  • In this video i compare 2 different models of thinkpads, the 4th gen thinkpad x1 carbon and the 1st gen thinkpad X13. While they are different in terms of processor specs, since the x1 carbon is 4 years older in terms of the build and design they are still built for the same purpose today. Although, the newer models do have a different design compared to these. The part about high level executives is just some light hearted humor, and does not necessarily apply to every corporate environment. If you are a business who wants to purchase small business laptops for your employees i suggest going with the X13, since i think it still has decent build quality, and also wait for lenovo to have a sale. This video is not sponsored, and it is more opinion based rather than based on data regarding these models.

Good video. I like the focus on durability and bringing the old x series into the discussion. Still looking for a replacement to my x230 but don't like sealed battery, and how thin and dainty everything is now. Have an X1 carbon for work and am unimpressed by it. It's too apple; all show no go. x230 is a better design, just old now.

For my x230 I went with a battery from kingsener and I've personally had pretty good luck with it, but I've heard others having issues with theirs.

Nice how the social commentary is sprinkled throughout

Great Video! Quick Question: I’m thinking about buying the X13 Gen5, how’s the battery life? How long does it last when doing browsing/easy tasks?

I've seen people say 7-8 hours on ones with an Intel processor. The x13 slim can get much better battery life, but struggling with emulating x86 programs.

@@Duraputer there is a X13 slim? I didnt see it anywhere

@@azizinanc also called x13s. It seems like they are out of stock on the Lenovo website, but I saw a used one on eBay. Personally I would wait for getting something with that processor because there's not great software support for Windows or linux since it's not x86. It works with windows but some applications have issues form what I've heard. Although it would probably be fine for basic tasks, and battery life is incredible.

I really like the finish on the x13 you have. Is that a x13 gen1?

This might be a bit off topic. But what happened to the British man who narrated your earlier videos? His voice was badass.

It was an AI voice by Elevenlabs, as cools as the voice is, it's not me, and I need to practice my charisma and speaking skills anyways.
