I bought the Shanling UP4 (discounted to £75) as a backup for my Qudelix 5K, but the UP4 became the first choice, it just sounds better and it's nicer to use
I've had my shanling up4 since 2021 and love it. Just unfortunate the early versions did not have full resolution via USB. The Up4 is quite old so i get the small balanced port.
Fiio came up with Btr15 now. Head scratcher all over again.
Why is btr15 cheaper than btr7
I'm gonna beat my BTR5 dong some more before I switch to something. Bluetooth is a must for any dong.
How does the M4 compare to the M3 MkII sound-wise?

If you like the Shanling UP4, but you want 4.4, you should have gotten the UP5. It is even more powerful, built as nice, and got all 3.5 4.4 and 2.5. It also come with a leather case(that is not as good as fiio leather case).

My BTR5 broke yesterday and I'm looking for a replacement, I'm broke so I can't fuck up with my purchase so I'm asking here so to be "safe". Is the M4 worth it? Compared to a BTR5 will it do the same (but better hopefully)? Planning to use it with my KZ ZSN Prox with a 4.4 balance cable. Thanks in advance to anyone replying to this. Much love.

@@carminedesanto6746 you never tried the qudelix. Its a better product in every conceivable respect including sound quality for the iems I tested both of them on. I suspect it's because they go probability because it uses better gain baising.

ZEOS quick question. Can you please explain to me why any dongle deck that you attach to a Samsung phone always has low volume output. Love your videos always entertaining and informative at the same time. But I know you said you had a Sony phone so I don't know if you have this issue or not. Thanks for making great videos
This is a good question which I share. I have a Samsung S20 FE, the reason I only use the Samsung dongle is because it seems some third party dongles cannot work properly with it. Maybe it is a way for consumers to get Samsung accessories.
The time has come. Give us a best portable dac and bluetooth dac series. Is a gryphon still worth it? Btr15? Some xduo? I dont know man. Too many choices
This. I'm just getting into the world of IEMs and I hate that modern phones don't have headphone jacks. I've been wracking my brain the past few days trying to find the best bang for my 50 to 60 bucks.

Yuki is... Yuki is powering my T60 Argon's... At max volume on balanced it sounds good and is plenty loud... Gonna call this thing Nagato because it's a punny name and this thing is small but deceptively powerful.
If the batteries aren't replaceable anyway, why not make bluetooth neckbands?

Moondrop little white has one. I agree with you. Zeos also loves neckbands, but he says companies think they are just out of style. I prefer them to tws as well

My first day with the m4. I can't get usb dac mode on my phone for some reason... I found a firmware update I can't do. And when the battery got to 20% it begins to destroy my ears with massively unbelievably loud chimes for I'm assuming low battery... Other than that... Edit: Nevermind... Damn, is there any way to stop mistaking these stupid charging only cables from regular ones...
I could only get certain usb-b to c cables to work, with a usb-b to c adapter on the b side. And it was fiddly. Always fiddly. Constant dropping out from a slight wiggle on different adapters even.
The max volume on bluetooth was way way lower than plugged in. And if you switched it would kill your ears. Also notifications were super loud all around.
I am far happier with my lil Q5k. I guess if I want a backup thing, I'll get another one... that thing is tiny configurable sounds great, and indestructible.
I basically only use my stuff at work, and on the move. It's been great. I gave up on the m4. All the cables that didn't work with the m4 worked with the 5k? I don't get how that m4 works at all...
I dont know why people buy dongles without Bluetooth. The price difference is marginal ...in fact q5k, btr5 are cheaper than a ton of dongles without Bluetooth. (Zeos, however , overlooks Q5k because he hates apps. ) But adding Bluetooth is huge quality of life feature.

Bluetooth results in sound compression. I wouldn’t say it’s a quality of life feature. It’s a convenience feature.

Q5k is lame. Cheap plastic housing. I for sure want to pair that up with a $1000 phone. And I know "but it has eq¡" so do other better alternatives that look and feel so much nicer.
@charliedunlap9220 no they don't. They have been measured and the qudelix is the only one that actually attenuates the voltage correctly for the PEQ. Power amp, UAPP were very poor, and wavelet was even worse because it doesn't even use PEQ. The qudelix is the best portable audio device to ever exist, objectively.

But this 31988 the upgrade frm 31993 for Bal But single butt they special design a single chips werks as well as dual SE chips.. Try it IF u only can find it now.. Peace!
I don't understand why buy adapters to connect Hi Def headphones when AKG K371BT sounds amazing without all those wires and gadgets!
Bluetooth is gaining a lot of momentum in headphones. So all those expensive wired headphones are so obsolete!
A simple audio interface such as MOTU M2 or M4 that has USB C connectors will blow any smartphone on any of those fancy headphones.
Because people want a device they can use on their whole collection....these work with IEMs, too.
