Albus Dumbledore was a great wizard, and a great man. He was, without question, one of the greatest characters in HP. People blamed him for, and I quote "raising Harry like a pig for slaughter", but they tend to forget that people aren't black and white. We're all different shades of grey. He'll always have my respect.

yes! he did what he needed to do to save the wizarding world. He knew Harry would have to die in order to defeat voldemort or the wizarding world would go under, perhaps even the whole world.
Mainly because the loudest complainers only remember the most recent movie and hardly bother to read the originals. Gleam of triumph at end of book 4 is forgotten despite that being the moment Dumbledore probably realized Harry didn't have to stay dead.
Also, I can't recall the scene in the movie but in book 7 when he tells Snape Harry has to die, Dumbledore closes his eyes as he says it. I believe it's because his eyes would betray that he had a feeling the death wouldn't be permanent.
He just, how do I say this, makes some questionable decisions

@@JohnDoe-zw8vx all people have, Dumbledores are just more questionable, he raised harry at the dursleys, yes blood protection etc etc, but he never asked anyone to check up on him, and that one line of Snape saying he raised him like a pig for slaughter, he didnt correct it, he didnt know he would survive, so technically that term is correct

Finally I meet someone who admires Dumbledore as much as i do. He isn't indeed perfect character but this is what I love about Wizarding World - grey characters - and Dumbledore is quite underrated. Personally he is one of my favorite characters

I’m happy I found the Dumbledore lovers. Dumbledore while he did mess up never once did bad and didn’t regret it. He loved Harry and he and McGonagall were the only ppl who actually knew Harry’s future and never once left him willingly

I always been a Albus Percival Wilfric Brian Dumbledore Fan and as I wacthed the movies over and over again I begin to understand how great and caring Dumbledore he was and still I don't understand why some people despise him or hate him all he did was only for the good of others specially for Harry he really was a great man and his sacrifice will always be remembered

@@holly_j7603 He wasn't the reason they were killed it was Petigree or Rons rat however you would like to call it but it was he who sold James and Lily to Voldemort not Dumbledore so you need a refresh of your memory because Dumbledore wasn't the reason for their death

He was talking about Tom
Sarah W he was talking about Tom but I feel it can also apply to young Dumbledore. In his youth he also foolishly sort power to the point it caused his sister’s death. He made bad choices but chose to do better as he grew older.

I love this! Honestly I’m a big fan of both Harry Potter and the fandom but I hate the Dumbledore slander. Like I know, EVERYONE KNOWS, that he’s not perfect. He’s actually really complex and human. But that doesn’t mean he’s not a good person. I feel like Dumbledore always try to do the right thing, even when it’s hard, even when it makes him look bad. Like a true gryffindor. He’s not viscous and he’s not JUST manipulative he’s doing it because he thinks it will be the best for everyone.
