    Bought mine in march 2019 and put 10,000 miles on in first season. Very happy with the bike. I agree with your overall comments. I would buy again! Only complaint, easy to damage levers and panels if you even drop it in a parking lot at no speed. Otherwise a great machine.

    Great video. I've seen your comments in a few other XRT related videos and after owning a 2018 800 XRT for a few weeks now I'm so happy (coming from a 2015 Tracer 900). It's not perfect, perfect is an impossible expectation, but it's damn as near perfect for me. I just love how refined and relaxed it feels, yet it's no slouch when you want some 'spirited' riding. No vibes, great windscreen, slick gearbox, beautifully smooth engine, great suspension and all those lovely features such as cruise control and heated seats and a gorgeous display, not to mention impressive mpg. Hopefully this will be my ride for many years to come.

      @@TheHonoraryAustrian Regarding the bar for your GPS, there are a couple of aftermarket options, both seem pretty good although I have not tried them yet.
      One from Evotech - evotech-performance.com/collections/all/make-triumph-model-tiger-type-800-xrt-year-2019
      And this one from Free Spirits - www.freespiritsparts.com/en/gps-navigator-support-for-triumph-tiger-800.html

    Have you tried setting on the self-cancelling indicators option in the menu? That way you won't hit the main beam switch. It's not for everybody, but I really like the feature, and it actually works very well.

    • @TheHonoraryAustrian
      @TheHonoraryAustrian  4 роки тому

      Peter Hatfield I do use the self cancelling indicators but only to cancel when I forget. It’s a bad habit for me to rely on it as I ride so many different rental bikes when abroad 👍

      When you say the phone mount I guess you mean the crossbar to which the phone mount is connected? If so it’s custom made.

    Hi
    Great video.
    I ‘m the owner of a 2019 Triumph Tiger XCx .
    Can you tell me about the make of your new spotlights? Will they be supplied with plugs and fittings for the Triumph Tiger 800?

    • @TheHonoraryAustrian
      @TheHonoraryAustrian  4 роки тому

      Poul Schjerning they are running lights I got from Louis in Austria but you can get similar in other countries. No specific connection for the triumph. I just cut the cables that go to the Tiger spotlights and connected these to the same wires with a waterproof connection. They then work as the originals and are operated by the switch on the left handlebar 👍

    Interesting how you demonstrate how smooth the bike is. I love the idea of getting a Tiger but was recently left disappointed on a test of both the 800 & 1200 with the vibration in the handlebars especially the mirrors. Some research tells me I am not alone in what I experienced. I am starting to think something was not set correctly on the bikes. Your review as reinvigorated my interest.

      Andrew Bannister Hi Andrew. I had a similar experience with a test ride of a Ducati Multistrada except it was vibration in the seat. At one point in the Rev range it was like sitting on a washing machine in mid spin cycle. I can’t imagine that was normal so I also put it down to bad bike set up. It did put me off however. Don’t however get me wrong. I think all bikes have vibrations it’s just a matter of degree and frequency. With the Tiger what vibration there is causes me no problems with the cameras. That’s really what I was trying to say. Thanks for watching by the way 👍

      Andrew Bannister. , I am on my third Triumph triple , one of the main reason is the super smooth engine, maybe not as smooth as a four cylinder but way better than any two cylinder bike, love my Tiger 800 ,prefer it to the 900 !

    Can you advise how warm the heated seat gets? I tried the 900GT and it was barely lukewarm

      @@TheHonoraryAustrian And no wind or buffeting? Im currently waiting for my xrt, reading some people complaining about buffeting.. But I guess it depends on height and build. I'm 1.72m.
      If you drop one position do you get a lot more wind?

    • @TheHonoraryAustrian
      @TheHonoraryAustrian  4 роки тому

      Jose Guerreiro well I’m 1.70 so I wouldn’t think 2cm would make a huge difference. I’ve been using it in top position for ever so I don’t really remember how much difference dropping it one notch would make. If you have a problem you could always add one if those deflectors to the top of the screen. But as I think I said in the video this bike has the best wind protection I’ve yet experienced and I’ve ridden quite a few bikes now.
