Eddie Money played me a personal concert in my back yard for 7 years and never knew it. He used to play a place called Vernon Downs for "Fireworks over Central NY" every summer for a long time. I lived a half mile from the horse track. I would go in my back yard put out a lounge chair and watch the fireworks and I could CLEARLY hear his music coming from the track. I'd like to go back to those times... This song hits so much harder the older I get. Rest in peace, Eddie. Thank you for the music.
Eddie is far from a one hit wonder. Huge rabbit hole of music. He opened up a outdoor music venue here in Michigan, called Pine Knob, every Memorial Day weekend for 28 straight years. ❤
Eddie Money was a hit making machine from the late 70's through the mid 80's. Gimme Some Water is my favorite of his. He had bigger hits than that, such as Baby Hold On, Two Tickets To Paradise, Shakin', I Think I'm In Love, and Take Me Home Tonight. All of these songs are worth a listen.
My favorite Eddie Money song. He was a cop because his family were all cops! Towards the end of his life he formed a band with his kids and also was on TV
Great reaction! Eddie has a whole catalogue of hits. My personal favorite is "Shakin". Highly recommend reacting to the official video. Sadly he passed in 2019 from complications from cancer.
Nice selection, Robert- I remember this one! I saw Money open for .38 Special back in '88. He had a nice run in the 80's and cranked out quite a few hits. He put on a good show, too. Great reaction, Harri -- rest in peace, Mr. Money.
Eddie was a hit machine back in the day and has several great songs that got little to no radio play. I have a couple on my channel. Thanks for the reaction!✌
During my first year in the village, I knew someone with everything Eddie had done on cassette tape. He would loan me a tape to listen to during work and come over the next evening with a different tape for the next day. That was my introduction to Eddie Money. RIP Eddie, and RIP Michael. I hope that wherever you are, things are the way Stephen wrote, saying, if there's a heaven, "You Know They Got a Hell Of a Band."
This song got even more emotional for me after Eddie passed in September 2019. I remember hearing about it on the radio and thinking to myself damn I’m getting old. Eddie was part of my 80s experience. No doubt about it ❤😢. He is missed for sure.
Thanks Harri. Eddie Money had a bunch of great songs. His dad was a cop and wanted him to be a cop. I think he joined the force for a while, but had to chase his dreams. The song you mentioned "Take Me Home Tonight" is a banger. So are "Two Tickets To Paradise", "Shakin", "Baby Hold On To Me" and "I Think I'm In Love".
Eddie Money was Eddie Mahoney a former NYC cop and shortened his named from Mahoney to Money. He appears in an episode of King Of Queens with Kevin James performing his hit Shakin.
Thanks for doing this song. One of his lesser known hits but I'd argue the deepest lyrics of any that get to your emotions. Plus the wall of sound production has nuts for lack of a better term. Love seeing your take on music.
Never ever heard these words in the 80s. I do wish I could go back. I deal with today, but in my life, I keep the good things of the past, especially my music with me and tv shows.
the money man was HUGE in the day with a ton of top10 hits. not a one hit wonder whatsoever. one of his best - and my favorite - is one that got no radio airplay whatsoever. the song is 'looking through the eyes of a child' and should have been a smash. for those unfamiliar with it here is the link : ua-cam.com/video/XRG8TyzqDJ4/v-deo.html
Eddie Money had quite a few hits. Not familiar with this one though. Nice sound. My favorites are Two Tickets to Paradise and Take Me Home Tonight. Thanks Robert for referring this to Harri and thanks for the reaction Harri. 👏👏
Harri Eddie had a lot of hits but he also had many tremendous songs that were not released to radio because you can’t release them all to radio. Check out some deep dives like Lookin Through The Eyes of A Child, So Good To Be In Love Again, Let’s Be Lovers Again, Life For The Takin, Give Me Some Water, Million Dollar Girl, Trinidad, Save A Little Room, and The Wish
My girlfriend dated Eddie in 80's. He's got some great songs... "Two Tickets to Paradise" "BABY HOLD ON" "TAKE MME HOME TONIGHT" "SHAKIN'" "WE SHOULD BE SLEEPING".🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I was in my mid-20'a when this came out so I really couldn't relate to it. It was a groove, for sure, but the words didn't really hit me. Then, when I was in my 50's I heard it again for the first time in a long, long time and the words suddenly hit me like a thunderbolt. I'm in my 60's now and sometimes wish I could go back and do some things over. This song is so much more relatable to me now, but the groove is still amazing! Love the sax, which was very prevalent in a lot of 80's hits.
Robert - This submission takes me right back to the 80s when he was at his peak professionally. Two Tickets to Paradise (Live 1987) was my favorite and the one that caught my attention although this one is very entertaining. Well done Robert and Harri .
Hey Dave, I am so surprised that Harri doesn't know much about Eddie Money. I'll have to fire up some other tunes next month for Harri and all the Harri fans out there like yourself
Hey Harri! Love your channel! You gotta play the Raspberries "I Can Remember". I mean, no one's discussed this song and like wow! Back when that live version came out we were like WHAT THE HECK IS THIS STUFF?! All of us were in total silence throughout the entire song and then after it ended we just were like WOW! INCREDIBLE! No one had done anything like that at the time. So please . . . check it out! Especially the live in concert 1973 version! All the best! And thanks again!
I was able to see this live - my friend had tickets to this "Star Party", along with preview tickets to the first Batman movie. Eddie sounded great even though he used the venue's house band!
Harri, do me a favor and look up the song Cruel to be Kind by Nick Lowe. The video is awesome but it’s just a song that really brings out my 80’s side. Give it a listen and hopefully you might critique the song.
I miss everything about the eighties. As cheesy as that decade was, life was fun and unpredictable. I grew up quickly.
This is my favorite song from him. He had a few hits in the 80s.
Eddie was a good live performer..and had a solid career with many hits/semi hits...no shame having his career. RIP
Great song and great reaction, Harri! This song resonates with me more and more with every passing year. Rest in peace, Eddie Money.
Rest In Peace Eddy $. Thank you for your gift of music

