    Just to put this into perspective, the amount of energy that your Bluetooth headphones emit is around 0.1W about 0.012W actually passes through your head. And about 0.00005W gets absorbed. Compare this to sunlight which contains about 1,000 W/m^2 on a bright day. Standing in this causes about 30W to be absorbed. Not only do UV quanta contain about 300,000 times more energy than Bluetooth, but on an average day, you absorb close to 2 million times more energy from ambient light than you do radio waves.

      These newer phones having no input slot is actually such a modern day scam, it doesn’t actually take up very much space, and apples ‘solution’ of making you buy the extra cable that attaches to your charging slot means you can’t charge at same time as well wearing down the slot (also probably design, so you buy a new phone).
      Then they can charge top prices for Bluetooth headphones and airpods (easily lost), not to mention the numerous problems with Bluetooth running out of charge, connecting and pairing when you just want to play music
      The same with Apple using a combination of TypeC, Apple charger, different MacBook chargers having 90$ adapters in 3 different wattages..

    Well, there's research called EMI (electromagnetic interference) that tries to understand how we can be shielded of radio waves or radiowave which means typical low utility frequency.
    Of great concern is that those frequencies can interfere with other electronics to malfunction, hence it's not a far stretch that it may interfere with our bodies as well.
    Anyhow, those waves are increasingly abundant in our environment on top of the natural electromagnetic fields.
    This is why research has doubled over the last decade how to shield it.
    Turns out, metals, carbons, ceramics, cement based materials and what is called "multifunctional material" (a mix of metal and cement for example). Metals and carbons are dominant for now but carbon fiber and cement based ones are on the rise.
    However, low frequency magnetic fields induce circulation within the body. The strength of these currents, if sufficiently large, can cause stimulation of nerves or affect other biological processes. There's definitely a biological effect on your body. These changes are not necessarily harmful. But it can put extra stress on the body without you realizing it.
    *It's NOT disputed in science that low frequency of electromagnetic fields do trigger biological effects in your body*
    Reported symptoms are not life threatening, but it may cause in some individuals headaches, fatigue, nausea or
    loss of libido in males 😂 (this alone is why there's research on it - just joking )

    I tend to agree... we are already "swimming" in a ridiculus amount of signals.
    But I disagree that we have to go under the ocean to avoid it !!!
    I remember an apartment that had been accidentally "shielded"... meaning that you could BARELY get cell-phone signal right at the window, but had to actually go out on the balcony to have a proper conversation.
    And how do you accidentally "shield" an apartment you might ask?
    I assume they renovated it using foil-covered insultion, and then installed modern energy-windows which has a thin (invisible) metal-film on it, which not only keeps the heat inside, but also blocks a lot of the signals. So with almost all walls and windows covered in metal-film, it becomes a bit like a faraday cage.
    Most people would hate that, but I guess for the few people who cares about this stuff, this might be the way to go... Would have been interesting to test the signal at that old apartment with some proper testing equipment though, to verify how well the "shielding" actually worked.
    P.S. The apartment was in the inner city, so that area would have had plenty of cell-phone towers.

    • @TheKingTywinLannister
      @TheKingTywinLannister 8 місяців тому +6

      Yes. That’s great. However you must not have any cellphones or other radiation emitting device in that place out of airplane mode or they will bounce off the walls and back at you and phone for example boost it’s signal to max when having bad reception

    • @DanildFlamme
      @DanildFlamme 8 місяців тому +3

      @@TheKingTywinLannister True... Though I wonder how much strength they can actually gather inside the "shielded area" with a cell-phone, compared to the massive "signal-soup" we are walking in.
      But it would anyway be kind of silly, if someone shielded their home, and then added signal-creating devices INSIDE the "shield".
      BUT, usually these "shielded" homes are accidents, and sometimes even causes massive problems for the landlords, because they have a hard time renting them out. Because most people don't want to live in a home, where they can't get proper signal.

