I'm a physical therapist in the UK. I trained 1991-1994 and we trained with infra red light treatments. They were used extensively for skin, joint and soft tissue injuries. It went out of fashion in favour of magnetic therapies. I continued to use it despite protestations from many colleagues. What goes around comes around re branded, repackaged and given a PR boost. Reinventing the wheel comes to mind.

In the early 90s, my ex-boyfriend's father was a cardiologist. He invented a red light therapy called the Bio-tron. Everyone in the medical field deemed him a nut job. Now a days, I see more of this red light therapy. His name was Dr. Christian Dan Roehm, if you want to research any of his work. He also did Chelation in conjunction with red light.

Sounds flashy but actually it's nonsense. It's very likely old infrared filament lamps from the '30 are the most effective. It is wideband with a small portion of UV which LED doesn't have, i think.
I'm using old style Edison filament lamp with the well known red filter on it

I use a red light /Nir light panel along with a vibration massager on my ankle and foot for 5 mins every morning. I had arthritis and what I thought was gout. Mostly my left foot, adult onset flat foot. Started having issues over 5 yrs ago. Doc restricted me to 8 hr work days and a brace For the left foot. I tried tumeric supplement and tart cherry. I think it may have been pseudo gout(calcium) instead of gout(uric acid). Red light therapy got rid of the swelling(from standing all day at work) and the pain. I think the vibration massage amplifies the healing effects of the red light therapy. I noticed improvement within 3 or 4 days. I ended up ordering a full body length panel because I was so impressed.

Multiple med journal papers have addressed the issue of high risk for premature mortality in those with gout, whether or not their gout flares are well controlled by diet or medication. That should make us all wonder whether controlling the pain of flares really gets to the heart of the problem, or is some other underlying and life-threatening condition involved, an undiagnosed condition which may be the principal cause of excess uric acid in the blood. Med journal papers show that obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), the frequent prolonged lack of breathing during sleep, is such a condition with at least 80% of those with it never diagnosed. The resulting lack of oxygen causes every cell in the body to concurrently produce excess uric acid, as well as reduce kidney function so the removal of uric acid from the blood is slowed. Resolving OSA has been shown to greatly reduce the risk for development of its many life-threatening consequences and premature death, and has been reported to prevent future gout flares. More information is at the UA-cam post "Gout Is an Early Warning of Sleep Apnea".

It would be awesome if you could make a video about HOW certain supplements should be taken! There’s so many little nuances to this issue. Just saw one where taking vitamin b12 needs to be under the tongue to be effective. Lots to these supplements that aren’t known. Thanks for what you’re doing!

I do not use the stand and by not using it I can bend the rods easily. That slight discomfort from the toe is totally gone. What brought tremendous change is the elimination of pain from the hip joints!!! This body is 83 1/2 had its share of injuries and of course inflammations and being on Ketone greatly reduced them from the joints but the use of the lamp eliminated them totally. I started to have pain in the joints in my early 50's. I also noticed the skins look much better with use of this light and I had few age spots and now they are mostly gone.
This light with the rods is not well made. Well we get what we pay for.

Interesting. The guy who wrote a book on Methylene Blue, Mark Sloan, also mentions that Red Light Therapy is a conjunctive treatment that works well with MB.
There are two things I wanted to mention:
    1. I take 300 mg of CoEnzyme Q10 - an Antioxidant daily. This oxygenates the Mitochondria in cells.
    2. MB tastes bitter and not so pleasant to drink. It also has to be ingested and distributes into the body - all over and this takes time. I wonder if MB can be applied directly to skin, where the gout is flaring up, and DMSO applied over it so it goes right thru the skin? DMSO = Di Methyl Sulfoxide, a form of sulfur, medical grade from Amazon.
Imagine, CoQ10, MB ingested. DMSO & MB on skin. Red Light Therapy on skin. Wow, that would be a triple win.

What are the red light frequencies being used ? As an engineer I wonder if plain red LEDs are used for this. I mean it's easy, as a project, to gather a handful of red LEDs laying around, and wire them accordingly in a practical manner. If needed a small, cheap microcontroller can pulse them or change their brightness, or act as a timer.
UPDATE : For anyone interested, 660nm LEDs are used in therapy and horticulture. According to one manufacturer other frequencies for such usage are 365-405nm (UV), 455nm (blue), 530nm (green), and 735nm (far red).

I use to eat a lot of bologna and hot dogs that were made from chicken, beef and pork products and a lot of pork as well and I suffered from gout so bad. But I stopped eating them and I haven't had gout since. Vienna Sausage is the worst in case you were wondering.

I have had a SEROTONINE SYNDROM by using Methylene Blue about 13 days ago. I still have the symptoms. I use 2 gramms of Magnesium per day to keep the nerv system calm and the hart beat low.
15:08 this is a side effect from Methelyne blue you have. I would stop using it.
When my Serotonine Syndrom symptoms go totally away I will begine to use Q10, Kreatine, Citruline Malic, D-Ribose, Dimethyle Glycine to active the mytohondria.
I am thinking some time now of Near Infrared Light. I have found only expensive staff on the internet.
I will never experiment with chemistry again.
