I realize few people read the comments but I just want to say that I'm VERY proud of Chevy. I own a Ferrari and I've always thought the Vette's had the power but the looks were dated and performance limited.....and the rear-end never looked like more then a square butcher block. This 2020 car changes EVERYTHING! If it didn't have the Corvette badge, you'd think it was a McLaren, Ferrari or some exotic. Yeah, the rear end still echoes of the Camero but beyond that the engineers and designers at Chevy really knocked this one way the fuck out of the ballpark and brought Chevy back to the forefront of any buyers list. Instead of falling by the wayside, Chevy stepped-up and answered back big-time and I'm proud of them....and at this price point I think they're leaving $20-$70k on the table. It's going to be VERY hard for someone to pull the trigger on an Italian sports car when they can have this for a fraction of the price. Anyone who spends more is doing so purely for snob and boasting issues because when it comes to performance, looks and practicality this 2020 Vette is dollar-per-value soaring way higher then any other manufacturer can even conceive of touching. Not since the Apollo program can we be so proud!

With the z06 model in the future, the zr1, and even the z51. These can top out at 60-70k which is 2008 gtr territory.

This is very Chevy Vette. The basic component of a car is the engine, it’s heart. What I see is the best development of the Chevy small block. My first car was a ‘55 Chev with a small block 265. It was the best running of all my cars pre 1990’s.
This new design is thrilling to me and I cannot wait to drive one. I always wanted a Ferrari, but not the problems with their engines. Now an American Icon on the 50th anniversary of the moon landing, also the 50th anniversary of my induction to the Air Force, hits a high that makes me proud and a possible new Corvette owner.
I am still in shock and awe about what actually just unfolded before my very own eyes, I just cannot believe it, it. is. like. Corvette suspended reality.....

@Jack njones with the Corvette dealers only get a certain allocation. The less cars they are able to get and the more buyers they have wanting the car people will pay as much as they can to get it.
If you choose to pay a makeup. That's on you. It's pretty simple, dealers will tell you if they are especially if you put a small deposit down. The way I figured is even if I have to fly to another state and have the car shipped back, it's would be cheaper than an insane markup. 400 round-trip plane ticket and between 1500 to 2000 grand shipping. Save 7500 on a 10 grand markup.

Not only can you get a z51 fe4 starting around mid 60s....its sub 3 second 60 mph ...its durable as a daily drriver...thats one extra feature the corvette offers that has kept me in new corvettes for decades. This will be my fourth new corvette and it should be without a doubt the best one yet. Corvettes iconic american sports car nature. Fastest, best looking, best handling most exoensive one Ive purchased but money well spent.

There will be a few old school people not liking it, but performance purist realize that if the car is to keep pace with foreign competitors it had to evolve. I think the track numbers are going to win over many doubters. This thing is doing a 3 sec zero to 60 as a base Stingray, let that ink in, can't wait for the track data and what the higher end vettes will be like.

You can't compare modded vehicles against stock. If that's the case, I know Civic Type Rs and Focus RS' and Mercedes Hatches that would decimate these cars on the track.
Stock for stock? The Ford GT is a true exotic that annihilated these cares on the track. It IS a race car. The NSX is a track car and also scores better times.the GT500 has hundreds more HP and torque, but is more brute force than track. I heard it did quite well though.

yo D.F...I have the LT1 in a 14 c7 vert. A6...I would like to own a Z06 or Zr1...but I am glad I don't, because with 460 hp, I can barely restrain myself from going over the speed limits ..which are too low for the freeways...NOW...I don't track my car, but it would be a nice entry at a local car show...any more power is just a quicker way to losing my Lie.Sins...Throttle Discipline, or else.
WOW! I'm sure that for the top of line, it will be closer to $100K, but hey, that is still going to be cheaper than the GT500 and it will perform better. They are different cars, but what a choice to have.
Z51 should be 75k, convertables at 70-80k. then work the way up to when they roll out the ZR1 in about 4 years in the mid 150's. The Zora, if it happens will be the race spec and yeah.. dunno bout that one.

I feel some cars look bad in pictures, but in person are beautiful. I have never seen a car that looks good in pictures, look bad in person. This is a beautiful car and it's up there in design and probably performance.

I gotta say as someone who was disgusted by GM's lack of quality and lack of care for engineering I gotta say they've came a long way since 10 years ago. I guess it will be a buyers market for the C7 and older cars. :) What a beautiful machine. I wasn’t sure I would like a mid-engine Corvette in concept. I think Chevy did extremely well in the design.
