- It's Christmas doll repaint time!
I hope you're all excited for Christmas, having some well deserved rest and relaxation, and just taking some time to chill out after a hard year.
This was supposed to have come out last Xmas but...well...I didn't her in time 😅 So this is the year!
If you haven't seen The Nutcracker and the Four Realms - check it out! Perfect feel good Christmas movie and the costumes are just sublime 🤗
And what a hard year it's been...😵💫 About 3 days after putting up the Orchid Mantis video my doctor called to tell me that I have significant osteoporosis (brittle bones) for my age (under 30) and that it's bad enough to require an infusion of medication, which I had last week - it was brutal!
So really have to slow down and start taking better care of myself 😞
So it was so nice reading everyone's comments on the video, you cannot imagine how much it lifted my spirits - thank you all so much 🥰
May 2023 be significantly less shi*y than the last couple of years 😅😁

this doll was beautiful! for pointe shoes, i would recommend using some sort of card stock as a base for the sole and then going straight in with your fabric!! it’s a lot less bulky and you can manipulate the pose of the feet a bit better without having to modify the doll!! you did a lovely job though, especially with it being your first time!

@@kreepykittycreations She is with my help, she's recovery very well but she and her friend have to visit the doctor on Friday just to make sure everything's ok.
I think the pastel layers are very important to the whole look. The dress is gorgeous! I notice you pattern both sides of the bodice. The dolls are symmetrical, so you can actually do just one side and make them the same.

Oh my goodness she's beautiful ❤️ I really love this movie also. I hope your health gets better. And some tips I've used on making monster high shoes is paper clay. And also foam clay. It worked beautiful for me. And I hope you have a very merry Christmas and holiday also.❤️

I make clothes for my daughter's teddies, and she loves those.. but recently she asked for some for her barbie+monster high dolls. Teddies are squishy and forgiving when pattern drafting.. hard dolls? Not so much xD

Wow... The amount of work that went into this... She's stunning. 💖💖 I'm realizing myself that artistically sometimes the longer things take, the better they end up being.
That aside-sending lots of healing energies your way. I got diagnosed with a chronic illness (auto immune) this past year and its an adjustment period getting used to a 'new normal' and doing things much differently-really hard at the start and not easy to find what works until you do. Treat yourself very gently, remember how brave you are because you are getting through this and I hope that you feel much better soon. 💖❤️💖❤️💖❤️

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear that 😢 I have autoimmune disease too, which is what has kind lead to my current issue (go figure 😅 the medecine ive been taking to help my RA has ruined my bone density 😢), so I totally feel you 🥺 Been trying to adjust for over 2 years - I'm so bad at resting when I need to >///<

@@kreepykittycreations sending lots of (((hugs))) your way! I really hope that they find something that can ease symptoms on both ends so things are more manageable for you. Two years is a long time... I'm so sorry things are tougher with the added complication, but I'll stand by it-you are really brave. Sometimes resting is the hardest thing to learn and I've found myself I was forced to learn it-I've been really anemic at the start of the year and bed bound and having no energy taught me that rest and sleep is so important for healing. Its hard to take time when there's so much to do and life doesn't stop but it will if you put those brakes on sometimes. Listening to your body is a definite learning curve but it's an every day thing i think. Anyway, sorry for rambling on! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Oh no, anemia can be so debilitating 🥺 I'm so sorry to hear that... have you heard of the "Spoon Theory"? 🙂 I've been using that to try and manage my days working with how much energy (spoons) I have - I think it's helped 🥰🥰

@@kreepykittycreations ❤️❤️❤️❤️ I have heard a little about spoons, its a good analogy and definitely puts it into a more manageable perspective. I feel you on the anxiety front though too lol.. 😅 It's the hardest thing to rest on your laurels haha. My hubby was just saying to me today though that if the moment you are in right now is better than the one in your head ( I.e the things that you are worried about, how the future might be) then the moment is a better place to come back to. I thought that was a lovely thought, and he reminded me that those thoughts are just anxiety and not grounded into reality. The biggest challenge and hurdle I've faced so far is managing my stress levels and honestly, having to let go of so much stuff is starting to make all of the difference.
You are an amazing artist, and I hope that it gives you healing to do it but take all the time to pour that same love into yourself too 💖💖💖❤️❤️❤️❤️💕💕❤️❤️❤️

It's hard having to give things up (I used to draw manga, but drawing is one of my biggest triggers now; and had to stop working 😞) but definately necessary 🙂 stress is such a big factor, and boy, my job was stressful 😅

Oh my gosh she’s exquisite.I loved that film and it was a shame she was the bad guy as she looked so pretty.I love the pace paint,her eyes are just beautiful and look realistic.The hair is just lovely and that DRESS it’s a masterpiece.I think it’s one of the most complicated and detailed dresses I have seen since watching doll repaints,and matching shoes too.All dressed up she looks outstanding and what a way to end out the year with this extraordinary gorgeous Art Doll. She’s my favourite doll I have seen made this year from any of the doll artists and there’s been a lot.I am glad you did not rush her last year.Because she’s PERFECT this year .I love ,love,love her 🥰

@@kreepykittycreations ☺️ yeah don't get me wrong I loved the fantasy feel but it really didn't have much to do with the nutcracker besides a few things but it's still just didn't feel like enough they could have left the nutcracker named out of it and it could have just been the four realms and for someone who's passionate and really loves The nutcracker it made me a bit upset if it didn't have anything to do with the nutcracker or that story it would have been amazing but because they added the nutcracker in the name and a few of the characters I just wish it had a bit more to relate to The nutcracker it's still a cool fantasy film but I just wish I had a bit more nutcracker storyline involved ☺️

My fav version of The Nutcracker is the old animated where the Nutcracker was unclear droslmeier's nephew, called Hans and the girls name was Clara 🥰☺️ it's such a great story, and actually did feature the Nutcracker as a main character 🥰🥰
@@kreepykittycreations ☺️ truth be told I have seen so many different versions of the nutcracker and honestly I liked every single one I would like to see them all, but I've seen a lot 😂 I've even watched someone that was so bad it was funny ☺️ but that is also why I'm so passionate about it, and I think I might want to write my own version of The nutcracker and the four realms. one where it's just the four realms take away anything that has to do with the nutcracker, and then another one that has a lot more to do with the nutcracker to better fit the title of the nutcracker and the four realms😅 I don't know how well those will turn out because I'm not the best writer but I think I can give it a shot since the story is kind of already mostly laid out already for me I just have to tweak a few things ☺️ but that's just an idea ☺️ still an okay movie though

I think writing is mostly about being passionate about what you're writing and enjoying the creative process (I try to remind myself of that when I start stressing about if my writing is "good" or not 😳☺️).
