6:43 cool. I have a similar Seiko datejust homage. Has a silver dial. Two tone. Jubilee bracelet. Quartz movement w/ a Daydate complication. It’s essentially the quartz variant of the “American Psycho” Seiko automatic datejust homage. I wasn’t aware that was in a Bond film 👍
Nice video! Lots of Seiko’s worn in some movies especially by Roger Moore. As we know Fleming wore an Explorer 1016 in real life and so did his character Bond in the books. In the first novel Casino Royale, Fleming wrote, “He could not just wear any watch. It had to be a Rolex.”🥂
Yes, I've always felt that their electronic capabilities are a more natural fit for James Bond. Quartz precision and years of power reserve. We should remember that the military was the first to adopt quartz watches.
Yeah, I wanted to include it but ran out of time. My editor was crashing on me and I had to leave it out. I really did love that watch tho. So impressed when I saw it as a kid. I wondered if the real watch could do that haha.
Sorry, Seiko is not a watch suitable for Bond. He is too cool and sophisticated for what is basically, a bargain basement, Japanese sh!tter. It is like Bond going to McDonald's, picking up a burger and drinking a diet coke as opposed to a vodka martini in a Michelin restaurant. It is not real James Bond.
A bit harsh. You have to remember that during the 80's quartz tech was very sexy. And it fit the high tech gadget ethos then. I mean an Omega that shoots lasers is pretty silly too.

I love the Bond film Seikos!

Yeah, for that reason, I consider the Explorer 36mm the true 'Bond Watch'.
It´s nice to see you back sir!
Thanks! I just published my latest market update. It's a big one.
Thanks for this great topic!
Glad you like it! Thanks.
I have read all the James Bond books and like some of the films. This is a cool video. I think James Bond wore an explorer 1?
Yeah, check the other comment. Fleming clearly is wearing an Explorer 1016 in one of the pictures. But I still have love for Seiko!
Seiko CEO is a genius by using the Bond movies with Roger Moore 007 as a "marketing vehicle" to promote their watches!

No mention of the Seiko he wore in "The Spy who Loved Me"....the one with the ticker-tape message thing...?

Jaws annoyed me. I hated his teeth. On the other hand, he seemed like a nice guy, as far as villains go.
Yeah, didn't he find a short nice girl at the end? That always made me smile.
Seiko TV watch??????????????????? 1983 Octopussy???????????????????
I ran out of time. Really wanted to include it. But I also have a day job.
