I have lost tons of weight when I was younger with a keto diet. It was more paleo. I’ve tried it again in my 40s and I gained weight and depression. Now I’m losing weight and cellulite by eating tons of fruit. It’s so strange but I’m feeling great! I eat a healthy diet of veggies and I eat free range meats and I still eat cheese and grains. I basically eat what I want as usual but I incorporated huge varieties of fruit including lots of non sweet ones like avocado tomatoes cucumber and olives. I eat nuts too. Well I’m feeling so much more energy and happiness! I’m losing weight and my skin is noticeably healthier plus my cellulite is vanishing! I ate half a watermelon with peanut butter on celery for lunch and felt amazing! We’re all different and we’re always changing. Listen to your inner being. We create our reality from within. 😉😉 I always wanted to eat lots of fruit but I was told that too much was unhealthy due to the sugar content. This is definitely not the case for me! The beautiful aliveness of all these bright colorful delicious foods are bringing my health back! ❤️❤️❤️

When I got hypoglycemia and complete exhaustion 65 years ago when I was 17, Epstein Barr disease hadn't been known yet and doctors couldn't help me, I read Adelle Davis and followed her program. I ate beef liver smothered with cheese, onions, tomatoes and steamed veggies for breakfast, lunch was homemade yogurt with blackstrap molasses, and dinner was a big salad with a small portion of protein. In 3 weeks I had lost the 15 lbs. I had gained from my illness. My skin cleared up to beautiful, the breakouts and bloat gone, and my energy all came back

Anything with Lectins. Any kind of bread on the store shelf. Corn. Tomato skin. Processed foods. Fructose and sugar. Anything that isn't organic really. Make your own whole-food meals. Eat carnivore or keto. Instead eat more steamed cruciferous vegtables. Organic meats. If fish must be wild-caught. You need to get away from sugar, fructose, and proccesed foods. And you need to grow a healthier gut biome which will take a while if you've damaged it badly over the years from sugar and junk food. Would take about one year alone to start reversing diabetic damage via a real healthy diet.

Haha Lewis, why do you hate apple cider vinegar? Here in Slovenia, we put it on salads every day :). But I do agree that apple vinegar made from solely apple juice is much more spiky, sour and less good, than the vinegar that's being made out cut apple chunks (much more flavor).

I totally agree. Saturated fats are lethal. Every time I would consume Extra Virgin Coconut Oil I got palpitations. Not only that but my sugar would go up in the 200s and 300s. I never understood that until I decided to remove the coconut oil and use Extra Virgin Olive Oil and the difference was like day and night. Sugars started to normalize to the point where numbers started to normalize and I was shocked. I will never ever eat those fats again.
He is advocating only one way of eating. It’s not about the lectin / gluten itself but how much the wheat has hybridized over generations. Ethnic cultures have incorporated ways of processing legumes to remove or minimize phytic acid and lectins.
Yes! Very easy to avoid lectins by proper preparation. And, potatoes (starches) are good for you. He is a MD, they have like 2 hours of nutrition courses supposably. He's got some good points but other info is definitely outdated and debunked already. I am an ND, Ph.D in nutritional science.
I have high blood pressure..thyroid issues...will not take medicine change my diet and straight away its fixed...I really think diet can cure all illnessess
honestly, being a fitness nutritionist… it’s so simple: use mono ingredient foods that metabolize relatively quickly without leaving the waste in the gut + at least a gallon of water ( preferably 2 gallons) a day. Done. that’s your ultimate health. stay away from processed food and untreated gluten. ( gluten breaks down with hydrolysis, thermolysis and mechanical processing - waffles for example) but I personally try to stay away from it as much as possible anyway. Stay away from hard greens like broccoli, cabbage, bell pepper, legumes, beans, soy, lentil, meats, fish. ( I’m being high level here. of course there’s more detail and I could tell tons more) Stay away from aggressive ultra fast sugars, especially the ones mixed with water. stay away from fast food. Exactly! Many blue zone people moving to the western countries develop illnesses never seen or rare in their native land. Eating whole foods un processed and in seasons, such as what the traditional indigenous did, is the correct way of nutrition. The Americas have always had starches (potatoes) in their diets for hundreds of yrs. It's an excellent food not to be removed for one's diet.
We use to eat out of the forest and the sea. Made gardens with what use call sweet potatoes, potatoes (some have them scratching their European heads now as some came from S America) greens. Didn’t have cows or sheep or goats or horses ate mainly native birds on land. Sugar & processed foods are killing our ppl and on other islands colonised.