    • @TheKingTywinLannister

      @ultradeadd it is not unanimously confirmed or proven by scientific research that it is completely safe so it is wise to be more safe than sorry if you are serious about your health

    • @DanildFlamme
      @DanildFlamme 8 місяців тому +3

      @ultradeadd I personally wouldn't... The effort it takes to live a life "shielded" from that radiation takes serious commitment. Some people claims that it has harmful effects, and you know what? It might be true. (Keep in mind, that there is almost ZERO financial interest in proving the dangers, but MASSIVE financial interest in proving it is safe. And research costs MONEY, and is usually financed by companies, so you can expect it to be HEAVILY biased.)
      However, life is full of risks, and I personally believe that other risks, like the risks of traffic and similar, is A LOT bigger... So I choose to not worry about the risks from signal-radiation, because I believe I am far more likely to die from one of the many other dangers in this world.
      But that assesment of risk is a personal choice, and just because I don't agree with their risk-assesment of signal-radiation, doesn't mean I don't understand the potential issue.

      True. This, for example:
      _"Determining wireless radiation’s health effects with certainty is difficult. Researchers cannot ethically subject people to endless hours of cellphone radiation to gauge the results. Scientists have to rely on alternatives such as animal studies or epidemiological research, where challenges include getting subjects to accurately recount their wireless use and pinpointing the specific causes of disease or harm. Many health effects of toxic exposure, especially cancer, take years or decades to appear. And the mechanisms of how wireless radiation could affect the body at the cellular level are poorly understood._
      _"Research funding on the issue has also been scarce in the U.S., despite frequent calls for more study. Research (and researchers) raising health concerns have come under sharp attack from industry, and government regulators have remained skeptical. A key FDA official, for example, dismissed the relevance of the federal study that found “clear evidence” of cancer in lab animals, saying it wasn’t designed to test the safety of cellphone use in humans, even though his agency had commissioned the research for that reason._
      _"Linda Birnbaum, who led the federal agency that conducted the cellphone study, said that while proof of harm remains elusive, what is known means that precautions are merited. 'Do I see a smoking gun? Not per se,' she told ProPublica. 'But do I see smoke? Absolutely. There’s enough data now to say that things can happen. … Protective policy is needed today. We really don’t need more science to know that we should be reducing exposures.'"_

    From what I can gather, EMFs appear to disrupt mitochondrial function, specifically affecting the passage of electrons through the electron transport chain. This effect essentially lowers the mitochondria's efficiency and ability to generate ATP, the energy currency of the body. This lowered ability to generate ATP has cascading effects since essentially every process in the body requires ATP.Not to mention EMFs have been shown to disrupt Voltage Gated Calcium Channels on cells. Calcium is one of the most abundant minerals in the body and is used as a cell signaling agent. EMFs affect VGCC and cause a flood of calcium into the cell. This also has cascading effects and results in the production of reactive oxygen species specifically super oxide dismutase.

      I was just reading a study on this. Very low power levels are required to disrupt the calcium channels, and it only happens with man-made EMR - because it's polarized. Natural EMR is not. Man made EMR is also subject to constructive interference, so at certain points its amplitude is increased dramatically.

    My high school chemistry teacher used to debunk many science myths for our class, one of them was the claim that phones or any kind of regular electronic device radiation causes cancer. He showed us the equations for the energy of the individual photons of such fields and then compared them to the energy needed to strip electrons from atoms or even cause changes in the nucleus of the atoms, the energy levels were way off. The kind of energy you need to break these bonds is much higher and we see such in ultraviolet radiation, x-rays and gamma rays. The visible spectrum has much higher energy photons than the ones our electronic devices make, yet we are constantly exposed to such radiation and suffer no damage from it. The problem is people hear the word radiation and get worried because it's a scary word they don't really understand. There is a good chance I even explained or remembered something incorrectly, but I still stand by my belief because at one point I knew the exact explanation rooted in scientific fact.

      To the best of my knowledge, you can shield against signals with much less than lead... It is just electromagnetic radiation, not nuclear radiation we are talking about.
      As I mentioned in another comment here, sometimes people accidentally make their houses/apartments into accidental semi-"faraday cages", where a lot of the signals ends up getting blocked. (of course not all signal, but a large reduction is still something).

