As a teen who has just passed the beginner stage of "gyming" I realised it doesn't matter how strong you are when you start off it's about how much you want your goal to become real and your focus on what you really want to become
Even today, this is the most comprehensive "beginner tutorial" I ever came across. I "restarted" my body transformation journey about 5 weeks ago, doing mostly hammer strength machine exercises which was recommended to me, so I'm sticking to it for the beginning. Eventually, I wanna do free weights training, so this video was absolutely excellent.
Free weigths will be what works the stabiliser muscle. Machine unfortunately do the job of the core for you. I highly recommend freeweigth since it will make everything 10 times easier :)

Alex Len It's normal for a begginer. I started only a month ago and I looked the same. But I can say that I've improved very well because I see begginers now and realize how much my body has changed
Alex Len I still don't breath regularly. Usually do 3/4 reps with one breathe and take a few deep breaths and go again. Seem to be more explosive that way
you guys need to think that that oxygen is necessary for the muscles.. Your muscles need to be oxygenated when working out.. if not they will cramp up or have a worse injury
This kid is exactly how I was at 23 yrs old when I first started going to the gym. 6 years later my body is way more ripped but my legs have remained the same since day 1.
Another thing that this fitness guy (many to be honest) seem to forget to implement into training is inhaling and exhaling. It is crucially important for you to get the oxygen going trough the mouth into the lungs and out during exercises, it will benefit you more.
This is the first video that I watched before starting to hit the gym. Fast forward 18 months, I have now gained significant strength and muscle mass. Feels nostalgic :)
tom lewis i started going months ago and now seeing amazing progress. Even my friends noticed. Keep going man it takes time and make sure you eat enough.
tom lewis i get my carbs from rice. As a skinny person trying to gain weight, you might want to eat more carbs (from healthy sources like rice and bread of course, sugar from sweets and soft drinks are toxic) to ensure a calorie surplus. Dont forget your proteins though, even if skinny people require less proteins, we still need it for muscle growth, just don't go too far or your body cant absorb it all. Eggs are really good too, it contains minerals like zinc and others that are hardly found anywhere else and is vital to your immune system. I recommend that take it easy, you're not doing this as a career but to look good and be healthy! Good luck and keep going man!
All these people saying this guy is a toothpick. Haha I was also! I weighed 117lbs at 6ft. Skinnier than this guy. Max bench was 65lbs!! Yes, only 65lbs! Ridiculous and embarrassing! But you know what? I worked my ass off to where I am now! For my body type it is near impossible for me to gain weight. But within 6 years with of course some bumps in the road, losing motivation, family passing away, etc. I never lost focus completely. Now I weigh 160lbs not much I know but I can dumbbell bench press 95s for 5 reps, bench is at 225 for a good solid 4-5 reps, deadlift is at 315, squat is at 275 I mean these aren't mind blowing numbers, but from where I started it's a hell of an improvement for me. Not to mention I have a ton of definition now. :) Stick to it and you can see results in no time.
WOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This bring back memories!!!!!!!! Summer 1986,.......I was SUPER SKINNY !!!!!! and only 15. Joined a gym called "The Pump House".......A couple of body builders and a power lifter owned it.....One of the body builders saw me lifting one day and was quick to correct me on my form. I made a deal with them.....They let me work out for free all summer until school started if I would keep the floor swept and mopped, clean the bathrooms and showers, etc...... And those guys REALLY took me under their wing even came to watch me play football games,......Taught me EVERYTHING I know about lifting, nutrition, etc.....Took another kid who was 18 and turned him into a state ranked powerlifter his senior year. GREAT guys.....and GREAT memories......Keep helping out the kids !!!!!
Hossam Balouiri umm what? i think most teen that go to the gym right now and not aiming for professional bodybuilding carrer don't need a trainer do research on your eating and try out new exercise and find your weaknesses to make a perfect workout for yourself. No insult but i think you need abit more motivation plus patient in your mind and it will all workout well (plus you need a strict diet too because it's scary how all that hard work can go to shit if you eat like shit for 2 weeks believe me i went through the "bored" phase of workout and nearly kill all my "work")
If it’s your first time your first couple months you’ll gain what’s called ‘noob gains’ where you’ll gain muscle and you’ll gain it fast but then it slows down but keep at it!!
I am so happy I found this my nephew wants to start at the gym and will be able to in just a couple months! I cant wait to help him grow and build some muscle to get ready for Travel Sports.
I wish I had someone like this to help me out. sucks to train alone with no experience. after a year of hard work I gained incredible 2 pounds haha. still motivated
I didn't have a diet plan beore but now I have it's about 2500-3000 kcal, 120-160g protein, 100g fat, and don't know how exact carbs but I eat shitload of oats/rice/munchies and milk. I'm 145 lb
+Erich Albrecht yeah im skinny as fuck too,i should go to the gym too.But im just too young, ill wait 1 more year Also ,GO SWIMMING! Very VERy good for building muscles
+Kaneki Ken swimming is more cardio than building muscles. It'll tone your body to make your muscles more visible but it isnt a great exercise to build muscle mass. Never the less, Swimming is the best for condition training.
I'm a professional bodybuilder and i had a friend like this (very skinny) and i trained him for free and gave him lifts to the gym and even bought him stuff and later when he grew and i taught him he left me, got his own friends so he can train them with ehat i taught him and say very bad things about me after all i did for him. Be careful this doesn't happend to you, he was also my best friend. With him i learnt there are a few people you can really trust.
Vernon Hargreaves III lol yeah. That was 2 months ago. He still goes to the gym but he is skinny as fuck and he has drank like 99 mass gainers and still. He didn't learn shit from me tho cuz he is stupid asf.
I get why some people dont like working out a lot bc some dont want big muscles but I dont understand how some people just completely stop. I'm gonna try to work out at least 3 times a weeks to have at least some muscle
I am a girl on my teens and this has been by far the most useful video on the internet that I have found. Workout videos are often just for the aesthetics and don’t go in detail about proper form, but he explains everything so well. Tysm

