Great video. The battery was not "discharged". It was simply disabled for the transportation, as all manufacturers do (or, at least, they should). When you connect the charger, for the first time, the battery gets enabled. You can try to connect the charger, turn the laptop on and then disconnect the charger, when reviewing another laptop, with a built-in battery - it should boot to the OS and battery should have a decent amount of power, from the factory. If you wish you can disable built-in battery in the BIOS (e. g. before opening the laptop for maintenance). It will re-enable itself after you plug in the charger.

This was on sale during / after Black Friday for $960 with 16 GB RAM, 512 SSD, and 1920 x 1200 300 nits display. Really great deal.

I have been using ThinkPads for years now, but this time I got the 1165g7 based and it really got hot with fans kicking in frequently, and as the AMD version is still hard to find I ended up getting the EliteBook 835 G8 5850U for personal use. Really like it, good keyboard but missing the TrackPoint, good battery but with 16:9 aspect, but above all it runs much cooler and I can use it on my lap while I really high performance. In short as an alternative I can definitely recommend EliteBook. Now I await for X13 Gen 3 or maybe even Gen 4 to make next upgrade.

great and detailed video! And I'm wandering how much you cost to get this top version of AMD?

Man, that looks like a kick ass laptop. Did you end up benchmarking it? Right now, I'm using a custom built desktop replacement that's a couple of years old. It has an i7 7700k, 32GB RAM, a GTX 1070, two m2 slots and a SATA 3 drive. Problem is, I got it for static use because I don't have space for a desktop and I occasionally move it, but now I'm needing a machine that's easier to pack and with good battery life.
How did it hold up in terms of graphics? The CPU is an upgrade compared to mine, but my current GPU is probably still better?
