So glad to finally see TE move out of their “everything is 1-2k” phase.
im in sydney, the op1 field is $3000, these are gonna hit our shores at $549aud which really is pretty good, the sp404mk2 is about $700 and a digitakt is around $1600 so this is pretty damn good price wise
And out of their everything is microscopic phase.
@@KenithCopeland koala sampler just couple of bucks tho
@@TheChameleon2008 600 or 700 bucks if you factor in the price of an interface and an ipad.
Amazing for $300 and fantastic design, I just hope TE keeps this on the market for years
Legally blind here, so happy they’re making something that’s easy to read and memorize with tactile controls 💞
Hey, I didn't know you were into this kind of thing! Hello!~♪💛🤍💜🖤
SAAAAME
Love this for you. Awesome. Great memorable layout. Love the work they do
As a non native English speaker, that term ”legally blind“ always puzzles me, are there people for whom being blind is ilegal? how does that even work?
@@aoterou It basically means the government recognizes that your vision is extremely poor even with special glasses/eyewear. You can think of it as "effectively blind" as opposed to "total lack of vision," however there's not always a big difference.
When Jack has a deep love for a certain instrument or company, he is on the verge of giggling with delight at every button press. It's great, I'm the same way!!!
It looks vintage 80´s and futuristic at the same time!
Amazing. This box is a fever dream for original PO-33 users. I hope they made enough of them, these things are going to be flying out shelves.
Absolutely agree and they fixed the issue that Novation made with the Circuit /Rhythm in omitting a visual reference and chance to sample via onboard mic
@@lorrenaelliott161 True that all modern samplers should have onboard mic and polyphony which Circuit doesn't. However, the whole paradigm of Circuit is to do away with the screen, it's one of the main reason people love them and they've done a great job with clever use of color and encoders, you get quite sophisticated feedback. The whole TE paradigm when they include screens is to include a screen that's actually fun to look at, like a game - seems like it's expensive to design and build. This thing could easily cost 400 and people would still find it inexpensive I'm guessing.
@@nebula0697 The problem with the circuit was never the lack of screens, it's: the very limited track number; skitzofrenic knob functions; and complete lack of creative effects. This thing seems like it has the hearth of a volca sample with the po-33 fun and a really playable form factor. Id's say its biggest competitor is elektron's model:samples.
Not for me they wont. Waste of money to me. Get a deluge.
@@joeymc5272 deluge costs 5 times this thing including customs and taxes lol, also entirely different workflow
I went through the entire video 3x, read the guide in full, and tried to talk myself out of it. Purchased. Too good to pass up.
🤣🤣🤣
You don't even touch upon the fact that this can be a MIDI sequencer too.
The fact you assign any pad to a MIDI channel is great. The fact that the effects also effect the gear being sequenced is amazing!
This could be exactly what I'm looking for.
Did he say "retail at 299"? Seems there is a digit missing, considering this is TE ;-)
That’s actually not bad, I thought he meant 2999 at first 😅
All specs and prices are available at TE site/store , so yes it's 349eu/299usd :)
lol
Affordable ❤
Ikr
Love how TE have kept the same aesthetic as the more expensive gear. Jack lad you've done it again, love your excitability and passion. don't ever change !!!
Thank you, TE. The balance has been restored and all grievances have been forgotten.
I'm telling everyone right now...the sequencer is the real star of this show. Everyone going apeshit over the fact it's got the scatter/kaoss stuff in it but the fact the sequencer isn't locked to 4 or 8bbars and is more like an arranger workstation is...that's worth the price in this clip based ridged abstract song creation tools on hardware trends we are in now.
Just wait...you're gonna see some really interesting stuff made on this and the sequencer is going to be the reason.
I’ve watched a lot of product demonstrations in the past. This is the first Andertons video I’ve ever watched and also the first product demo that I’ve paused midway in order to buy the product. Well done you two. So much passion and humour. The best demo I’ve seen (and I’ve been watching Knobs and Jeremy for years).
lol. I did the exact same thing but on True Cuckoo's channel.
We are not alone 😂
U will regret this decision guys.
@@Judasz696 you know what ? Already regretted and delivery refused on the porch 😂 Thankfully all the « something » gates happened before it arrived. As someone said I’ll get one after their transition from teens to adults…
@@Judasz696 Not everyone regrets the things that you have regretted. Some people have individual thoughts and opinions. Mine arrived and is in perfect working order.