    Learning about Waves in physics my teacher once showed and made us describe why a chocolate melted in the microwave and why only in spots with a lot of distance between them (it wasn't spinning).
    The energy that it took to melt a chocolate is insane. Short wave radio travels across the planet and it's negligible compared to the microwave oven. You are far from considering to give radio waves relevance when calculating with the energy levels of a microwave oven.
    Your microwave oven uses about 1 kW, 1,000 Watts. Bluetooth has less than 100mW, 0.1W.
    You need a thousand times more energy to even have the wave go through you body (x-Ray). Saying Bluetooth is dangerous is like saying your moped is as powerful as a plane.

    Cellphone companies have to provide a SAR rating, which determines how much radiation the phone emits to the user when the face of the phone is being directed towards the head of the user. In Europe, the allowable SAR value is lower than in the U.S.. The latest iPhone, for example, did not get European approval for this reason. If this is what they allow, you can only imagine what is actually best for your health. Use your discretion and think critically about the real effects of Bluetooth, and not just 'what we're told is safe' about it.
    Further, our heads are full of water and electrolytes that conduct electromagnetic radiation.

      I think the point of this video was to illustrate that we are actually constantly getting bombarded by harmful cosmic radiation constantly throughout our lives that greatly exceed any level produced by modern electronics. Modern electronics have tiny batteries and have to be very efficient in order to have decent battery life. Heck we say the sun is good for our healthy but just 1 hr of direct sunlight exposure on a sunny day can greats increase your risk of skin cancer unless you use protection. Look at anybody who was worked under the sun for large periods of their life and you will see their skin is lightly damaged. The least of your worries is the signal from your headphones.

      There are some who disagree with your conclusion. Their disagreement rests on actual studies.
      How many black swans does it take to nullify the claim that black swans don't exist?
      One. It takes only one swan to nullify that claim.
      How many instances of harm does it take to nullify the claim that cell phone emissions aren't harmful?
      One. It takes only one instance of harm to nullify that claim.
      Had there been at least one instance of harm? Yes, there has. So... with that in mind, your rationalization has no teeth.
      Let's hope that one day neither you, nor anyone you love, find themselves diagnosed with cancer and 6-months to live. That would suck, wouldn't it? Especially if it was a loved one whom you told to use the cell phones because they're totally safe.
      You might also consider this:
      The precautionary principles states that if in doubt, abstain.
      Then, there's the issue of 'conflicts of interest'. The studies that say cell phone emissions are harmless just happen to be funded by industry dollars. If consumers stop buying cell phone products and services, they stand to lose billions.
      They're betting that you want your cell phone today, more than you care about cancer tomorrow. And, that's a bet that they're winning.
      And, just like the tobacco played their games in court with the 'you can't prove cigarette smoking causes cancer' line, so too does industry care to take the chance that if they ever get taken to court, they'll be able to play the same game.
      So, if an ordinary human like me or you wish not to be gridlocked by those with massive wealth, who can afford to postpone trial after trial via legal tactics, we'd do well to consider whether another round of Angry Birds is worth that cancer diagnosis with 6-months to live.
      But hey, I'm trying to be helpful here. In the end, it's your choice. Please choose wisely.

    @WEIRDSPACEMYSTERIES-et5yg 8 місяців тому +2

    Bluetooth headphones emit non-ionizing radiation, which is generally considered safe for human health. Non-ionizing radiation includes radio waves, microwaves, and visible light, and it lacks the energy to ionize atoms or molecules, which means it doesn't have the potential to damage DNA or cells.
    Ionizing radiation, on the other hand, has enough energy to remove tightly bound electrons from atoms or molecules, potentially causing harm and increasing the risk of cancer.
    So, in the case of Bluetooth headphones, you should not be concerned about ionizing radiation being harmful to your health. They are designed to emit low-power, non-ionizing radiofrequency (RF) radiation to transmit audio signals, and there is no established evidence to suggest that this type of radiation poses a significant health risk. However, if you are still concerned, you can use Bluetooth headphones at a safe distance and limit prolonged exposure, but the risk is considered very low.

    Yes, that's a ridiculously dumb question. First of all, bluetooth uses the same frequencies as traditional Wi-Fi (Usually 2.4 GHz), also your (and any other router) will have to produce that signal at a way bigger range, but I take it no one ever smashed their own router or cellphone for fear of radiation.
    Secondly, any electric device produces an electromagnetic field, which includes wired headphones as well.
    Third, most people keep their phones next to their genitals all day long.
