Endless Space 2 looks incredible. From the front end to the overall presentation and interface, it's all top notch and makes Stellaris look like it was created by an indie team with amateur designers and artists. I'm strickly talking about the visual elements and how information is presented.
As a color blind individual the colors are much much better. A couple are still a bit too similar but with 9 colors and the level of my colorblindness that is probably unavoidable. I appreciate the effort!
Very exciting! The main deal with the twin elliptical galaxy is that it splits the players in two halves, with an unclaimed constellation in the middle. I don't know how that applies when there are nine competitors, however. Last time I played this shape I was the Lumeris, and claiming the middle area while maintianing diplomatic relations with factions on either side got me some very powerful trade routes. As for the pirates, personally I don't think they're worth the effort now. The dust cost to maintain a relationship with them could be much better spent in the early game, and the actual advantages are minimal. They're not powerful or proximal enough at this stage to be worth using against other factions, and should they start harassing you they'll be easily crushed by a few decent ships. More worthwhile to get the system they're sitting on and maybe cultivate relations with a different base in the future.
Instead of paying pirates, I'd get another colony out asap and then accelerate it with dust. Then try an buy enough jadeonyx to start it off at lvl2. Paying pirates is rarely worth it imo. I'd only do it if they are right in between you and an AI. Even then you'd need to be rolling in dust to make it better than just killing them for the loot.

Hey SB, I'm pretty sure that you can get more information about your ships if you click the "Detailed stats" slider when you are making your ships. It should give you all the information that you were looking for about the ships when you first got Endless Space 2.
Hey! just starting your Return to endless pace play list. great so far. Question for you, my friend and I were doing play through against 4 AI and we didnt get another hero offered to us until after turn 50 on fast paced game play. I have no idea how to get new heroes. If someone finds the academy is that when we start earning? or is there something we have to do first? Is there a point in building an embassy if the academy is already found? :)
I have tried to love this game for years, but just can't get over the hump... its visuals remain the best of any, even years later. yet...there's just no compelling reason to plough through it 😞
Hi. I watched your vaulters series. I like your way of playing with one exception. Your indecisiveness. You come up with one plan then do another. Its very annoying for me to watch, being that the first plan mentioned is usually excellent. If you can, please stop doing it.

This game looks sooooooooo complicated but super super fun.
Xeno anthropology doesn't give an earlier expansion cap it is twice as powerful though. Most empires only get plus one there the UE get two
