Thank you for this helpful video. I bought mine this morning on a Black Friday sale at Target. I appreciate your addressing how the bowl is supposed to snap to the mixer. I didn't have a clue what that little clip was for, and I was getting stressed. So thank you for clearing that issue up. And as others have posted, your presentation was excellent!

Just watched this video and let me tell you that this video was a LIFE SAVER! I just bought one like that one but in a silver color and had trouble finding and working with the stand mixer! Loved your video! 💙
Great video/tutorial Jacob. My wife and I had to replace our 22 year old 'Kitchen Aid' 4.5q and we were looking to upgrade to this particular model. We're SOLD!
i just found one in the contour silver color on the kitchenaid website that was discounted 50%, and i was able to apply a 10% off coupon from retailmenot to bring it down to $180 from $400. the perfect christmas gift for my sister!
Me too. Same color as yours. DID WE JUST BECOME BEST FRIENDS?!?!?! I did learn how to attach the bowl. I haven't used mine yet, but playing around with it i was wondering why the bowl moved around after it lifted. My old one the bowl screwed into the base.

Nice review, Jake! Very thorough. I picked-up my first KitchenAid stand mixer a couple of weeks ago, as I plan to try my hand at baking. I chose the 5qt bowl lift like yours, but in the silver color. It's a bit intimidating, but I love it, and have made a few cakes with it, already. I hope that you'll do more videos soon. Take care.
I bought a cuisinart stand mixer just bc I’m not a really big on baking but since I bought it, I use it so much more than I ever thought I would. And I wanted to upgrade. One thing I can see that’s different is, the top part on the cuisinart where the motor is, has a lever and I can lift the whole top up to maneuver the bowl and attachments, I’m guessing you don’t need to that bc the bowl itself lifts up and down but that feature on the cuisinart was nice. My sis in law has a kitchenaid where the top and the bowl didn’t move and I found it a bit challenging to get things in and out.
thank you for the advice and demonstration I just got my first one my biggest problem was removing and reteaching the bowl you had the best review of all.
Hi, Great video! I just picked up this model used. I am looking for a flex edge beater. Can you tell me if you still have it? If so what is the part number? Thank you.

Keith Brookshire Thank you so much for your comment. I just purchased my Kitchenaid and was almost ready to return it because I couldn't remove the bowl, then I saw your idea and voila! Worked like a charm and so easy. Tku, tku. I really wanted to keep this machine.
Thanks for this vid I just took mine out of the box and I was mixing cookie dough and the bowl kept rattling I didn't know i had to "snap" it into place.
So helpful, thank you, but know you have me thinking... I've been using a borrowed Artisan Mini 3.5 quart, and it is perfect for most of my needs. It often do 2 dozen cookies, one batch of brownies, and even whip a single egg into meringue. it can handle all of this easily. Of course, the small bowl maxes out with bread dough to some extent. Now that I am ready to buy my own, I am trying to decide whether it is worth going with the Pro 5, even though I know that I will still mostly be using it for small batches, with the exception of bread doughs. What would you suggest?
Right now, this mixer is $229 brand new (!) almost everywhere including the Target and KitchenAid's websites. I don't know when the sale price ends. I got mine at Target the other day, the same blue - a great color - and it rang up full price, but I already had the Target listing on my phone and showed it to them, and the manager fixed the price. Just type "Professional 5 Plus Model" into Google or Target's search to find the listings. JakesBakes, thank you so much for the video!
I bought it from target on Saturday, if you ordered it online you get it for the $229, plus an additional 20% off, I ended up paying $209 out the door.

Don't buy refurbished! I went through 3 refer wished kitchen aid artisan design series. Each one was worse than the 1 before period a lot of them are rejects from QVC and Walmart which kitchen aid builds exclusively for them cutting a lot of corners. I learned that the hard way
Very good review, I just bought that same model of kitchen aid and it came with some kind of butter in the channels that go up and down the bowl. This is normal?

Great video! Thanks! I've always wanted to get one of these but it was a question between the tilt-back and the bowl-lift versions. Intuitively, I wanted a bowl-lift model as that looks much sturdier, etc. However, I curious as to taking off the attachments after use. So, you have mixed whatever, and lower the bowl. With a tilt-back, the tool is clear of the mixture. It doesn't appear to be the case with the lift models. Any thoughts on "shaking off the paddle" of batter in order to remove the bowl? It would seem to me there isn't much clearance once you lower the bowl. Thanks!
I know this is a late comment since you posted your video 3 yrs ago. Just hope you eventually figured out that removing the bowl can be a one-handed operation by simply grabbing the bowl handle upward as the bowl tilts up and unhinges from all 3 points.

Hello to everyone here. I just bought this mixer, and my mixer makes noise when using the flex beater only. I do have it attached properly. Does anyone know if this is normal due to the force of the beater edge hitting the side of the bowl ??? Also, what is contributing to the noise is that the stem that the beaters attach to has a little bit (1/8" about) of wiggle play, and it is this that is getting rattled everytime the flex beater hits the inside edge of the mixing bowl. Is this normal, or, should by stem have no play in it whatsoever ??? Any help is appreciated.
