I did blind buy with this one and yes the opening is strong and I loved it as it reminds me how ink smell. The drydown is also pleasant for me where I can find some similarity with Guerlain Vetiver.
This is the best and most appropriate fragrance that you can pull off during funeral, no joke. This scent evokes the story of a tragedy, it's as if you're showing deep condolences to the family and colleagues of the late person. Personally I love it, but there's no occasion I can use this except for funeral.
This was my love and hate fragrance. Glad you get a similar vibe to me. I do really enjoy the dry down but that opening is taking some getting used to. Great review Paul👍🏻🙏🏻

I was sure i'd seen heard someone say haunted house fragrance about this... This is one of your best funny vids paul! So basically a scent to wear to a funeral or halloween party... perfect just what i've wanted as my daily driver :)

And it smells 10x more expensive than it should. Had a guy ask at work what it was, said the name and he said, "Sounds expensive". I paid 35 plus shipping
I completely agree with you when it comes to the opening. It is a bit rough. But the silage is much better. If you layer it with something you can get a very pleasant smell. Usually I pick something with tobbaco
THANK YOU for being honest about this fragrance! I watched CubaKnows sell the HELL outta this one and I bought it. WORST BUY EVER. I feel so bad about gifting it to my dad. But if I watch Cuba again, I'd almost buy it again. But not so much. This is an AWFUL fragrance.

I have never understood the hype of the Encre Noir line. Its just so off-putting and there is literally nothing pleasant in it. Different and unique doesn't always have to good... I would rather wear some completely generic Nautica fragrance instead of smelling like dust and earth.
@@malayneum I think I don't have to explain why smelling fresh like lemon is more fitting than smelling like damp earth. I mean just imagine getting out of the shower and smelling like that. Don't get me wrong everybody has its own taste but you shouldn't harass people with someones own preferences. Encre Noir smells straight up offensive. Thats the thing with fragrance, its not like food or drinks where you can follow your preferences to the fullest, everyone around you has to live with your choice!

Encre Noir is a revolutionary fragrance. Its human nature to smell like nature. 5million years ago we dwell in "damp earthy" caves. Its embedded in our olfactory senses. Its not natural to like orange juice. Orange juice is just a capitalistic modern construct.

Funnily enough the plants have evolved in order to smell pleasant to mammals so their fruits get eaten and the seeds get spread. And just because 10000 of years ago people smelled like earth doesn't mean that it smells good, they just didn't have the option to smell any other way. Quite in the contrary to your assumption, as soon as people got the possibility to deviate from these nature like smells they created rose oils, herbal tincturs and so on. It has nothing to do with capitalistic modern constructs, companies produce what people like and not people like what companies produce. There is a reason why there are so many blue fragrances, because they appeal to our embedded olfactory senses.
Finally true review of this terrible stinky fragrance. Of course it is subjective but sometimes I feel like some youtubers praise this one only because some other high-profile reviewer said it’s good

Honestly didn’t like this fragrance when I first got my nose on it there was just something off putting but now enjoy wearing it on a rainy day!