wow!!! so wrong about saturated fat. Animal fats are great for fat burning but when you eat carbs with the fats and eat the wrong fats like all seed oils then of course you won't loose weight. building mussel and getting leaner on Carnivore and yes it takes time to feel great but it also took a very long time for all the medical issues to effect us and why would go back to eating the same food that caused the leaky gut and the other health problems once you found that taking away those foods helped you to get better. Can't make since of that and sounds very wrong. If those foods are making you sick then quite eating them. Carbs have zero use in the human body. body builders on Carnivore don't need them. Just remember that Sugar is the supper Enemy and there are plenty of hidden sugars in natural food.
I think you oversimplify things in keto style, defending it, while they are much more subtle than the way you ( and others) are seeing them. You don't know enough till you know everything in nutrition science. Which science is still doing its research and studies and has a lot to discover yet...
My late great-grand-mother from the late 18th century, always suggested that anyone in her family, and others who wanted to participate, not to eat tomatoes that are not peeled or de-seeded...

Yes and all the doctors who are jamming type 2 diabetics with insulin which only worsens the problem are absolutely following science when telling their patients to eat nothing but grains. Not only are there studies that support the claims of IF benefits but also the studies that "disprove" it are poorly elaborated and have flawed premises. So keep going thinking like that and don't enjoy the benefits, just keep feeding the pharmaceuticals in sickness instead of preventing it wtih healthy habits.
so it seems that keto is for the young and as we get older we need to eat way more plants . also keto is good for fat people to lose weight but once the weight loss stops hit the plants. This what i'm understanding. how far off am I? Keto has been good to me, some of the stuff said here I don't like to hear but if it's true it needs to be explored. He sure seems convincing and knowledgeable. Can someone sum up what are the best foods? Don't have time unfortunately

Like here, and in other interviews, the doctor sometimes says to consume High-Fiber Foods, then he says don't eat whole grains, don't eat lentils, don't eat beans, etc - but you can find the Top 10 High-Fiber Foods as:
Beans/ Lentils and other beans are an easy way to sneak fiber into your diet in soups, stews and salads/ Broccoli. This veggie can get pigeonholed as the fiber vegetable/ Berries. / Avocados/ Whole Grains/ Apples/ Dried Fruits.
Haha Lewis, why do you hate apple cider vinegar? Here in Slovenia, we put it on salads every day :). But I do agree that apple vinegar made from solely apple juice is much more spiky, sour and less good, than the vinegar that's being made out cut apple chunks (much more flavor).
😊 Hey Lewis, you're doing *really* well and the way you are speaking with a slight smile is absolutely perfect here 😊
Thank you!
this is a long episode. sounds great too! but can anyone just give me a quick rundown of what this doctor proposes we eat to avoid these issues? i am a 24 year old athlete and i feel lethargic sometimes and want more energy. maybe just some breakfast, lunch, & dinner options? thanks :)
Its hard to put it in a nut shell. Lol. So .. What have you done to experiment with your diet so far. And what effect did it have? What is your current diet like?
Does pressure cooking work for getting rid of the lectins including gluten in everything or only beans rice
exceptional video, thank you Dr Gundry, thanks Lewis keep up the good work

