Doing this exercise lying down is also very good. Standing, you can do with support such as chair, wall, etc... Or without any support to work on stability and the muscles as well. I know this exercise might seem like nothing, but it's actually very very important. The glute medius is so important to train. I'm 26, and when I started training glute medius and working on my glutes more in general, I felt so much stronger and also less back pain, hip and knee pain. I actually like doing this before I do glute bridges. The key in my opinion, is to squeeze your glute hard when lifting your leg to side. And hold it at the end range for 1-2 seconds while squeezing the glute as much as you can. Really focusing on the glute contraction will add so much benefit.

I just can't thank you people enough. This is what I needed for the longest time,, I've been having pain in lateral hip , lower back and the knee after I once landed from a height on my right leg. Since then this problem started and it's been 4 months that I'm experiencing gait imbalance and its getting worse day by day. Cycling gives some relief. Other than that, nothing worked for me. I'll start doing this exercise, I'll definitely update about its results. Hope It'll work🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞 I'm reallllyyyy worried coz am just 24 and I'm afraid if I'll walk like this for the rest of my life. It's no less than a nightmare for me. Please help and upload more videos related to this.

I went to the physio today thinking I had a ACL or PCL tear because my knee is giving way from under me (it's also swollen and has even bled out through the joint and surfaced over the patella in a big bruise) but he checked and everything is intact! But I could not sit in a chair or stand up again just standing on one leg - and he said my gluteus medius is weak! That was a surprise! Who knew knee problems could actually be hip muscle problems! I have a brace for a while and will do some of your exercises. Thanks :)

Could you please recommend some stretches or exercises for the lower back and hips? I toss and turn through the night due to left hip pain. When I get up in the morning my lower back is terribly stiff as is my hips. I can barely stand up straight. If I have to sit or stand for along time at work I get stiff and it’s painful. I can hardly bend forward. I feel like I’m locked up.
