Im 74. I have had books on applique. Well they were complicated more than I care to remember. Lol❤ this was a wonderful compilation of wa ys for me to learn. And omg how simple, how easy and yes fun too. I cannot wait to do a bunch of gift wall quilts. This is going to keep me out of trouble and out of the kitchen. Ha. I will make small art quilts for peoples walls. Im so doggone excited if you could hear me you would hear me squeal. So i want to say thank you and now get me a valium. Lol my favorite is the interfacing. Its so smooth and clean looking. Whew.this can be a lot of work. But so Worth it
I love the 2nd method. With not a lot of trouble, it assures a good finish. Thank you.
I love appliqué, but I don’t have an embroidery machine. THANK YOU for showing how to do beautiful appliqué on a regular sewing machine. Wow!
I cannot say thank you enough. I have learnt so much in this video. I have been trying to figure out the best way to include applique into my work without making mistakes and ruining it but now I feel confident and empowered enough to create something beautiful. You have a new subscriber. Thanks a million!!
Such a good tutorial on three ways to appliqué! So well organized, well thought out, pleasant presentation, and great photography for being able to see the actual stitching! Thank you for sharing your creativity and expertise with us!
Pueden poner la explicacion y los distintos tipos de telas en español por favor, gracias
Puede ponerle al video, la opción de subtítulos en español.
Great tutorial for a beginner like me, thank you!❤
I am a beginner as well. I have learned so much more from your one video. Thanks again.
Thank you so so much.
Very well explained with less talking
Very nice tutorial! I personally use raw edge method (first one), but instead of straight line machine stitching on the edge, I machine appliqué using small zigzag stitch using fine thread. It’s almost invisible but in only closer inspection I can see. It’s the quickest for me and I like it a lot. I used to hand appliqué and that takes too much time 😅 so I don’t do that. Only time is when I use felt fabric I like to hand appliqué using embroidery threads and to show off the thread. I’ve seen many people using interfacing in North America (second method) but that’s not so common in where I live but I want to try that out next. I have never seen reverse one (the last one). I learned something new! Interesting. 😊 Thanks so much for sharing!
I avoid doing appliqué whenever I can. I joined a BOM and did not realize that there were pieces that needed to be appliquéd. I watched your tutorial yesterday and I was able to do it. Thank you so much for making it easy to follow.
I've taught a number of friends and family to applique. But now I will recommend this video, for them to watch, save and use as a reference. Such a clear explanation and demo. Thank you for sharing.
I’m going to try all three before I decide which one is my favorite. They were all described simply and not intimidating for a beginner like myself. Beginning a baby quilt with appliqué, I look forward to beginning my project with the clear direction your tutorial has provided.
I want to use appliqué to cover some holes on a much-loved quilt. I’ve been worried about the raw edge method fraying over time. The interfacing method seems like the perfect solution!!!
Thank you so much. I'm making a memory quilt for my fiancé for his wedding gift and I didn't know how to appliqué. This helped.
This is such a fantastic tutorial, really gives a clear idea of what the advantages of each technique are and what the subtle differences are in the finished look of each version. Thank so much for this!
Thank for demonstrating three ways to applique, I can see where sometimes it would more advantageous to use one over the other. I always enjoy your "How to" videos, and I love your fabric color choices.
Thank you so much Susan - I'm glad you like my videos! 🙂🙂🙂
I think that is a lovely pattern i love reverse method but use all I love your video and will look more to many more thank you
I like to add light batting to make them puffy on some designs.
I'm so happy to run across your tutorial. I subscribed too. 😊 I especially like how you left your comments up long enough to read them instead of having to rewind.
Me encantó las tres formas de hacerlas. Good Bless you...🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🇵🇦🙅🏻🇺🇸📿
Going to try the reverse applique method but will probably use a double buttonhole ( my favorite) stitch for the applique ... I will recommend this video to my quilting friends.
Lovely, thank you. I have fallen in love with appliqué. Just a beginner though and watching so many videos. I really enjoyed and learned from yours.
What a great tutorial. So easy to follow and understand. When my little brain freezers I can find myself getting into a bit of a pickle and I'll be saving this video. I like this flower pattern.
Linda Janovitz
This answered my question ! Amen ! I like the interfacing and I really like the way the blanket stitch makes it look. Yes more work, but like I said I like the way it looks, crazy me!!!
I always use the raw edge method, it is by far the quickest way, thanks for the tutorial.❤❤❤
Thank you so much for this video. I especially like the reverse applique.
I am so happy I found your tutorial, I have looked at so many as a beginner and never felt so intimidating by them even if I replayed them so many times to get it, but yours put my fear away looking at the 3 ways, which I had no idea of the three. My favorite was the interfacing appliqué, again thank you so much, gonna subscribe right now🙏🌺
Great tutorial! Took the mystery out of appliqué.
I am a new subscriber, and this is the first time I have ever heard of reverse applique. it is pretty cool. I love applique of all kinds but always interested in learning new techniques. thank you
Great . Thank you so much for sharing
Thank you so much, I am making a quilt for my ganddaughter and need to add appliques. I was stuck! you solved my problem! Great tutorial!!
Thank you so much!! I was really struggling sewing my applique!
WOW I NEVER SAW REVERSE APPLICATIONS…… THANKS ❤️
Excellent video. Thank you so much.
You just blew my mind with the interfacing technique. Thank you so much!
