Pemican was used by the indigenous people of North America. It was animal fat and meat mashed together with berries. It is then dried like jerky.
It was a major survival food for fur traders exploring North America.
If kept dry, pemican can last for years.
Im 30 hours in to this atm. Great game so far. It will be the next Valheim if it gets enough attention. It has those elements. Having a purpose, boss fights and great progression that's missing from most open world survival/crafting games. The very thing that made VH a success.
Also, you will get a lot of scrolls for all the attributes, except for health. Use your levels for those!
Loot from shipwreck popped up in upper middle of screen just like the trees. You got planks, rope, and xp
Flotsam is stuff floating in the water, flot = float. You got 14 planks, 2 ropes and 15 xp by destroying the shipwreck.
It looks like there is an auto loot function working because it lists in the middle of the screen that you got plank, rope and XP when the ship was destroyed.

Flotsam is floating debris, or anything floating around in the water. Like that barrel or chest to the left of your salt water barrel.

This is not a survival game. Its a RPG with survival-lite elements.

Definitely a weird looking game. The mechanics are just so different. I think it would take some getting used to.

My man invoking mobile games over here 😅 Energy and stamina are the same thing. The only difference between that mechanic in this game and most RPGs is passive stamina regen. Some RPGs will have passive regen locked behind skills or perks. I do know that a lot of those games also have stamina regen items as well, which can be largely ignored. Makes me wonder if a lot of them are starting out with no passive regen and decide to add it later

Looks like a very incomplete game, wouldn't spend a dime on it till more has been fix/updated.

UA-cam is cyclical. Yesterday we got life simulators, today we get our fill of survival games, tomorrow we will get village builders, then next will be clicker games. Back to Life simulators