I think I finally found the groovebox I've been waiting for this whole time.
Now that is what everybody was hoping Akai would release as an MPC Live Mini
Can't finger drum on this!
Jacks reaction to the price has me in stitches lol
4min:55 that beat BANGS! Instant buy, I can see a new generation beat makers appearing with this! Well done Teenage Engineering.
Affordable fun. Well done TE - great job on this one. After the crazy pricing on previous gear this a big turn around product. Great success!
It's so crazy that this is more reasonable priced than their other equipment, but it makes sense I guess because they couldn't price it above the sp404 or MPC and expect to sell. I just knew it was gonna be more expensive than their synth, lol
A ton of them are defective. So many that they couldnt have not known, but sent them out to say to their share holders that filled the orders. They did the same thing with their mostly defective op-z's first run. I swear, that place must be run by teenagers. *smdh
@@jamesmadisonDC kinda of a rushed release like you say. I’m a MPC guy so don’t have a need for one. I appreciate their designs though and they look fun to mess around on.
TE absolutely smashed it with this device, holy cow. Hopefully they are still in stock next week. I have to have it
I have some samplers...but this thing i have to have..so much fun man
paypal paylater was made for these type of things my guy lol
Bought one three minutes into this video…
sold out already
Jack's enthusiasm is so infectious!
After a few years in the 'way out there with the crazies' usability/function v price equation, this is a return to form & smash it out the park product. Great stuff T.E.
This was an instabuy for me. Had my order in half way through the video.
Instant purchase. Only thing missing is to latch performance effects or allow resample internally to get the performance/punch in effects baked in.
Just got mine, love it, super solid build this whole fader thing is completely blown out of proportion. Line it up and push gently but firmly and viola done
There are whole batches it seems that are effected with dead faders.
Everything TE puts out just seems SO MUCH FUN, and they all sound cool AF. Don't know if I'd ever create something remotely as chill as you cooked up here, though...
Just keep going after the sounds you want; you'll get there bruv, just enjoy! The more time you spend on your gear, the closer you'll get to what you want. It's just like any other musical instrument.. practice, practice, practice and don't beat yourself up. Keep coming back. 👍
This is actually pretty good. Even the price tag is reasonable this time :)
Awesome demo! Many thanks guys, so much fun! 👍
I think you guys were the first to cover this, I was waiting before it was released, and your video popped up like minutes after, really cool
Finally a great alternative to the SP404 MK2
I love it! Don't know why I'm getting old 90s vibes from this device.
Guy in the hat is glazing like crazy 😭
This tutorial + Cuckoo's have totally sold me on getting this. Fantastic job! The enthusiasm and giddiness is absolutely infectious as well, subbed up let's go
Yeah this will pair perfectly with my 404 mrk2 especially for house Jams🙏🏾
@ 37:43 I'm crying because it's so accurate
Nice! Looks like you could balance your check book or do payroll as an added bonus.
The POs looked like pocket calculators, so it makes sense that the pro version looks like a desktop calculator. Chapeau TE
Add an MPC to print out the receipts and you’re set!
I'm so happy I got to see it being used for the first time through this channel
I bought it last week. It was a week of pure fun.... No computer needed just turn it on and have fun on work breaks, commercial breaks when watching TV even if you have to poo😆😆😆 Love it!!!!!!
"So, you hit 'play', and it plays music!" then react like 5:21 xD jk, just ordered mine! Can't wait to play with this!
I will definitely be grabbing one of these. Was just looking for something I could use for sampling, but also just wanted something that I could have fun with to give me some creative inspiration. This is exactly what I was looking for.
Love it!!!bought time on the pricing!!great job TE!
Awesomeness! My main gripe with several of my other samplers is no built in mic. This device looks easy to use and some other videos I saw backed up that it wasn't just looking and sounding good in one video. Would love more "smart" gear at this price point! Btw, this will be my first TE purchase.
Reminds me of this online DAW I used to use called Audiotool. It was one of the first daws I ever used and I loved how the visual interface for the ‘plugins’ looked. I’ve never seen a piece of real life gear capture that, had to cop
Yesssss! Audiotool rocked! I remember using it as well but not understanding most of it. Years later-once I'd learned about synthesis and music theory-I found it again and it all made sense. It was lots of fun and you're right, this does remind me of that.
