This one will be hard for me because I have a personal connection to PC Harper. I can’t wait to hear your take Emma. My sister is a very good friend of PC Harpers wife and I know a lot of details about the case. Such a tragic and unnecessary waste of life from a very well loved member of the wider community. Andy had personally advised my sister and her husband about home security in his own time…he went above and beyond for his community. Also Mrs Harper is a real hero for how she has campaigned and make sure her husband did not die in vane.
Addition…those kids absolutely knew that PC Harper was attached to the car. They would’ve heard his initial screams and the way they drove indicates knowledge that he was being dragged along. There is no doubt that they would’ve seen him and apparently they made jokes about him being attached to them and they turned the music up so they couldn’t hear if PC Harper was screaming.

The courts should have the discretion to add 5 years to any moron that laughs, acts up and disrupts the court proceedings. They would soon stop that nonsense!!! If they don't well they are serving a lot of time. They also have to show remorse to get parole - I would suggest that they have to show remorse at the time of sentencing or it affects their parole = parole refused !!! RIP PC Andrew Harper.

I wish a new law would be brought in for those accused/found guilty who openly mock their victim's families by being cold hearted and laughing in the face of authority, never mind bloody falling asleep, that 10 years is automatically added to their sentence for their blatant disrespect. I can't help wondering if it were one of their family dragged to their deaths would they be outraged as they seem to have so little regard for a person's life and no accountability, they didn't get a harsh enough sentence in my opinion

He ended up in Preston hospital in an induced coma for almost 2 months due to his injuries. I was lucky to have my Dad until 2008 but his injuries definitely caused his ill health for the rest of his life. It breaks my heart for anyone losing someone to this awful way of dying.

I have two stories about Travellers that I always chuckle about when I remember them. One of my Dad's Friends was (RIP) an Irish Gypsy & was ADAMANT he was a Gypsy not a Traveller & there was a reason for that, he was settled in his older age, he rarely travelled unless for holidays to Ireland to see Family. Well, story 1... A groups of Traveller's turned up in our town, actually Reading so pretty much where this took place. They were sadly the types dumping shit everywhere, kids throwing things at cars etc. He went down to have a word, literally to say tidy the F up, you're doing us a disservice! They gave him a load of abuse because he was settled who was he to tell proper travellers what to do!? His response was "I'm done sticking up for you guys then, oh & if you're travellers pack up your shit & F off travelling!" They didn't really have a response to that haha. The other is a far shorter story... We were having a BBQ, having a chat, he says to me & a few friends "Trust me lads you've never met a Traveller/Gypsy that isn't a criminal" we were all a tad perplexed staring at this old Gypsy man!! He took a swig of his drink & walked off to get food!! XD

Lol not really smell bull shit . 1 no such thing as Irish gypsy! There Irish travllers lol. 🤣gypsys are Romani travelled from Indian centuries ago. Irish travllers totally different. No Irish travller calls himself gypsy!! Travllers gypsy to different things . Google it if you have too! 🙄. 2 of he went down there to clear these travllers out tell them to tidy up. First he would have some sort off connection. Maybe know one off there family! And can't see them telling him to do one! There's alot respect amongst travllers there would have been some sort chat lol with out the argument. An for him to say all travllers are criminals lol he defo wernt travller or gypsy lol . Very proud people .

@@joegreen8248 Obviously didn't make it very clear I was a child in most of that & knowing the old boy he absolutely could've been fucking with us for fun!
I will also say... Yes, I am pretty ignorant to the whole Gypsy, Traveller, labelling stuff. I'm pretty useless like that with most things that require a "label" these days! I cant even say Man/Woman without the occasional cock up these days!
No need to be so dismissive with your comment either, came across a bit rude? I'd hope it wasn't meant to be, I simply shared a memory.

I live in East Tennessee, USA. At one time we had Gypsies that would travel here and stay in Travel Parks nearby. I know the groups that came here was thieves. I worked in a retail store at that time and was told what to look out for because they always came in packs of women and children and 5 to 10 people. The women always had these large tote type bags in which they could shoplift small items. So the only interaction I had with them was to try nd keep them from shoplifting. I never met anyone of them that was not a criminal.
