This video should be at the very top of any KO II search, informative, well explained and most of all... you can jam my dude 👌 Definitely subbing to your channel for even more amazing content.
Know this: I’ve watched every video on this device, and nobody comes close to ripping back the cobwebs and clearing the path; you’re a true candle in the dark. Before this video, I spent hours not fully grasping the concept of scenes, now I know that they’re just a way to compartmentalize and organize which patterns play together.
It's been two weeks I'm owning the KO II and I'm very impressed. After one week I was good enough to make basic beats, had to look up some advanced stuff and fortunately, I've found your channel. Information is very concise and comprehensive, straight to the point. Can't wait to get my SP 404 mk2 and link both machines, it's gonna be 🔥
I am shocked that it doesn't come with something like that. The original KO had it, and chaining patterns is like a basic feature I would expect from any sampler... smh
Loving your vidz BKDTR, your teaching style and work flow are easy for me to follow and digest, I know very little about the art of making music but Im a huge music fan of all types, I have always loved sample based music and when I spotted the KO II on youtube I thought why not give it a go so I took a leap of faith and purchased one and I have found that the platform to be a lot of fun and I am slowly advancing in my limited skill set thanks to your youtube tutorials. This is just a thought but maybe in the future it would be awesome if you could put together a tutorial on finger drumming specifically on the KOII because the lay out is a bit different then your standard 4x4 layout, just a thought for some future content. Keep the KO II content coming and love your work! Thanks all the way from Sydney Australia.
The scene arrangement and geoup buttons remind me so much of the Yamaha SU 700 sequencer layout, the numerical LED display is similar too, I wonder if TE hired any of Yamaha's old groovebox people, Yamaha has seemed to only focus on synths now, but their old groovebox designers are well past their teens at this poont 😂🤷🏾♂️
Be great if there was an option in settings to either create an empty scene or a duplicate scene. And you can copy and paste patterns - but I haven’t explored this yet. Thanks for the workflow!
@fredicagoillanoise1309 wouldn't you have to qantize your bars again? if only one bar was playing, and now you have 4 bar pattern, quantizing for the extra empty space would be the way to go. Look up how to quantize on the manual. Cheers!
@@sarundayo I have no problem with the quantitize...Let's say you programmed a 4 bar drum loop and you want to extend that performance to 8,16,32 or 64 bars so you can go to another group and play some chopped samples atop of it. Hitting record and the plus key doesn't append the performance... It just add empty bars.
@fredicagoillanoise1309 Found your answer. Hold the shift+c pad to copy a bar, then press shift+d pad to paste said bar to a new empty bar. It only copies one bar at a time, so if the second bar has a different pattern, and you want to copy that as well, then you'd have to place the start of whatever bar at the beggining and then copy/paste from there.

Thank you buddy. Glad you appreciate the info. More to come.
Useful breakdown for sure, but they gotta give us a way to automate scene changes.
Ahhhhhhhh…. Yes!!! Excellent suggestion. 💯

Perhaps it will come in a future update?

Thanks bro. You can copy patterns tho.
👍👍👍
😍😍
How do I extend a pattern so that my drums would be 4 bars instead of 1?
Hold record and use plus ➕and minus ➖ to change bar length
@@creativecollection4357 I tried it. All it does is add blank bars to the pattern
