This whole album is one of the greatest albums of all time and I've been listening to it since I was eighteen I'm now sixtysix and this got me through so very dark times it's great to see you guys enjoying it so much I know how you feel
Hey guys, Philippe here. Thank you so much for your reaction, I knew you would like it! I so envy you for hearing it for the first time! I will probably watch this reaction a few times or a few dozen times! Love you!
Merci, Philippe. J'ai seize ans quand I heard this song the first time. Yes, it still lingers in my head. As for your handle name, it reminds me of a section of Rush's Fountain of Lamneth. Please have a listen. Oui, je suis bilingue et Canadien.
Oh we were so lucky to have this music to grow up with...so cool you guys get to hear it for the first time. I was 15 when I first heard this in 1977 and I'd had a bit of a puff...😄 volume cranked up with headphones, omg! The entire album is a masterpiece of sound and wisdom.
I was a teenager in the 70s , Supertramp has always been my favorite band still is today at the age of 62 , I have the word Supertramp tattooed cross my entire collar bone !
Great song, great album. Written by Roger Hodgson when he was a teenager about his experience of public school (which in the UK is a private school, go figure!!)
It is really hard to explain to anyone today how absolutely, extremely, utterly, mind boggling popular this album was in Canada. Crime of the Century sold 1 million copies when the population of the country was around 20 million. This means that roughly 1 out of 5 households had a copy of the record.
Like a lot of you old timer Canadians, I was introduced to Supertramp as a teen working in McD's, in the late 70's. I bought their Breakfast in America album followed by this album. They were extremely popular i Canada in the 70s. Summer concert scheduled include Supertramp, ELO, Meatloaf, Styx, Van Halen, Foreigner, Alice Cooper, Police
First heard Supertramp in 1976, this album actually, blew my mind...

One of my favourite songs from Supertramp, along with Rudy, Take the Long Way Home and Dreamer... not forgetting The Logical Song and Fool's Overture... they were one of the biggest bands in their times and I don't think there is any other band that took their legacy... they were unique. By the way, check the lyrics... there's a lot of message as well...
Saw Supertramp 4 times in the 70s.Brilliant live. Went to high school with John Helliwell's cousin in Toronto. She played French Horn, and l played violin. Enjoy the Supertramp journey. Time for YES and Heart Of The Sunrise ✨️🎶✨️
Welcome back ! Where have you guys been ? Great reaction as usual...........this band is known for it's great vocals between Roger Hodgson and Rick Davies, but the BAND is brilliant and second to none ,they even venture very close to Prog .
Great Song from a phenomenal album! Crime Of The Century was a huge #1 album here in Canada 🇨🇦 in 1974. Saw them live here in Canada in 1974 and 1979. Incredible band!! ❤
An extraordinary song, and a seminal album. I think the production on this is extraordinary...every instrument is clear, you can hear every cymbal tap. And I think bassist Dougie Thomson is an unsung hero, nulice lean bass lines, not too fussy and with a lovely sliding technique. This album was a stepping stone for me as a kid to transition to listening to pop music to something more interesting.
Back in the 70's there were stereo shops all over the place. Each usually had a high end listening room that had the biggest amps, the most precise turntables, and the best speakers. Guaranteed this LP was in every one of those listening rooms.
Well done , thanks to react to this hit.Crime of The Century is the best Supertramp àlbum . It's a GEM for all the músic lovers and collectors. I've seen them several times in Barcelona and they were a great musicians and such professionals on stage. All the live performance starts and finish with the school harmònica solo. Keep on rocking guys ❤❤ Greetings from Barcelona
My first *Supertramp* experience - 15K seat sports arena that only sold 12 tickets in total. Seriously, I was one of the twelve - the *most professional band* hands-down! They performed entire set-list and encored us with six unreleased songs from their next album *Breakfast in America* . Oh, did I mention there were only 12 of us in attendance? Their live arena rock concerts are of studio quality sound too.
Memories of a misspent youth going to London every other weekend to see the likes of Supertramp, Genesis, Focus, Rick Wakeman, Pink Floyd etc etc. or going to the County ground in Northampton (anybody?) to see up and coming bands like AC DC, Sailor etc…I don’t regret a minute.
Same, but from our Canadian West Coast. Now thinking back - at the time I never thought we're experiencing raw genius talent; or that someday Auto-Tune would replace those creative 70s 80s style musicians / bands.
