I Bought a Accident Damaged, Totaled, and Salvage Tesla Model S P85D from Salvage Auction that came with hidden roof damage, and the Ludicrous Mode Upgrade! We started it's rebuild in Alex's garage and ran into a few problems along the way. Rich Rebuilds was of NO help...

Wow, when you guys drove the Tesla off the trailer, I could see the front wheels wobbling so much that I thought the whole axle would just pop off. Driveable??? No. Fixable??? Yes! With Samcrac, that is.
'Runs and drive's'= only has to start and move a few inches fwd and bk.

There is also the catch that it's when it entered their yard...ie, still no guarantee when you try it. In this case, they can rightfully say they could put it in gear and slightly move it forward and backward...but the key bit is still as is and buyer beware.
They blatantly missed the roof - whoever did the inspection.
It used to mean that the car had to move forward 3 ft and backward 3 ft under it's own power. They've apparently recently changed it to mean, "It must move forward under it's own power". Which means it only needs to move forward a half inch and it's good. They're becoming even more greedy. best to always go see the car in person.
Those welds were so crappy I thought Rich did them!

There's always useful parts and clips on wrecked bumpers.
Until your at the dealership buying $500 worrth of clips, screws and braces. Then you wonder why they always give you the fucked up parts. And you better not throw shit away until you completely finish putting the car together. Theres usually always a piece or 2 you have to grab off the wrecked parts

I was subscribed to both guys months before they managed to do these collabs. And I must admit I just love it!
Man, I so wish I could help someone work on a Tesla like this just so I can get to know them better and maybe, JUST MAYBE have the balls to buy a totalled one some day and slowly fix it up. I love the idea. There just aren't many in the western NY area.

That project is dumb for a few reasons. The body has been seriously compromised, and everything needed replacing. The costs of parts alone makes this crazy, not including the time and hours required. Its an interesting project for UA-cam only because its so crazy.

do you know HOW many times I've run into that very problem in my various endeavors? It's like engineers are so intelligent they're actually dumb as a post.
Like the time a cube van got caught under a low bridge. They were talking about cutting the box in half, unbolting it, then a passersby said "let the air out of the tires" and it was out in 10 minutes meanwhile the pros had been discussing it for 2 hours.

Sam, the bolt issue is quite common, when I worked for Ford if we had to do control arm bushes in the Mondeo, a new nut and bolt was included in the repair kit because we had to do exactly as you did

Wtf, how did you manage to do the whole job without using bread knife?
The bolt is assembled that way for safety reasons. Even if the nut fell off the bolt can never come out. Similar to the fundamental mechanics rule, always assemble bolt on top, nut on bottom so if the nut comes loose gravity will hold the bolt in.
