I was confused at first why this always came at the top of letsplay searches for this, as I was looking to find someone to watch to understand the game after having it gifted - but man this is by far the most straightforward, compelling explanation and introduction - gonna sub just out of appreciation - all in all... it's truly stellar work! ;)
@@OmySpy I'm not kidding bro. I felt utterly lost and clueless the last time I played this game (its why I quit, regretted buying it, and never played it again) even after the supposedly extensive tutorial. I think it might be the vocal aspect. Because you were speaking words and explaining things in a natural manner, I "got it" but the in-game tutorial is just some bear-dude with a stick and a speech bubble. If you do a comprehensive "Beginner's Guide" series explaining everything as thoroughly as possible for each faction and element of the game I might actually play this game again. I'll subscribe in the meantime if you promise to look into the possibility.
i bought the game today, been wanting to buy it for 1 year, im seeing the videos while im downloading it. Thank you so much by not throwing bags of info while making it fun and relaxing to watch for new players!
Great video! The game is free to play this weekend on Steam so I thought to give it a try. The in-game tutorial is unfortunately not that great so thank you very much for explaining everything so clear, really appreciate it!
Thank you for checking out this video and series! If you are here because ES2 is available on Humble Bundle, or it is on sale on Steam, welcome! Whether you are deciding if you should pick this one up (yes!) or if you're trying to figure out how to get started, this is the place to be. Let me know in the comments if you have any questions about the game and I will try to help you out.
Got this game and loved how much depth there was, but man i got overwhelmed fast with how many numbers and things the game chucked my way. Thought id see if I could learn basics from youtube and found this video. Cant tell you how helpful this was and how much simpler it all seems. Excited to chuck myself back in!
Also the art. For me it was a big selling point when I bought Endless Legend, and I just finished dowloading ES2 on Steam as I'm typing this comment :D
Darn. I’m a few months late to the party but im glad to see an endless space video being uploaded. It feels as if this game has been forgotten. Thanks for keeping it alive! Subscribed.
Thanks Torvus! The party is still going. I agree with you, this game doesn't get the love it deserves. I'm glad to see there are other people who know what's up :)
Great first episode! As someone who just started creating LPs, I can really appreciate the work that went into the cool intro and other cool effects you added. Great commentary also! Looking forward to the next episodes.
I just totally discover endless space 2 yesterday with those species trailer and I was like "That look cool !" so I check out some info about it and I discover your channel, honestly it's clear, easily to understand and very chill, it's like asmr in space, love it X) Cheers mate ;)
The Empire is really, really good, having Influence pops and the ability to buy stuff with influence is powerful since influence never devalues unlike dust. Xeno-Industrial Infrastructure being their first tech is amazing too.
hey man, i have heard many youtubers explaining games and recording gameplays (most of them paid) with millions of followers, and in the first 5 minutes you got me hooked and excited about this game already. i knew this was authentic feeling of yours so and i had a feeling like this guy doesnt have many followers so i paused the video, and i saw how many subs you have. Dude you deserve millions of subs because you did a much better gameplay than most youtubers out there! i hope you make alot of $$$$$$
@@OmySpy Thank you dude! I'm especially grateful for this tidbit of info, since my impulse-buying ass almost spent the full 80 quid on the game and all DLC (apart from Awakening lmao). Great let's play so far man, thoroughly entertaining!
@@SeanstonVA I just had a hard time with my first game. I'll start again I think. Got spawned in the same constellation as the Cravers Hive, they declared war immediately and I wasn't prepared. Playing as the Vaulter I only had 3 systems at that point (they don't expand very quickly). So I switched to military asap. Destroyed their fleet and liberated my system that was under siege. Just to have the religious fanatics Vodyani find me and declare war on me because I'm . Meanwhile I had a peace treaty with the Lumerian but ofc she decided to backstab me because everyone else are ganking on me. The Cravers game back with double the ships and tech... So having to fight on three fronts and getting my minor civs stolen from me... I think I lost that one XD Sry for the wall of text.
So I thought Endless 1 was pretty fun, but 2 looks just way better - especially with the menus. Thanks for the tutorial and the cool footage, getting that game now. ;D
xeno industry takes 3 more turns, but on a typical temperate, fertile planet it yields +30 industry, compared to +10 for the clone thing. That's a huge difference. of course you do get +10 food, but still. In the three turns extra after you get with clones you will get +30 industry. You make that in 1-2 turns with xeno industry. Hmm, think I will map out xeno-> clones compared to clones->xeno.
Hey jeronez, thank you! I have older equipment so it is difficult for me to do 1080 and make it look good. If I am able to upgrade I definitely want to make the switch!
Hi Hunnah, there is a "Speed" setting which affects how quickly the game moves and the max number of turns. I believe the choices are 150, 300, 450, and 600 turns. Once you hit the turn limit a winner is determined by Score.
I only have the Vaulters and Lost Symphony, so I can't even use Behemoths yet, sorry! I will likely get Supremacy in the future and can go into them then, but for now you're going to have to explain them to me :D
You need to research a tier 2 tech to unlock them and only after the Behemoth global quest gets finished, after that you can build one more behemoth per 3 researched behemoth techs, after that you can mess around with them, the things can do everything from being doomsday weapons, absurdly good battleships, system shields/extreme modifiers on your FIDSI output or you can just use them to mine stuff from literally everywhere.
Little bit late. Pretty good series, judging by this first video. The dust isn't magical or mystical, it's actually mechanical. They're a bunch of nano-machines, if I remember correctly.
That's very fair. Just thought it would give you a different view on it's worth and such. The Endless franchise actually has a pretty cool and in depth lore.
Like, seriously, food, production, gold, science, and culture are even listed in the same order as their equivalent counterparts in this game. lol. I got it for a good price and I love Civ so I'm far from upset, but it's basically a palette swap.
I mean it is the same genre, I haven't played too many others of this type but I assume they all have similar resources. I feel like this is more engaging, and I like the combat here much better than in Civ.
