald.
I think with the blood pact situation is that it got destroyed the day they had that three way duel or they never even hit each other so that's not the problem so probably Dumbledore still has it with him but Grindelwald made a copy of it and he knew Newt would try to get the blood pact I mean why would he let it be so presentable with himself? He knew newt would take it and give it to Dumbledore to deal with it and when he saw the blood pact he was in shock that it was there and not with him To destroy don't know how but I'm thinking to destroy it you got to have both people to redo the blood pact (don't think so) just thinking Same thing with Credence I'm thinking Grindelwald is just saying that his brother is Albus just for him to go to Albus to try to kill him but He knows that dumbledore can defeat credence and kill him (My biggest theory is the biggest threat for Grindelwald is Credence and that he got him on his side and he is telling Credence his brother is Albus and is trying to kill him what does Credence do? It's funny how Grindelwald is supposed to be an awful person with few redeeming qualities and yet he's still more decent than any other awful character in the franchise.
We all know how manipulative Grindelwald is but we cannot help but agree with him to a certain point. He isn't evil per se, he just has his own beliefs and follows them.
Tfw you remember that in the books, Grindelwald chose death over selling Dumbledore out to Voldemort. He loved him back the way Dumbledore wanted him to and he was capable of feeling something Voldemort will never be able to feel. It's what sets Grindelwald apart from Voldemort.

The difference between Grindelwald and Voldemort and what makes Grindelwald more powerful than Voldemort is his capacity to recognize emotion, especially love, something Voldemort could never comprehend.

People are complaning about the not explictness of their romantic relationship, I kinda agree with it, despite thinking the mirror scene is a good one. Now, thinking better, the mirror scene looks more like dumbledore’s closet in a way. At philosopher stone when Harry asks him what he sees in the mirror and he clearly lied, he was in the closet. At least for us, viewers. And I understand it, he was entitled to have secrets. But time hás passed and now we know his story and we know what he saw in the mirror. I doubt very much that his vision had changed over the years. But I still feel like he’s still in the closet, there’s no use to be subtle now that we know his story. Rowling really needs to make dumbledore get out of the closet. There’s so much potential in exploring their story. I really hope she will do that.
Daniely when dumbledore looked in the mirror in the philosophers stone he did see his dead family, because at that point in time he had matured and grown, realised that his dead family were more important to him than grindelwald and that they were what he wanted most. dumbledore always maintains an air of whimsical mystery around him so i understand why he said he saw the fluffy socks. in this movie, when the younger dumbledore looks in the mirror of erised he sees him and grindelwald because he is still in love with him despite the crimes he has committed and hasn’t gotten over him yet
I think the thing that people need to understand is that relationships are a journey. This is the second of five movies. Because of that, I actually liked that it wasn't "explicit" in this movie (I put that in parenthesis because I personally believe that it was pretty glaringly obvious they had a romantic connection in the movie. As with all love stories, it kind of cheapens the love story if everything is spelled out in black and white too soon, so the subtleties are very powerful). It leaves a lot of room for their relationship to be further explored in the next three movies, even if they were already romantic in the past. There is clearly an estrangement in their relationship, so it makes sense why it is not so explicit in CoG. I agree with your assessment that he is in the closet in this movie, and perhaps that is part of the reason he and Grindelwald parted ways, aside from their beliefs. Grindelwald wants to "love freely." Perhaps Dumbledore was afraid to. This movie does take place in a time where homosexuality not only wasn't accepted, but people were being killed because of it. Plus it was illegal in many cases. I imagine the wizarding world, especially purebloods who hold value in carrying on bloodlines, weren't too fond of homosexuality. Which makes Grindelwald's story all the more interesting, because he is a pureblood. So I also think it could be argued that Dumbledore was the one who wanted their relationship to be out in the open, while Grindelwald was afraid because of his bloodline, his beliefs, and his following, which would explain his desire to create a world where people could "love freely" (I think he was both referring to his own relationship with Dumbledore and trying to manipulate Queenie because of her love for Jacob in this scene). Anyways, as someone who is bisexual, I understand why people were up in arms about them not making it "explicit." But I just wish people had more awareness of the big picture in stories, that love stories are "stories" because the best ones take time to develop. I'm confident we will get the more "explicit" content in future installments 😊
Grindelwald did not want to hide his blood pact from the world, because he did not feel fear of losing it. The blood pact is just a symbol for his true love,no one can take his true love away from him.
The chemistry between Grindelwald and Dumbledore is so intense, it's so different, they are more than just lover who can't be together, they are more than just enemies who don't want to fight with each other Dumbledore is the most powerful wizard of all times and Grindelwald is the most powerful villain (he even laughed at Voldy on his face) And their ship is the most powerful ship ever just like black Pearl😝

I think Dumbledore wants to be with Grindelwald, he wants to go back in time to change things , convince Grindelwald not to do everything he has done, to be with him. It's clear that Albus relives those moments with Gellert and that he still loves him. But on the other hand, he's disgusted with Grindelwald's actions, he would like to confront him and deep down he knows that they can never be together. He must live with his regrets, both in love and in family. Finally Dumbledore's prophecy has come true, that people have an unfortunate tendency to be drawn to what makes them suffer the most.