Think I might pick one of these up as a pre-Christmas, er, Christmas treat. Superb video.
I swear I've always dreamed about a larger more power Pocket operator with the same workflow and this is finally here!!!
So excited!
This is already a game changer for sure!
Me too this is what I imagined in my head I want one i just bought the novation circuit rhythm two weeks ago cause it reminded me of a grown up version of the KO and this has just dropped and it's only £300 not op1 price territory
This has scenes too kinda like the novation circuit rhythm...I hope this has the same pattern changing function as the po ko33
@@leewightman8619 Right?! I hope it too..can't wait to grab one and even the price tag is unusually nice this time probably because they completely fail with their desk and choir s**t!
@@hellf.o crazy that a sampler with all the moving parts is ove four times cheaper than that desk ....I just paid £300 for the novation circuit rhythm a week ago wish this was on the market then all save up and get it after Xmas....
I feel kinda stupid for wanting it mostly because of how good it looks :)
Not stupid mate 😅
just in time for christmas kids!
Nah man this one actually looks like a value if you like samplers.

Daaaaaaamn, son! Take my money!!! What a beautiful piece of kit!
This thing is so damn cool. Even if you don't use it, you can put it on a stand and admire that machine for its looks
Looks really good. Super interesting to have a larger form factor device that doesn't cost a bundle. I hope they will create some other groovebox / synths in this form factor.
I hope they build a DJ mode in the next firmware update. That crossfader, it needs a DJ.
They have so much fun with this Thing - Amazing
Thorough and fun overview. Instant buy.
Absolutely love the look of this even before I have seen its abilities , I want one
I love the effects for Live Performance... this is sick!!!!
This demo makes me appreciate what a wizard Cuckoo is even more.
That last beat is a banger for sure 🔥
I order mine... Like if you order one! Thank you Teenage Engineering.... refreshing my email every 15 minutes till it arrives ...
Best one yet, so much fun, such a great box too. Happy Christmas to me I reckon.
That beat at 4:52 was sick, loved how it highlighted the effects capabilities as well there
that hip hop demo track SLAPPED lol
These will FLY off the shelf!
Order placed. Quickest purchase decision I've ever made. Can't wait and thank you for that fantastic demo!
Ha! Me too 🤣
Haha same :D

Same here 😂
God damn, that beat you kicked off with was on FIRE! 🔥
really nice device. but apart from that, the video editing keeps getting better and better. love this style, keep up the good work!
Can we just pause for a moment and think about everything this does... for only $300?
I'm old and would have >killed< to have this power for this price when I was younger.
Ugh I was going to get myself a Take 5 for Christmas but now I want this 🥴🥴🥴🥴🥴🥴
Sold out as expected. So cool.
The design is lit yo!!
It looks so awesome, like an 80's kid toy. I hate TE but I'll probably get this.
same here🤣
this machine so beautiful i could just starring at it for hours without event making music, but if you make music with is it like heaven
Now the Microtonic in this Size XD
damn, that beat at 5:10.. I m sold. I already love the original but always wished it had midi.
The K.O II Looks so good
The volca sampler of my dreams has finally arrived 😊
Great video. What a wonderful performance machine.
what a wonderful piece of gear! :D
This was so wholesome to watch 🥹
At the start of today I would never imagine I would end up with this machine by the end of the day as I never knew it existed . ...I have the po33 and this is a must buy at this price...
Same 😂
it's a thing of beauty. Nes, star wars, pixel 2xl vibes ♥
Ordered one from you guys, cannot wait, like all TE things... it's just such good fun!!
I was so close to buying an SP404mk2 today but something about the combination of current lack of availability at lower price and a workflow that, despite watching plenty of videos in recent months, still isn't looking intuitive to me, I decided to wait a little. And then *boom* this suddenly popped up. So far, it is ticking all the boxes.... SO I bought it and actually saved a few quid over the SP. And unlike the SP, I can see myself having a lot of fun with this and not getting a headache over too many button press combos and menu dives - this seems considerably more intuitive. I also feel like it does all the main bits that the OP1-Field does that I want, without the others that I'm less interested in because I already have other devices covering those aspects. Yay! Am Excite!
you will have more fun with this ..trust me
@@hakeemthecryptkeeperI reckon I will, more worried about ergonomics and durability than anything.
the price is almost unimaginable from TE - I might give it a try
It means only one - this is a piece of garbage for this money.
