Hello Bryan, I can't say this is the answer to my intermitttent problems but having the information is definitely a plus. People like you disprove all the negative crap on all social media. Someday I hope I can return the favor. If not, maybe I can help another thanks to your help. Thank you!
Bryan, this is by far one of the most informative to the point tech videos out there. Thank you for all you do! My 08 Equinox is only triggering this code once in a great while and it gets stuck in 2nd gear. If I turn it off and clear the code all is good for another who knows how long(days, weeks). I would think being random in my case that it may not be the TCM since it doesn't stay stuck on. These problems are tricky to diagnose. Thanks again for a QUALITY video.
I also have a 08 Pontiac Torrent with the 6T70 and mine has this exact problem. I'll stop the car and wait a few seconds, start it back up and it'll be fine. I found a easy way to tell if the solenoid is still stuck open is to switch it into manual and see if the gears show on the guage cluster. If not then it needs shut off again. Like you said it could go for days or weeks before sticking again, for me it's always at a stop when it happens. I think it's a mix of being a faulty TCM and the solenoids. I hope your situation was worked out, as I'm hoping a new TEHCM will fix mine and some new fluid.
@@starlightwarden I did get it fixed. It was those little thin red pressure switch disks. Two of them were broke so I replaced all of them and it's been fine ever since. Then I sold it, LOL. I would look at those before you buy a TEHCM and have to have it programmed and all that. Good luck, hope you get it resolved.
I'm so thankful for this video, i pulled my tcm off today and sure enough that's the problem and hopefully the only problem i find. Thank you very much.
This was a very informative and helpful video. I have a 2008 Pontiac Torrent GXP, with the 6T70 and mine occasionally will stick in first from a stop with the P0752 code. I'll stop the car and restart it after about 30 seconds and it'll be fine again. It struggles to accelerate and I can tell it isn't going through all the gears like it used to. I'm hoping that simply replacing the TEHCM and adding in some new fluid will fix the issue, as I don't have the money for a new one right now... I'm gonna follow this video to have mine replaced sometime soon. Thank you for making such a detailed video!
Bryan, 2008 GMC Acadia 180,000 Miles. I had the transmission rebuilt about 8 months ago. Drove just fine for about 5 months. Then it started going into Limp Mode after driving it and getting it warmed up. I can pull over and let it cool a little and then it would do fine until warmed again. I took it back to the Transmission shop and they kept it over a week trying to repair it. They told me that it really isn't the P0700 and P0752 that's the problem but that a Ground wire or a Connector Plug not seating or that a wire was broke, somewhere. I checked everything on the Acadia as far as connectors and found nothing. I then took it to my local mechanic and after 5 days he said that it was the Solenoid (P0752) causing this limp mode problem. He told me to take it to another Transmission shop and get them to diagnose it. I have not done that yet as I am tired of putting money into this Vehicle. The only other code I have got is a Catalytic efficiency problem. Which cleared up with a cat cleaner and one new Oxygen Sensor. Also, I have replaced, Brake Pedal Switch, cleaned Throttle Body and Mass airflow sensor, after this problem started. After cleaning these two things, it ran about two weeks and did fine. Then here we go again with limp mode. I’m lost and so are the transmission rebuilder and the Mechanic. Any ideas you can think of that we are missing? Sorry so long but after watching this video I was very impressed with your knowledge and thought maybe you could help. Thank You - Ishy - ishy78ishy@yahoo.com
Without looking at it myself from what you mentioned, I would agree with your local mechanic and most likely needs a new controller, TEHCM. It could be a wiring issue but typically that's not the case and is more likely to be the TEHCM which is known for going bad on these vehicles. I, don't know why in the world the transmission shop would not install and program a new controller(TEHCM) during the rebuild? FYI everyone who owns this vehicle will at some point have to replace the TEHCM. I hope this bit of info can help you out my Brother!
Thanks for a quality video, man. Had the same codes/issue on our '08 Acadia. I didn't replace the entire TECHM, just the laminate discs and o-rings, but this walk-through was super helpful.

First shop $2200 - second shop $3606 - Unreal - Also the first shop is owned by my Neighbor.

9:30 That's funny. Lets me know you live in the real world too.
Sorry bro I am watching a video can I have learning some very good stuff but I'm sorry to tell you everybody that I know that had a transmission flush it made the transmission totally go out
That just means the transmission was already in bad shape and on its way out. or the wrong fluid was used.
(FYI clean transmission fluid is not bad for a transmission)
