Awesome video man !! Plunking fishing looks so fun, that technique works for kings too? I’m from Chile just trolling anchored and bank fishing for kings
Because I was fishing in the rocky areas. I tied 6lbs test to the rock with simple knot. If a fish hit, and I set the hook. The rock comes loose then it’s easier to fight the fish since there’s no weight.
Ah makes sense! I have a question I was fishing Bonneville and was fishing with 8lb weight but kept getting snagged and kept loosing my weight. What would you recommend I do?
@@suncity9152 at the dam, I use 12oz / 16oz and sometimes railroad spikes. You’ll loose weight but it’ll better with heavier weight so your gear won’t drift as much and you have a chance to get it back.
Vu, I keep trying but getting skunked everytime :( How long do you wait plunking with no bites before you start changing colors/baits/scents on your setup?
Typically every 45 minutes to an hour. On the day that is ‘weedy’ I change bait more often, maybe every 15 minutes. For steelhead, don’t cast too far, try to be in the first water seam of the river.
Not sure. I did well on the sand beaches as well. I just had camera malfunction so there’s no footage 😕. But I find them travel close to the bank either or. Same distance casting for both 10-20ft out, aiming for the first water seam.
It just doesn't get much better than that! Nice fish, nice set-up, Nice Job!!!
Thanks. It’s always a good time fishing.
Way to go bro!!👊🏻

Yeah. Plunk the same way for kings but use a bigger spin n glo and bigger hook.
Vu what rivers do you typically fish ? If you don’t mind me asking. I normally go under Bonnievile by tanner creek but no luck plunking.
Same. I plunk all over the lower Columbia. Try to fish with bobber there 🙂
How recent was the part where you caught the steelhead on a drifting setup?
Last week
Hi vu why do you use a rock?

Are you on the Washington or Oregon side?
I fish both sides.

@@fishingwithvu do you plunk through slack tide or only outgoing?
Thank you!
Outgoing and thru slack tide. Gotta be there for tide change
@@fishingwithvu Got it, thanks! I believe this spot you're fishing has extremely fast drop in depth, is that what makes it a good ambush point?

What River?
Possibly Columbia I do believe Vu is in Washington