Information on diabetes. Im doing everything i can think of and my sugar is high.
Be great if you had time stamps
Love this conversation with Dr Gundry.. great job 😎
Appreciate you and your support🧡
one question, when decoupled, what happens to the mitochondria in the brown fat??
they must turn off too, this would explain why I feel cold when losing weight.
I just tried today to do 24/1hour 200 cal diet
I SO GLAD THIS POPPED UP OUT OF NOWHERE
back to the drawing board
🙌
I gave up keto. It wasn’t working for me along with going through menopause.
Okay i am old not yet 80 but i have followed Dr Grundy & i am a total believe & take his powders & supplements. I have lost from 110 lbs to 89 lbs. weight loss was not my goal; however i am off ALL perscriptions, no back pain, arthritis & have really been a new person! HOWEVER my now problem is having poop difficulties…i really need help pls help & address this as a result of eating fibers …eating plants! U dont adress this problem??????
I totally agree. Saturated fats are lethal. Every time I would consume Extra Virgin Coconut Oil I got palpitations. Not only that but my sugar would go up in the 200s and 300s. I never understood that until I decided to remove the coconut oil and use Extra Virgin Olive Oil and the difference was like day and night. Sugars started to normalize to the point where numbers started to normalize and I was shocked. I will never ever eat those fats again.
So fascinating! Thanks to both of you! Loved it!!
🧡
( I’m being high level here. of course there’s more detail and I could tell tons more)
Stay away from aggressive ultra fast sugars, especially the ones mixed with water.
stay away from fast food.
I have been a vegetarian for 20 years and I haven’t aged at all, Zero aging.
Anyways, feel free to ask questions)
What are some food that I can eat that are healthy
Why broccoli and bell pepper?
why no broccoli?
@@imaniprescod5557 russian style low fat cottage cheese ( unsalted, unsweetened), Low fat greek yogurt, apple, banana, rice, potato, grapes, pear, berries, watermelon, nuts ( small quantities- 50 grams per day top) pure water, sometimes you can have fat free or reduced fat cheese, you can have a tiny ice cream ( I personally eat a sneakers ice cream ( 48 grams), sushi, small cappuccino (200 ml) ( I drink 2 a day) , sometimes a small milk chocolate, some other sweets but again, small quantities ( don’t go for a regular size bar, go for a small one ( 15-30 g)
@@kalo0806 because it’s very fibrous ( a lot of fiber) and this causes bloating, gas, slows down your digestion because it’s difficult to break down in your gut. Try throwing a bell pepper onto a bowl of water and leave it there for a month. come back a month later - it will still be there, intact. Very fibrous, tough to digest
Why do u not name the foods we shouldn't eat?
Its not what you eat... Its whats eating YOU !!!

Intermittent Fasting is excellent as well
Thank you so much for sharing this!
You're welcome,thank you for being here 🧡
How do we know if we have leaky gut …..?
It’s very frustrating seems like can’t eat nothing ,
isnt there studies that show lean muscle mass increases after fasting?
Dr.Sebi and his oxygenated, alkaline food list is the best food to give our bodies..
Please can you translate this important healthy information to Arabic. Thank you
How can Wheat and Corn be sprayed with Round Up? That would kill the plant. May want to clarify that.
Easy. That wheat and corn is also genetically modified to resist Round Up .
Thats why I felt bad on keto but perfect on lion diet
Lion 14 mos here, totally agree! 💖
HOLA, SON EXCELENTES LOS VIDEOS TRADUCUIDOS AL ESPAÑOL DE ESTE DR Y CIENTIFICO. pOR FAVOR DILE QUE PONGA UNA TRADUCCION AL ESPAÑOL. SOY DE ARGENTINA Y NO MANEJO EL INGLES TODAVIA
Fasting seems to be the answer to all the health problems.
Which is taking in less calories there is no science on intervals being any different than less calories, you don’t eat you loose weight, call it what you want.
That’s why us Muslims fast a whole month in Ramadan.
All religions have a fasting period
Interesting, around 1:10, why the French aren't dead eating 8 times the butter as Americans...the European style butter is fermented and has amazing taste.
Also is the lectin in American cows milk A1?
Thanks I’m having stomach aches and I didn’t even eat anything.
My brain functions absolutely high peak when I’m in ketosis -I just worry about injecting all g to be extra fat
Wow, just wow. I am convinced. Cheese did it :) and olive oil. Now gotta get that book ..
What a great video
Glad you enjoyed it!
Lewis: "What does it mean when it says 'gluten free oats'?" Gundry: Run!" 🙌
😊
I have read that it just means it was guaranteed made in a gluten free factory.
Plant paradox beam
Aluloace ?
Pistachios
No keto program
Goat and sheep milk and cheese
Thank you
I was hoping for this!
Allulose
I'm totally aboard with goats cheese!
There is a cheese in Italy that is aged and fermented and contains maggots. Casu martzu. Guess where? Sardinia. What animal? Sheep. Putrid? You betcha.
Some wisdom here, however, many astute doctors, biologists, and neuroscientists shy away from categorizing foods as either helpful and harmful. The future of nutrition and medicine is highly individualized. What's great for my microbiology may be harmful for yours and so on.
Lewis you 🎸 rock!!!
Thank you!
What kind of bread , is good ,and butter , .
French or European butter, bread can’t have gluten or wheat in it so if it’s made with almond flour, coconut flour , masa a flour it’s good to go. He makes his own bread mix you can buy on his website too and it’s really good
Basically any butter that’s not made from American cows
Positive ANA does NOT mean you have Lupus. Lots of ppl have positive ANA and do not have Lupus.
Anybody can summarize his point?
Yes, you have to stop taking shortcuts and trying to get quick gratification with no effort. I think you need to watch the video. Enjoy
Lewis, your questions are so intelligent! I've learned so much from you and your videos. I've lost weight when I thought it was a lost cause and I could never figure out HOW can I loose it??? But YOU and your videos helped me! I appreciate you. I wish I could marry you 😆 lol