Produced by Ken Scott who was an engineer for the Beatles at abbey Road. The production and the engineering alone for this masterpiece is incredible, never mind the amazing musicians and the songwriting of Hodgeson and Davies. 10 of 10. If you really enjoyed that I’d recommend the track Rudy, from the same album. It’s like School at another level.
When I bought this album when it first came out I bought it cause of the album cover as I did a lot in the 60-70. Great art work on albums back then. CDs ruined it when they came about. One of the most underrated bands of the 70s. Lots of great songs and l love the baby grand piano.
I've commented several times on Supertramp and you have your first taste of intellectual musical genius. You can see on other videos what the intent of Rodger Hodgson was when he wrote this song. Even the picture on the cover of the entire universe (of possibilities) in the background, you see the cell window and two hands grasping at the bars to get out. The entire album is a brilliant concept, as is their next album 'Crisis, what crisis?'. Check out the song 'The Meaning' on that album. Deep stuff. Saw them twice in concert. Unforgettable. Peace!
It was such an unconventional album opener, in the best of ways. I can remember when ABC's "Wide World of Sports" used the instrumental break of this track as part of it's program.
This is why I fell in love with prog-rock as well. My introduction to this song came while working the midnight shift at a 7-11 back in the day when FM radio was about playing album cuts. At 3 AM in the morning with no one keeping me company except a flashing traffic light this song along with a number of other progressive rock songs always hit so strong.
I saw the group live in 2010, i was 3rd central row, so very well placed... :) A great concert, and above all the saxo/trumpet/clarinet.. player John Helliwell was funny, charming, and entertained the whole concert. I still have the usb key of the live they sold after the show. great memory!!!
Best album by Supertramp. The first time I saw them in Detroit at a small venue (Ford Auditorium) Reo Speedwagon, Heart and Supertramp who played this whole album for $2.00 1975?
Asylum off this album can not truly be explained how outstanding the song and the whole album was when first hearing it back on the mid 70’s… awe inspiring!
You guys did my heart good .. Been abit since Ive heard this tune. One of my favorite Groups. Had the Pleasure of seeing them twice, once as they were just becoming known, and again 10-12 yrs later. Their performances live were as good, if not better than their studio productions. Thanks Wolf Hunterz for a genuinely pleasing reaction. You didnt have to say a word .. Thank you Phillippe.
Entire recording is classic and never gets old. Try the title track, "Crime of the Century." It's an iconic piece that is fresh and well revered 50 years later. It's that good!
I was introduced to this in 1976 when I started getting into real rock and progressive rock at 13. Always loved this and Child Of Vision, Crime Of The Century. Mix this in with Yes, Jethro Tull, Pink Floyd and Electric Light Orchestra at that time shaped my music.
This is from THE Supertramp album. They were progressive until they caved to commercial pressure. After the 70's, they sort of "fizzled'" in my opinion. This album was so hard-core progressive that it remains one of my favorites, though decades later. Even in the Quietest Moments and Breakfast in America were favs of mine as well. In 79, with Breakfast, they started the commercial sound... that album was half-in, half-out. After that they were became a so-so pop band. How the mighty had fallen. I saw them live back in the day. They were one of the best sounding concerts I ever went to! Glad you two jammed to this! Great reaction!
Supertramp is one of the best Bands of their time. Check out "Breakfast in America" - the best/famoust song of them. But . . . there´s a lot of other great songs they made
Top 5 album of all time! Check out the whole album. In fact they don't have a bad album! Saw them 4x. They are up there with Pink Floyd, RUSH, the Eagles for best live act.
Nice Reaction, Glad You Enjoyed This... Saw Them During This Album Tour, Amazing Band Live As Well... Always Crystal Clear Sound... The Whole Album Is Priceless, You'll Enjoy The Journey.. If You've Ever Thought About Doing A Full Album Reaction, This Is Definitely One To Experience In That Format.. But If You Don't, At Least Strap On Those Headphones & Enjoy The Ride On Your Own Time... Cheers From Western Canada
Felippe and THE WOLF HUNTERZ, thanks for a trip down memory lane. I discovered Supertramp in the early 80s (at the age of 14) and it was a revelation. Name any progressive pop/rock band and chances are it's in my collection. Peace!