Awesome information, thank you!!
This is EXACTLY what I was looking for and then some. FABULOUS easy to understand content. 🥰 New subscriber!
I agree raw edge must faster Working on the fabric you have to have steady hands and the interfacing a lot more work. You do lovely work with all three but i‘’lol do raw edge Thanks
Thank you so much! This was such a great, informative video. I thought I was going to have to recut my pieces because I saw someone tuck in all the edges and had no clue hoot do that.
Loved your applique video with the 3 ways to do it. I think my favorite will probably be the raw edge.
Great....thanks alot.....
Thank you for the fabulous demo. I subscribed. I like all the methods. I used the reverse on the back and front on a plain blouse that I cut flowers from a fabric. Professional presentation.
Wow... I love it n will be doing my applique project tonight. Thank you very much from The Land of Smile, Thailand.
My textile exam is tomorrow😬and this really helped! Thank you

I really enjoyed this video. I have used the raw edge appliqué, but not the other two. Thank you for sharing. I loved your tutorials.
Thanks so much Dorothy - I'm glad you found this helpful! 😊😊😊
Well done. 👍 Thanks
I don’t know which one I like more the reverse of the interfacing method. Great tutorial.
very helpful video for me as a new appliquer!
Such a wealth of information! New to sewing-pretty much. Love the look of applique' and can't wait to practice these techniques. Thank you for a simple, straightforward demo and explanation! Super job.
Thank you .. easy to follow directions .. now, I can try it with a little confidence.
This is a FANTASTIC video 🌷 so clear!! Definitely gonna try all 3 ways. By the end I had to turn down the volume a little- oye that song 🤣 (because I kept going back to see things again!) thanks so much
Thank you. Great job. I love this.
Learned a lot from this.
I’ve done the raw edge , but not tried reverse or interfacing, seems to me like I prefer the reverse, seeing how my hands are arthritic, not really bad ! I do have my good days!
Excellent!
Fantastic tutorial thank you
Thank you❤️❤️ iam sri lanka
I enjoyed this video very much. The reverse appliqué was cool.
It is really helped to see the three ways in one video. Thank you so much.
What a great Tutorial Nadra. Thank you. I've never tried the reverse method & usually do needleturn appliqie or interface by hand. I like the the 3D effect it gives. I can see, however that machine stitching also has the same effect with interfacing. I only do smaller projects, but on 12" I can see you still get a pretty effect with all 3. I'm s pleased I came across via someone else's post on IG this morning. Have fun with your stitching 🍃🌷🍃
Thank you so much Elaine - I'm glad you've enjoyed this tutorial and that you've found my channel! 🤗 I also like the 3D effect, but I also mostly work on smaller projects and the raw edge technique is much easier for small pieces IMHO. Needleturn appliqué is a technique I will have to try! 😀
Geweldig, wat een goede tutorial. Dankjewel van uit Holland
Me encantó. Presentación impecable. Además los colores como el arco iris. Gracias por compartir tus conocimientos. 😋😋😋😋😋😋😋
Very good explanation... Thank you 💕
Great tutorial! Thank you!
What a great tutorial. As usual you make it look so easy. I thought reverse appliqué looked hard, but now I want to try it your way. I think I like the first method. But will try them all.
I'm so glad you liked it, Star! I know there are different ways to do reverse appliqué and I found this the easiest way - hope you'll enjoy trying out these methods! 😀
very informative!!
Thanks so much for the tulip pattern, really looking forward to making it!
This is great. Thank you!
I like the raw edge better. It looks like traditional sewing. Thanks for the wonderful video.
I love the REVERSE one. Easier than using peel off paper
Sy suka melihat hasil dr applique, terimakasih buat ilmunya. Sebagai pemula yg nol ilmu, sangat membantu buat sy mencoba. Terimakasih
Nice lesson for beginners
That was great. Will try the reverse applique today. Thanks.
Thanks for sharing
What a wonderful tutorial. I have never heard of or seen the reverse applique method. It's beautiful! I have to agree that the raw edge is a quicker way to go. I love how organized your fabric is! Fabulous! Thank you for the tutorial!
Just found your channel. Such an informative video. Thank you :)

I wish FQS or someone on Etsy would put together a kit for that adorable sea-themed quilt... It's SO CUTE!!!
Thank you, dear Laura - I'm happy you like it. I hope to be working with shops on kits in the near future... stay tuned!
@@ellisandhiggs That makes me so happy!! Let me know if it comes to fruition!
I'll keep you posted! :)
Really really useful and so clearly demonstrated. ❤thanks so very much.
Great video, thank you dear ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
THANK YOU !!!🙂🎁
Note to self Interface method 0623, reverse method at 10.33 - thanks so much great video, subscribing
So cool I love the way you did all of them:) You can always learn new ways of doing applique:) thank you
I love your color combination! I like to do a narrow zigzag on the edge of my applique, but your first method is a lot quicker. Will try the reverse applique, it looks so much fun!
That's also a great way to finish off the edges - another beautiful stitch is the the machine blanket stitch, it almost looks like as if sewn by hand! Totally forgot to mention that in my video! 🙂🙂🙂
Funny, I'm not keen on the blanket stitch for some reason.
@@StitchBudapest Ahh I see... The naorrow zig zag is a beautiful solution! 😀😀😀
Excellent demonstrator.. I will definitely follow you!