Here I am today as a 16 year old , even though I'm not their yet, I will reach the top.
And keep on going bro!

Another thing that this fitness guy (many to be honest) seem to forget to implement into training is inhaling and exhaling. It is crucially important for you to get the oxygen going trough the mouth into the lungs and out during exercises, it will benefit you more.

10 years ago and still better than most of the videos here on youtube
I actually started working out around when this video was published. I can relate many things.
Are you skinny too? What advive would you give in terms of intensity of training?
tom lewis i started going months ago and now seeing amazing progress.
Good luck and keep going man!
tom lewis apologies I cant provide any sources right now except this amazing channel called "What I've Learned"
4aLse hey dude i wanna start working out but there is one qustion thats buzzing in my head does it stunt growth?
Chris Ellis great work
Chris Ellis inspiring considering I just started working out and I'm super skinny
This is exactly what I need to know right now , today is my day 2 in gym
Keep it up man!
I'd go to gym if that dude was my trainer
Hossam Balouiri umm what? i think most teen that go to the gym right now and not aiming for professional bodybuilding carrer don't need a trainer do research on your eating and try out new exercise and find your weaknesses to make a perfect workout for yourself. No insult but i think you need abit more motivation plus patient in your mind and it will all workout well (plus you need a strict diet too because it's scary how all that hard work can go to shit if you eat like shit for 2 weeks believe me i went through the "bored" phase of workout and nearly kill all my "work")
Hossam Balouiri you can easily find one personal trainer but they are not free

+Erich Albrecht yeah im skinny as fuck too,i should go to the gym too.But im just too young, ill wait 1 more year

+Kaneki Ken swimming is more cardio than building muscles. It'll tone your body to make your muscles more visible but it isnt a great exercise to build muscle mass. Never the less, Swimming is the best for condition training.
Bro this guy is so lucky to have Brandon as his coach
I'm a professional bodybuilder and i had a friend like this (very skinny) and i trained him for free and gave him lifts to the gym and even bought him stuff and later when he grew and i taught him he left me, got his own friends so he can train them with ehat i taught him and say very bad things about me after all i did for him.