Pink Floyd used the same school children background voices also in their album The Wall in 1979, School was released in 1974 so i guess Pink Floyd reminds you of Supertramp...just saying
Child of the Seventies...really high...listening to this song for the first time, and the scream right before it kicked it freaked me out. Taught High School for 36 years...ironic I suppose...
One of the best albums of all time. Every song is great.
along with 'Even....' - both absolute gems....
Agreed
This whole album is one of the greatest albums of all time and I've been listening to it since I was eighteen I'm now sixtysix and this got me through so very dark times it's great to see you guys enjoying it so much I know how you feel
This whole album is killer! Thanks for all the reactions. There are so many different sounds, it is great!
Hey guys, Philippe here. Thank you so much for your reaction, I knew you would like it! I so envy you for hearing it for the first time! I will probably watch this reaction a few times or a few dozen times! Love you!
A great song. One of my favorites by Supertramp. Great story.
Merci, Philippe. J'ai seize ans quand I heard this song the first time. Yes, it still lingers in my head.
As for your handle name, it reminds me of a section of Rush's Fountain of Lamneth. Please have a listen.
Oui, je suis bilingue et Canadien.
Good choice Philippe! I couldn’t help but recommend that they listen to Rudy next!
The entire album is stellar!. Every song is so well crafted with dynamics and arrangements.
You're bloody well right
@@TheMafrand Thanks now I can finally get out of my shell
Oh we were so lucky to have this music to grow up with...so cool you guys get to hear it for the first time. I was 15 when I first heard this in 1977 and I'd had a bit of a puff...😄 volume cranked up with headphones, omg! The entire album is a masterpiece of sound and wisdom.
Absolutley truth.........
I was a teenager in the 70s , Supertramp has always been my favorite band still is today at the age of 62 , I have the word Supertramp tattooed cross my entire collar bone !
I won't tell you were I tattooed Supertramp. Anyhow, there wasn't room enough for the last P
My favorite Supertramp song !
A stunning album that eveyone should own. Production, detail, musicianship 😎👍👍👍👍👍👍
Great song, great album. Written by Roger Hodgson when he was a teenager about his experience of public school (which in the UK is a private school, go figure!!)

You are absolutely right - We Canadians were WAAAAYYYY ahead of the curve when it came to this marvellous prog rock band!
I was 19 when this came out,the 70s were great, especially as a teenager, ohh I'm also Canadian, grew up in Kelowna, BC
Like a lot of you old timer Canadians, I was introduced to Supertramp as a teen working in McD's, in the late 70's. I bought their Breakfast in America album followed by this album. More Reactions of SUPERTRAMP Please....!!
Amazing song. A perfect journey.
The title track was played on kids tv here in England in late 74, I was enthralled, I got the album for christmas.
If there ever was a song to be played loud, this is it. Great song, great album.
An extraordinary song, and a seminal album. I think the production on this is extraordinary...every instrument is clear, you can hear every cymbal tap. And I think bassist Dougie Thomson is an unsung hero, nulice lean bass lines, not too fussy and with a lovely sliding technique. One of my favorite songs. Every time the piano part comes on I get goose bumps.
this album was insanely good! i literally felt like i was transported to another world!
Great reaction guys!! I saw Supertramp live in Sydney back in the 70's and they absolutely blew me away!! Sensational band!! ..
I was there also 3rd row from the front
U are so lucky ❤

Greetings from Barcelona
Bonjour, c'est ma préférée du groupe 👍
top 10 albums must contain crime of the century and breakfast in america both by this great and often overlooked band Supertramp
The song offers so much variety that a group like Supertramp can only carried it out. A winner and this group is in my top 20.
Thanks for playing this - my favourite band
❤ love Supertramp. All the album are Great. I listen her when i have ten year's old. I have 54 now.
Easily one of the most underrated bands to ever exist.
This song, is SO good !!
That's it! Pulls you out of reality into this world!