Not every day u can hear bad thing on tomatoes, damn
The tomato skin and seeds are what contains the lectins. Skin the tomato, spit the seeds, and problem solved.
Good thing om immune to that stuff!!
Interesting. I’m indigenous we had colonialism and told also forced into their food. So called a first world country, but indigenous die still 10-30 years earlier, than ones in rural untouched area of the country
Sugar & processed foods are killing our ppl and on other islands colonised.
i am nearly 70 and have been in peak shape all my life,, regardless of diet,, however after coming fromEngland 45 years ago i have suffered from skin cancer , which has been operated on twice,, some days i wake up soaked in blood,, i try to keep ahealthy diet now,,,can anyone help to fix this,, its on my shoulder,, i worked in the sun a lot when i first arrived,,, theres got to be a solution,,,
Perhaps try a carnivore diet higher fat, moderate protein listen to Dr.Ken Berry or many other dr’s doing carnivore it is the ultimate illumination diet then you slowly add in foods and see what foods are causing you illness😁
I almost went bald on the Plant Paradox. Not enough protein.
Add milk cheese...no meat though..best diet
@@ango586 nope. I’ve gone full carnivore. Did PP for almost 2 years and it almost turned me into an old woman. Menopause, hair loss. Currently reversing that.

What a load of bollox you talk.
Makes no sense. None.
@@IndigoAwakener plants with fruits and vegetables are alive. Dead food meat and GMOs....it make sense now
Goat yoghurt delicious
wow!!! so wrong about saturated fat.
Mine too!
Bro thats because of the antedeluvian annunaki shrank our brains and DNA..

Lewis Howes, you do need to come to France to see for yourself that.the myth of the slim French is long gone...unfortunately. And I am really sorry to destroy your preconceived ideas about the so-called "Mediterenean Diet" ... it does not exist any longer!
The French are no longer slim and in France the American diet has taken over.
I invite you gladly to my house for a couple of days and you will understand... apart from that, love your school of greatness!
Pressure cocked beans looses its value.
Surely this advice makes the 'traditional' ketogenic diet very difficult to follow...
I am sorry but this person's view is not confirmed by science.
Is roundup in most of our food supply confirmed by "science" because it is good for human consumption? Do you think MDs are not scientists?
His health alone is enough proof without science approval lol He was actually a heart surgeon. I’m not sure if you already knew? 🙃
I've been lean and active my whole life. Been having stomach issue's for a few years that got worse this year of travelling cross country. I started eating about a 75% Gundry diet, and changes took place within a week. Quality of life/fear has been greatly improved
So keep going thinking like that and don't enjoy the benefits, just keep feeding the pharmaceuticals in sickness instead of preventing it wtih healthy habits.
jajajajajajaja puede ser que si
so it seems that keto is for the young and as we get older we need to eat way more plants .
also keto is good for fat people to lose weight but once the weight loss stops hit the plants.
This what i'm understanding. how far off am I?
Keto has been good to me, some of the stuff said here I don't like to hear but if it's true it needs to be explored.
He sure seems convincing and knowledgeable.
I just started to explore apple cider vinegar, on day two, I mix 1 tablespoon with water in the morning, 1 tblsp mixed with tea before bed. we will see how it goes. i could write forever so let me end here.
I hate reading long post.
He talks so very slow, boring..........!!
