As promised, here are 2 reputable job sites for opportunities in China. I'll be doing a 'How to get hired" video explaining in detail how to land the best jobs and 'need to ask' questions for interviews
hiredchina
www.hiredchina.com/
echinacities
www.echinacities.com/
I've done at least 50 legit interviews (I'm a bit picky when it comes to jobs hahaha), but jobs listed on these sites present great opportunities for you to take your next step toward working in China

Hey Ashley, thank you for bringing me memories of Zhengzhou! I was there in 2009 teaching or conversing privately with Uni students. I still talk about it here in Sydney Australia. Have you seen the park with carved tree branches that resemble humans or animals? And what about Hanan museum it must have more in there now (over 5000 year history!). It looks great at night with the yellow lighting. I was the first foreigner that my student, (who had just graduated as a tour guide) showed me around. I'm nearing 70 now. I subscribed of course. P S check out Zhengzhou University, that must have grown...gotta stop or I'll be writing a whole essay.
Awww... thanks for this, really pushes me to create more. I didn't actually go to that park. When I asked about it, some locals said it needed upgrading or itay have closed officially unfortunately. The city grew a lot in the 3+ years I stayed there. Really made it my home and often return for visits. Living in another province now but ZZ feels like my second home (aside from my home country)... lovely people. Thanks so much for sharing and subscribing. Means a lot! China is open again, you should return for a visit 🙏
First to comment. Awesome first video Ashley, I'm looking forward to seeing more of your videos.

Thank you for subscribing and I'm happy to share. I actually worked with a few engineers there too so yes, that's where one of the largest factories is located
Great sharing.
Thank you! Cheers!

I'm very glad that you're doing this. As someone who is planning to TEFL in China over the next few months, I see Zhengzhou often gets overlooked, or experiences quite a few negative comments compared to other places (often described as just an industrial, factory city). It's refreshing to see someone living there who actually has something positive to say!
I have been inclined towards Henan, myself. It's the place where China historically began, and has had a prominent role throughout Chinese history. I've read about Zhengzhou's extensive rail connections to the rest of China. I read an English translation of Romance of the Three Kingdoms during my teenage years (after I got hooked on Koei's "Dynasty Warriors" series), and I've said to myself that one day I'm going to have to visit the capital of that time (Luoyang, also in Henan province) for myself, as well as nearby Xi'an (formerly Chang'an).
DEFINITELY!!! Most expats who go there never take the time to explore or they just don't know where to go. As I mentioned in the video, I owe all my knowledge to my boss Bo Yuan, her husband and my best friend Lindy, all Zhengzhou locals who really showed me around and made the experience enjoyable. Luoyang and Kaifeng are MUST Visits in China... TEFL in ZZ is a central spot to be and once you find your city legs, exploring is easy. Most people don't even know there is a huge theme park there with world class rides... talk about a hidden gem. I'll do another video soon about fun things to do in ZZ. Thanks so much for watching and subscribing.. see you in the next one 🙌

I teach at SIAS University just south of ZZ. We have a teacher here from Jamaica also.
Awesome 👍
So cool! I started my kung Fu journey and daoist journey and really want to get to China so bad currently in Virginia where I found my kung Fu family but I still want to get out there fr
Truly an amazing experience. Been to Shaolin Temple twice and I'm definitely going again. Tons to check out in and around Zhengzhou as it relates to Kung-fu.. so definitely worth the trip for you. Hope you get the opportunity soon... I'll also be posting a video about the temple ... stay tuned and thanks for watching! 💫
Want to know your story too , myself I have stayed here in for 10 years now, I love the country and there is a lot to do in China
Yea, it's been great. I'm in my 5th year. I'll be sharing more in the future. Thanks for watching 💫

Please share your videos with BBC, NBC, ABC, CNN...
That's a great idea 💡 👍
@@theblackasianja5371 In an ideal world it would be a great idea, however, unfortunately those corporate msm are not paid to show positive content about China. Glad you've settled well in China tho and enjoying your stay. Every country has good & bad, what's important is being objective & understanding how the system works to see if one can adapt. Looking forward to seeing your videos sharing your experiences. Subscribed 😇
感谢您的分享,不过外国人居住在河南的好像很少☺👍👍👍
Thanks for watching. Yes, I rarely meet foreigners who have heard about this province...but it's a great place to be if anyone's wants to experience a rich blend of traditional and modern China
Hope you enjoy your stay in China