One of the best prog rock albums of all time
Hello you two lovelies. Yes I've seen them, first time 1976 and many more occasions. I'm sooo old 😭😭😭. It's Jan from London. Yes me again 😀😀😀 xxxx
My first *Supertramp* experience - 15K seat sports arena that only sold 12 tickets in total. Seriously, I was one of the twelve - the *most professional band* hands-down! This song/album, and Even In The Quietest Moments are fabulous! ☮️❤️🎼😎
One of the most beautiful songs ever in prog rock!!! Absolutely
love all about supertramp also got to love em in my early teens
It was such an unconventional album opener, in the best of ways. I can remember when ABC's "Wide World of Sports" used the instrumental break of this track as part of it's program.
Another masterpiece from supertramp. ❤
Can you imagine what it was like listening to that in the 80,s it was mind blowing 🇬🇧❤️
Great reaction you two. Love your vibe! ♥ ✌
Since you liked this, I recommend “Child of Vision”. One of the coolest keyboard/piano solos out there!
Your the guy on cheep trick!
Brilliant album, Hide In My Shell is the next best, but can't go wrong with any of them.
"Rudy" from the same album is amazing..
One of my very favorite Supertramp songs and favorite album. And you gotta listen to it Segway Sharpley into “Bloody Well Right”
This is always fun for me as, as soon as this track finishes, I ALWAYS start humming the tune to 'Bloody well right'. I can't help myself! 😂
This is why I fell in love with prog-rock as well. My introduction to this song came while working the midnight shift at a 7-11 back in the day when FM radio was about playing album cuts. I saw Supertramp at Festival Hall in Brisbane, Australia back in the 70s. I flogged this great album for years ❤️🇦🇺🦘
Entire recording is classic and never gets old.
Yeah, what changed me when I was twelve was definitely Supertramp and Games without frontiers, Peter Gabriel! I was born 1966
This is from THE Supertramp album. They were progressive until they caved to commercial pressure. After the 70's, they sort of "fizzled'" in my opinion. A musical tour de force.
Don't let the music take away from the lyrics, it's a timeless questioning of authority theme that never gets old.
The best song of Supertramp🤘
MUITO LINDA😘❤️🇵🇹🇪🇺❤️
Another tune that takes you on a journey with so many little twists and turns. Epic
El concierto en Paris fue durante muchisimo tiempo el mejor de todos los tiempos
My favorite Supertramp for sure.
Brilliant composition and production- they don't make 'em like this anymore.
My favorite Tramp song!
One ther best brings back my youth well almost !🙃
Supertramp is one of the best Bands of their time. Check out "Breakfast in America" - the best/famoust song of them. But . . . there´s a lot of other great songs they made
These guys were actual musicians in a musical band. Something rare.
Real Good Album! Masterpiece.
Top 5 album of all time! Check out the whole album. In fact they don't have a bad album! Saw them 4x. They are up there with Pink Floyd, RUSH, the Eagles for best live act.
Hi Folks 👋
Really enjoy Your reactions 😄
Love Supertramp ❤️
Crime Of The Century is a great Album.
Ronnie SCOTLAND 😊
Their live performance sounds more like the vinyl record than any other band.
The album cover always amazed me. Very few people waste a minute commenting on them. In the years of vinyl there were authentic works of art!!!
Child of vision is another great one with amazing piano.
Supertramp ❤
Great Choice.
You reminded me of my school days
They have a huge catalog ! I think you guys would enjoy all their music !
Nice Reaction,
Glad You Enjoyed This...
Saw Them During This Album Tour,
Amazing Band Live As Well...
Always Crystal Clear Sound...
The Whole Album Is Priceless,
You'll Enjoy The Journey..
If You've Ever Thought About
Doing A Full Album Reaction,
This Is Definitely One To Experience
In That Format..
But If You Don't,
At Least Strap On Those Headphones
&
Enjoy The Ride On Your Own Time...

Love that song :)
this song is legend. I played it in the 80s with my band. The solo albums of Roger Hodgson are also very good ...... in my opinion!
Crime Of The Century is a great album. The title song, Crime Of The Century is great.
Great album! Also, seeing them in 79, easily one of the best sounding concerts of the era.
Child of the Seventies...really high...listening to this song for the first time, and the scream right before it kicked it freaked me out. Taught High School for 36 years...ironic I suppose...
Love you Susan
Amazing song
Best Album by Supertramp, and one of the top 10 albums ever.....prog!!! Not Pop like Breakfast...
Went to the Crime of the Century Tour. Seen it live. Seen them many times actually. Ya, I'm that old (chuckle)
Masterpiece
Great song and reaction