Honestly, I don't care what other people say that making Dumbledore gay was out of the blue or made no sense. In the books, it was known Grindelwald and Dumbledore had this bond even though not much was said about Grindelwald in general. This love they had made so much sense and it made the whole situation more dramatic and so instense.

I hated it when jk started changing the characters up like Hermione being black, i never had a problem with Dumbledore being gay, cause it adds to his character while Hermione being black doesn't make much of a difference to her character, she is still the same brainy kid we fell in love with.
I think with Dumbledore it made sense as this is aspect never mentioned in the books. But black Hermione? Ugh no. She could have thought about it earlier or create new black character now in the movies. Hermione and Ron marriage problems? Double no. She shouldn't touch things that were already mentioned. I absolutely love this was well put together and the music is perfect I have been obsessed with these two. So sad they replaced Johnny with Mads Mickelson. I'm sorry but Mads can't bring the softness that Johnny can for their romance and I want to see more of their romance explored in the further movies. I hope Johnny gets the part back it just can't be the same. The chemistry with Jude Law and Johnny is beautiful and believable for these parts.

People are complaning about the not explictness of their romantic relationship, I kinda agree with it, despite thinking the mirror scene is a good one. Now, thinking better, the mirror scene looks more like dumbledore’s closet in a way. At philosopher stone when Harry asks him what he sees in the mirror and he clearly lied, he was in the closet. At least for us, viewers. And I understand it, he was entitled to have secrets. But time hás passed and now we know his story and we know what he saw in the mirror. I doubt very much that his vision had changed over the years. But I still feel like he’s still in the closet, there’s no use to be subtle now that we know his story. Rowling really needs to make dumbledore get out of the closet. There’s so much potential in exploring their story. I really hope she will do that.

Daniely when dumbledore looked in the mirror in the philosophers stone he did see his dead family, because at that point in time he had matured and grown, realised that his dead family were more important to him than grindelwald and that they were what he wanted most. dumbledore always maintains an air of whimsical mystery around him so i understand why he said he saw the fluffy socks. in this movie, when the younger dumbledore looks in the mirror of erised he sees him and grindelwald because he is still in love with him despite the crimes he has committed and hasn’t gotten over him yet
I think the thing that people need to understand is that relationships are a journey. This is the second of five movies. Because of that, I actually liked that it wasn't "explicit" in this movie (I put that in parenthesis because I personally believe that it was pretty glaringly obvious they had a romantic connection in the movie. As with all love stories, it kind of cheapens the love story if everything is spelled out in black and white too soon, so the subtleties are very powerful). It leaves a lot of room for their relationship to be further explored in the next three movies, even if they were already romantic in the past. There is clearly an estrangement in their relationship, so it makes sense why it is not so explicit in CoG.
I agree with your assessment that he is in the closet in this movie, and perhaps that is part of the reason he and Grindelwald parted ways, aside from their beliefs. Grindelwald wants to "love freely." Perhaps Dumbledore was afraid to. This movie does take place in a time where homosexuality not only wasn't accepted, but people were being killed because of it. Plus it was illegal in many cases. I imagine the wizarding world, especially purebloods who hold value in carrying on bloodlines, weren't too fond of homosexuality. Which makes Grindelwald's story all the more interesting, because he is a pureblood. So I also think it could be argued that Dumbledore was the one who wanted their relationship to be out in the open, while Grindelwald was afraid because of his bloodline, his beliefs, and his following, which would explain his desire to create a world where people could "love freely" (I think he was both referring to his own relationship with Dumbledore and trying to manipulate Queenie because of her love for Jacob in this scene).
Anyways, as someone who is bisexual, I understand why people were up in arms about them not making it "explicit." But I just wish people had more awareness of the big picture in stories, that love stories are "stories" because the best ones take time to develop. I'm confident we will get the more "explicit" content in future installments 😊

Honestly, I don't care what other people say that making Dumbledore gay was out of the blue or made no sense. In the books, it was known Grindelwald and Dumbledore had this bond even though not much was said about Grindelwald in general. This love they had made so much sense and it made the whole situation more dramatic and so instense.

I hated it when jk started changing the characters up like Hermione being black, i never had a problem with Dumbledore being gay, cause it adds to his character while Hermione being black doesn't make much of a difference to her character, she is still the same brainy kid we fell in love with.
I think with Dumbledore it made sense as this is aspect never mentioned in the books. But black Hermione? Ugh no. She could have thought about it earlier or create new black character now in the movies. Hermione and Ron marriage problems? Double no. She shouldn't touch things that were already mentioned.