It's already sold out, this seems like a Black Friday 90% off sale price. And it'll be $1999 when it's back in stock. They sell a silly pocket mixer for $1299, the price of this makes no sense to me lol.
IM SO GLAD YOU FREAKED OUT THE SAME WAY I WAS DAMN
This vid made me buy one cheers fellas!
It got me at "chords". I already bought it at that point :))
I was in the market for a pocket sampler and this one is iT!!!!!!!!!
Its awesome… really wanna get one!!!
64 mb !!! That's 1000x more than the 64 kb on my ensoniq mirage sampler ! I guess it's time to finally upgrade, from under my stone.
299, finally TE is playing in the right league. i do not know why OP-1 is so expensive, when this is much more fun and seems to be much more capable for proper production. :D Anyway, nice toy, well done!
I agree OP-1 is WAY overpriced. I see why it cost more than this though. It has synths and you can use the tape deck to put together an entire song are a couple of t
@@aariccallahan7371 the truth is shipping an electronic hardware product is one of the hardest things you can do in business, whether you're a giant like Nintendo or a pipsqueak like T.E. you need a lot of startup capital, it's a ton of time and work, and if your product doesn't sell you could lose an absurd amount of money or even go belly up. it's why Panic's Playdate console is $200 for what is essentially a gameboy with a grayscale Memory LCD (it's still cool imo.) they're a 25-person software company, they don't have the economies of scale to play in the consumer-priced electronic goods market with the giants. it's high stakes for them.
with hardware you have to play the top of market until you get a strong enough footing to start playing in the realm of actually affordable stuff, where you need to move a lot of units. i think T.E. has been essentially playing the long game, slowly building up their "strength" by selling to the top of the market at low scale with a giant profit margin, and this is their first real gamble on selling to the regular consumer market. i think they are going to succeed because their stuff is really cool, it's just ridiculously expensive. people like me have wanted TE shit for awhile but never been able to justify it, besides the P.O. 33 - $300 is a very fair price for this imo.
hopefully this is the start of them coming out with more mid-market stuff, the type of stuff that actual musicians who aren't already rich and famous can afford. i have enough money to buy an OP-1 and i still just can't justify it. it's so expensive, and for...what? at the end of the day it's a music tool, but it's an opinionated multi-tasker that puts you in its little limited world - which makes it more of a music toy or plaything, to make stuff within its little ecosystem. that's cool and all, but i'm not paying 2000 damn dollars for that, when all the tools for me to really seriously pursue my art form are significantly cheaper. it's a toy for rich kids and musicians that are already successful. if you really need to lay down keys on a production, are you going to reach for the $2000 machine with two octaves of toy keys? when you can spend $500 to get a full 88-key midi keyboard with real hammer action that feels like a piano? the EP-133 is one of the first ones that actually makes sense to me beyond "once i'm a millionaire i'll get the Lamborghini Urus, then after that, i'll get the OP-1..."
wonderful demo, great device, great price
The colours used are cool... very old skool MPC/OLD PC vibe... love it.
I think the size and thinnest of it makes a such a very good travelling sampler.
None of MPC samplers are portable like this and thankfully this is one of teenage angering's value devices.
I could have seen them easily making this 1K... is crazy the smaller thing next to it is 2K lol.
Imagine if they did this with a bunch of others from the pocket range.
These would make such a good live setup that could equally be done randomly in a park or on a beach.
5 things in the same format as thing could come with a bag dividing them all with padding and it still be a quite small setup... maybe if they make a mini speaker version of their portable speaker???
Love this. A Volca like series of these would be amazing!
It's not made by Korg tho?
Very tempting. I need to expand projects because my Keystep Pro is full and the software to save requires a computer. 9 projects on this isn't enough but there's probably a way to save those. I don't see a card slot. Scenes and 4 tracks resemble KSP. Would be nice to have a good sampler like this. Great demo, TY!
Jack just living the dream. Love Andertons reviews and what a treat this is! Im am properly pumped for this!
Perfect for the OP-1 Field! You could live sample and compose on the spot. Especially since you can't quantize or anything on their most expensive product. For some reason.
okay i need this one rn