One of my favorites. He's such a talent on Sax. Such a feel good song!
Eddie had a string of hits in the 80s with this song being one of his top hits
Eddie is far from a one hit wonder. Huge rabbit hole of music. He opened up a outdoor music venue here in Michigan, called Pine Knob, every Memorial Day weekend for 28 straight years. ❤
He sure did, I was able to experience it...
R.I.P Eddie

This will be fun! I grew up hearing Eddie Money on the radio and absolutely loving it. And your reactions are absolutely priceless!

Love this song ! One of my most favorite MTV videos from the day - Yes, Id love to go back 😊❤
Such a great roadtrip song. Blast it in the car and sing along. Thanks for this reaction!

"Walk On Water" was a great tune as well.
Eddie Money was Eddie Mahoney a former NYC cop and shortened his named from Mahoney to Money. He appears in an episode of King Of Queens with Kevin James performing his hit Shakin.
I've been waiting for someone to react to this classic. One of my all-time favorites. The ultimate reminiscing song!
I am not crying. It's the dust.
Love Eddie Money RIP
Thanks for doing this song. One of his lesser known hits but I'd argue the deepest lyrics of any that get to your emotions. Plus the wall of sound production has nuts for lack of a better term. Love seeing your take on music.
Two tickets to Paradise, his biggest hit
He really makes you want to go back
MY HOMEBOY FROM BROOKLYN NEW YORK. THE LATE GREAT EDDIE MONEY. LAYED IT DOWN HEAVY!!!
The Acoustic version of Save A Little Room....is my girl and mines song.
Harri, you must check out Eddie Money‘s rendition of Smokey Robinson’s hit song, You've Really Got a Hold On Me". As you would say it’s fantastic!!👍
Honestly first album I ever bought! Love Eddie he still is on my playlist
Never ever heard these words in the 80s. I do wish I could go back. I deal with today, but in my life, I keep the good things of the past, especially my music with me and tv shows.
"Take Me Home Tonight" is another good on my Eddie.

I agree! One of EM's best but unfortunately overlooked.
I used to listen to the Eddie Money No Control CD in my 64 nova in the eary 90s ..
Nice reaction, Harri. This, and "Take Me Home Tonight" are faves.

Definitely one of my favorites by him….. before his music career took off he was with the NYPD as a trainee…
Hari, Eddie had Big Hits with "Baby Hold On" and "Two Tickets to Paradise" and had a great duet with Ronnie Spector.
"Take Me Home Tonight" with Eddie Money and Ronnie Spector.
My girlfriend dated Eddie in 80's. He's got some great songs...
"Two Tickets to Paradise"
"BABY HOLD ON"
"TAKE MME HOME TONIGHT"
"SHAKIN'"
"WE SHOULD BE SLEEPING".🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Great song...❤
Next up is his biggest hit "Two Tickets to Paradise"
He was a former NYPD Police Officer...
Saw Eddie Money and REO Speedwagon on same bill. Great night of music. Not a one hit wonder.

You gotta react to Eddie's "Take Me Home Tonight". It's his signature song and an 80's classic.

@@theboehmshowroom2666 Go for it. That's always fun, really.
Forgot how mush I loved this song, gonna dust off that vinyl and give it a listen
Now please react to Think I’m in love
"Youth is wasted on the young". I didn't understand this phrase till now but now is to late to go back.

But first watch "Be My Baby" by the Ronettes, then "Take Me Home Tonight"
I met Eddie money once. I have a signed t shirt
I bet there are at least three more Eddie money songs that you probably know you just don't recognize.
It’s funny how many mention how Eddie had hits. Must’ve been US then, at least in the Netherlands he only hit the charts with “Take Me Home Tonight”.
Defineatly not a one hit wonder. He had many great songs. Try Trinadad next. You will love the slower pace.
A perfect "anthem" for us X-Boomers (born year one of Gen X). I would go back and the make the utmost of my education...
ths s my 1st time here to please do the song : Please dont make me cry by UB40 Im not sure if its an Original but I like the way they do it
Checkout the song with EDDIE AND RONNIE SPECTOR. CANT REMEMBER THE SONG NAME
Harri, do me a favor and look up the song Cruel to be Kind by Nick Lowe. The video is awesome but it’s just a song that really brings out my 80’s side. Give it a listen and hopefully you might critique the song.

Goes well w/
With my chips and salsa !?
Hardly a one hit wonder.
Inspired by God performed by Eddie Money
Definitely not a 1-hit wonder, my friend. Many hits and solid tunes that weren't.