Okay hey… im tryna move to Zhengzhou from Shenyang to kinda start afresh.. and i have never left Shenyang before it’s kinda bothering.. what do you think
It depends on the lifestyle change you're looking for. In my opinion, Zhengzhou is great for people who would like to reconnect with themselves or settle with a family. There are tons of green spaces, options to explore authentic Chinese culture in and around Zhengzhou, especially in Kaifeng and Luoyang.. if you're a foodie.. lots to try.. you can also connect with some of the expats there to make things easier. It is also a cheaper place to live than most big cities, so you can save a lot... so it all depends on what your goal is for the next year or 2
Would love too ask a few questions as my family and I are moving to Zhengzhou
Yes, certainly... I'd be happy to share
@@theblackasianja5371 Thanks for your reply, Have you got some tips for our move to Zhengzhou?
@@shaunbrickman7280 Hey, sure.
Do a thorough apartment hunt. Depending on the area, some apartments are way better than others. Some also have better play areas for kids or gym & pool... some also don't have adequate heating and Zhengzhou can get down to -18°C in winter which is usually around end of February- March... so make sure you get some details about these. If you're moving to Jinshui district, best place to start exploring the city is from Grand Emporium Mall... lots to see and do around that area. Zax BBQ is where all the expats go so you can get to know more foreigners from there. You can type it into the taxi app 'DiDi' if you're not in China... any other specific questions.. feel free to ask
@@theblackasianja5371 thanks, accommodation is already provided in the New District and should be there by the middle of the year. Thanks again. hopefully, when you have time you could do some more videos on Zhengzhou. Keep up the great work.
@@shaunbrickman7280 You're most welcome... videos are coming 💫 and thanks for your support 🙏
I live in Hebei❤
What is your take on training centers in your town.
Zhengzhou has high standards when it comes to training centers. Foreign teachers working in Training centers in this city always almost always speak about the good treatment of staff, low turnover rate, well behaved kids and good working conditions. Salary however is relatively low when compared to other cities in China, but cost of living in Zhengzhou is also relatively low. With all this is mind, applying to Training Centers now in any city is a gamble because of the new education policies that are causing these schools to close down. Follow @ExpatFocus on Instagram for more articles on these and other related topics for China. Have a good one! 👍
Thank you so much
@@mahlakomafolo8850 sure, no probem... if you have any other questions, feel free to ask

U can teach Chinese and foreigners some raggae, too perhaps ?
Every chance I get! check out this vid from my other channel I did a while back. I use music a lot to teach my classes :D ua-cam.com/users/shortsQ0hsVAV6F-E?feature=share
I am just curious. Is your accent the Jamaican accent?
Great question!💫 I'll always have my Jamaican accent somewhere in my speech but as an Accent Neutralization Coach, my training helps others practice their pronunciation, diction, become more aware of phonemic stress points- inflections, and phrasing- all this to increase oratory fluency. So for me, in this video, no, my accent isn't Jamaican. It cannot be placed... I'll be making a video about this actually📽🎬🎥... I hope you'll be watching 🙏
Are you still in Zhengzhou now?
I currently live in another province
Using a map of China without Taiwan that'll get you real far
Thanks for watching. My hope is that the content about Zhengzhou and the general life in China gets seen. I in no way intend to get involved in any other discussion as it is not my place.
Because it’s an independent nation, why would she include them together?
@@theblackasianja5371 yeah what also gets seen is your blatant ignorance, good luck

Do you think Chinese would enjoy jerk chicken ?
Awesome question! Mixed reviews on this. The flavor is extremely different from anything they have... I have a couple friends who have tried it, they liked it... but said it was soooo different. But expats here go crazy for it anytime they come across it 😏 🙌
so u r on work visa as English /dance teacher?
No, I'm an English Teacher. I use a variety of methods to get students engaged in classes. That song was an instructional song used to practice their listening. 🙏
You are so beautiful and charming, but you don't sound very Jamaican in your accent at all.
Thank you 😊 and thanks for watching. I'm an Accent Neutralization Coach, a highly sought after skill... no worries though, I haven't lost my accent haha
