I know the people of Maui will rebuild and bring things back. Hope your Banyon tree survives. Is it possible to collect some seeds off of it to grow some baby Banyons?

Matson’s barge Haleakala departed Honolulu Thursday afternoon with 160 containers bound for Kahului in Maui, where it is due Friday morning. Matson says they can keep that level of resupply going indefinitely.

We’re so grateful the banyan tree survived. It’s like God is protecting us from danger. So thank you God for protecting our banyan tree. We’re gonna work super hard to protect it. So lets do Hawaii. We got a tree rescue. We need 4,000 gallons of clean water, and fertilizer. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

The town will be rebuilt, life and commerce will return. It won't be quite the same, but that's OK. Life is change. Learn, adapt, grow, continue. Good times will return. And many opportunities will exist for people who are willing to work and contribute to the rebuilding.

These wood buildings are the reason this town went up in flames like kindling. Modern architecture is regulated to protect lives and property. That’s the only reason people build the way they do.

There was an incredible museum in Lahaina that housed artifacts which went back to the pre contact days before Captain Cook "discovered" the islands. There were also many pieces from the Whaling Days that were destroyed. The display area was not large, but many artifacts were kept in storage areas nearby. They are all gone now.

Amazing how building structures were decimated and vaporized, then you have green trees literally still standing untouched. This was intentional! Done under the cover of night like they did to Paradise, California and Northern California. It’s called Directed Energy Weapons.

@@fracturedfauve Actually you need to educate yourself. Go search for the starting of the canadian fires. They all started at the same time and you can see it on the videos. Care to explain th at? Maui's fire was moving like a freight train and causing fire cyclones that were 200 ft tall that moved up and down the street, incinerating everything in it's path. But you want to believe it is caused by a hurricane almost 1,000 miles away. smh

Narrow streets, back to back buildings with lax fire codes. Been there, had bad vibes. Stayed in Kihei eventually.
